Hi
Today, i was listening to some music, sound started lagging. Then suddenly, it disappeared. Now the speakers arent working anymore. I was on omega v6.0. and using default musicplayer, then I upgraded to omega 7.1. But the problem persisted! So i wiped data and cache, and installed the latest cyanogenmod 9 nightly. But the problem is still there :/
It's not that it aint playing any sound, but its really really really low, i have to put my phone up to my ear before i can hear anything.
If i plugin headsets, the sound is normal in the headsets, also, in calls, the sound is normal in the earpiece. Its only the speakers.
DSPmanager doesnt help, neither does Volume+
i think we have the same issue here .
any fix for it ?

Hey guys,
Today I've noticed strange problem with my stock headphones...
In the morning I played music from my Grooveshark and there was like no bass, disorted sound. Tried it with PowerAMP, Ubermusic, Stock Player - same problem.
I reinstalled my MIUI nothing changed.
When I came to work I picked other headphones from my friend and everything is working great. Then I connected my headphones to his Galaxy S and.. it also works great!
Anyone has a solution for this? Yesterday it was working like a charm, and today it doesn't work only on my phone..
(I turned Equalizer off and nothing changed)
EDIT: I tested more songs, and it's like that some frequencies are missing..
Its been said before that the SGS2 is unable to reproduce the exaggerated distorted low end bass .

Whenever I play my music, I hear buzzing/squeaking/whistling sounds behind the song (theyre not that loud but still)... I hear it with and without headphones and with different players (stock, doubletwist, etc). Is my phone damaged? Is there a fix? Is it common for this to happen? Ive had this problem since i got the phone.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
(btw ive searched and could not find anything helpful)
do you have anything like dspmanager / equalizer on? I had a similar problem and it was caused by equalizer.
i had this problem when i flashed beats audio
but mine was louder
couldnt hear the song
just the buzzing noise
+1 to the problem with beats, reflash n remove equalizers of all kind and then see if its solved.
had the problem on stock rom using stock headphones...much less when using a different headset. used CM7 latr on and the problem was less...now it seems to be back..using GTR
Do u have beats or xloud in your rom
Mine has the same issue, stock rom. The buzz goes away when I use bluetooth headset.

Hello all..
My phone even though is in normal profile and the notification and ringtone volumes are max, it doesnt ring when the call come. even the loud speaker stops functioning as the songs will be played but without sound. the same goes for video too..soundless video..after sometimes, may be after a reboot it will be back to normal. I am unable to find the reason and hence the fix for this.
It started with the miui 2.5.11 rom, then i flashed latest resurrection rom and now im in paraniod android rom v.5. in all the roms the problem is same. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
Bizarre
I'm running resurrection remix and I've not experienced anything like that, but if someone calls while I'm listening to music, the volume of the music drops to nothing after the call. It's still playing but there's no volume until I pause and start again.
Also
The equalisers on both MIUI music player and DSP Manager seem to stop working frequently. Not a massive deal but it's annoying.

Gentlemen,
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S III which I've rooted and installed the latest AOKP milestone, which I really like. Here's what I'm running:
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband version: T999UVDLJA
Kernel version: 3.4.40-aokp-g4c49719-00569-g2b8fa28
AOKP version: aokp_d2tmo_jb-mr1_milestone-1
Build number: aokp_d2tmo-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39
Aside from the occasional random reboot, which I can live with, the only problem I have is with Skype. It won't play audio over the loud speaker on the back of the phone. Audio only comes through the earpiece which is much too quiet. Ringing, call audio, everything plays through the earpiece. In an audio-only call, you have the option to toggle between the earpiece or the speaker, but both options just play through the earpiece.
Making a normal speakerphone call (not using Skype) works great. Skype just can't seem to use the speaker. What can I do to diagnose and fix this?
I know it sounds obvious, but I gotta ask anyway. Have you checked the settings in Skype?

Yes, I've been through all the settings and there's nothing about speaker vs. earpiece. The only option I've seen to toggle between the two is when I'm on a voice only call. However, when I've tried toggling speaker/earpiece, sound will play on the speaker for half a second then go back to earpiece.

I'm having the same problem. In my case there is no choice of speaker in Skype at all (not within setting nor while calling). I have seen some print-screens of the mobile Skype and there was as option for switching to loud speaker/headset while talking (a blue icon with speaker/headset). However, when I'm making a call, I don't have such option. I went through all sorts of discussion, but I haven't seen any solution to this.
Resolved
Regarding the option to switch speakers during a call, it's only available during a voice call. If video is enabled, the option disappears.
It seems the issue has been mostly resolved for me. I'm not sure if the problem was with CyanogenMod or Skype. Since I couldn't find a solution in May, I just abandoned using it on my phone. I didn't pick it back up until a week ago when I upgraded to CyanogenMod 10.1.0-d2tmo and got the latest Skype app (recently released). Now everything mostly works as it should. It's still buggy, but usable.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo.
I was searching for this Skype Bug Fix everywhere, with no success
But today I was trying everything, and my speaker started working after I putted volume less then have.
So by putting lower volume it works on my Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo (GT-I9060)
I have a strange problem after 4.2.2 update. When I connect headphones and start playing music or audiobook or anything else via headphones or internal speaker, I hear in the background some kind of silent but constant noise, it is there in the background, always. And its stops abut 2 second after I stop the music. I'm sure it didn't happens in 4.1.1 and started immediately after 4.2.2 update. And it really worries me, because I use this phone mostly for audiobooks... Help? anybody?
I got the same on original music application . Go get poweramp it solved the problem for me

Turning off beats audio pretty much relinquishes audio hiss, otherwise you can try flashing zeroinfinity`s audio mod which apparently also woks on 4.2.2.

So You are trying to tell me that this is normal? I'm sure everything worked fine on 4.1.1
Same issue in poweramp.
ryanjsoo, you're right, turning beats audio off helps a little... but this is ridiculous, beats audio device with hiss in the background when turned on.
I'm on stock right now, custom rom will help?

You can try using an external dac/amp such as a fiio e6, using a custom rom may help, try flashing this mod, make a backup since i cannot guarantee that it will work with 4.2.2 however i have heard of people having success, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231742, otherwise i cannot think of anything else except backing up your apps and contacts, wiping data and flashing stock?, also, not sure if this works but using root explorer, under the directory etc, change all the 48000 ang 48 vales to 44100 and 44.1 in asound and audio_policy to remove any resampling which may destroy quality.

Thank you. I will try to do it, because right now my night sessions with audiobooks become a nightmare. Honestly, whole 4.2.2 update is a one big mistake in my opinion. They gave me hissing sounds, lock screen lags and take away some of my favorite widgets.
Can I downgrade and install viper x based on 4.1.1 via hansontool ?
EDIT: Problem solved. I've done another factory reset, this time with format data. Was getting ready to unlock BL but when I checked audio quality, there is no hissing sound, nor popping now. And general responsiveness is also improved. I don't get this, but it works now
