We are going to have MIUI v4 for Xperia S soon, can't wait. One reason for me to unlock my bootloader..

What exactly is MIUI?
Is it just an User Interface, I have to say, the UI in that picture looks clean and simple.
wow, it is even official. well i wanted to wait with unlocking my bootloader a little more, but i possibly can´t resist miui

No not user interface, a whole new rom based on Sony's ICS source i think. It looked awesome with Arc S. I wonder what it will look like with Xperia S, i think it will be amazingly clean and smooth..

It's a famous ROM like CM. It's very popular because its UI is very customizable.
Now we just need someone porting PARANOID ROM and we will have a full set of awesome ROMs: CM9\10, AOKP, MIUI, KAxx.

The idea is great, but the implementation plays some really bad tricks on the frameworks.

You can't have a system wide theme in an iPhone unless it's jailbroken.
use another launcher. problem solved.
miui started maybe as a ios copy but nowadays it is more than a plain copy.

Yes, I do.
It means you have to port it, and android is open source.
Its implementation is probably mangled too.

I wanna make a proposal with our devs and themers ...
As i see in this SGS III hands on video -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzDwxpFgoDg
The interface look's like CM9 but it's much more colorize, i like it and i'm sure more people agree with me. The old school CM9 ICS for my point of view has expired, i'm tired of it and his blue nasty colors.
Let's gather our knowledge and do that.
So what's gonna be ?
This ->

Or this ->
colors are better in my sense as black and blue will get you boring over period of times so will tw but still
Its possible i am working on such theme xd
But have some probs with decompiling

I actually prefer the mellow CM9 UI that we have right now...flashy colours look fine for a while, but then I just get annoyed.
I love Apex Launcher and Trebuchet is very close to that...so I'm loving my UI right now
I guess Samsung uses an own touchwiz-launcher instead of satandard-ICS-launcher.
It's nice to see that more people agree with me.
Take a look at notification bar and volume bar for exemple ... it's beautifull and more eye candy
The launcher it's nice too but not for us ...
I'm talkin' about interface and live colors
Yeah, just let us get cm9 fully working and then we'll see whats best...

Oh hey, maybe if they didn't bastardize Android with Sense then we could have nice things in a relatively quick fashion.
really jellybean is what ICS should have been.
They said the exact thing for ICS and the Tbolt and Inc2 are getting ICS so maybe we are in decent shape
anyone try installing the updated apps?
I kinda doubt given this phone's lackluster sales that it will be updated past ics. Hopefully I'm wrong but....

It really is what ICS should have been. I feel weird going back to it after using JB all night. It definitely is the smoothest version of Android yet, I can't imagine how nice Sense will be atop of it. ICS was like an rc, and this is the real release right here.

Well when you put it that way - is there any rom significantly different from stock at all? The answer is no and no matter what devs do it's still going to be semi-crappy 'cause Sony did a lousy job building ics for our phones.
So good job and keep learning!
