[Q] Insanity ii cm ics 74 messaging error (please help) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every time I send a text message, after the message is sent, I get "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped.", and my reception drops to zero for a couple of seconds. I started getting this error today, and I have been using this rom for several days now without any issues. I wiped data cache and dalvik cache several times, but to no avail. If anyone could help me, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Anyone???

No solution but more information...
I am having the same issue! However, I am on the international Galaxy note and have started the issue after the 7/6 update for cm9.
I am thinking to roll back because this is such an annoying issue but I have not yet.
I have been using handcent, but uninstalling seems to make no difference. I also tried deleting all my messages but that also did not fix it.

Newest nightly fixed it so I would suggest trying to get an update.

[Q] having several issues..

first: sometimes while texting i get and SMS Error and it wont send my text.
Says: "General Problems"
if i click details then it says: Cause code: 65535
error class 3
sometimes i just restart the phone and its cool. but then after a while it does it again. now it just does it all the time. but usually to whoever i was texting. sometimes others are not affected.
EDITok so i might have found the solution but i will leave this hear for future reference) i removed the +1 in front of the number and texts are working fine as of right now. if anything changes i will re-edit again.
EDIT2: so this did not work for me. i read it on the vzw community forum.
second issue. GPS. cant get a fix no matter what i do. ive tried everything i could without hard resetting the phone. i even downloaded GPS Status and used that. nothing helped.
phone is all stock. no root.
any help is greatly appreciated.
I had the same issue with textimg yesterday. I could receive but not send and would get the error message you had. I rebooted my phone and have not had the issue since. I am curious as well as to what caused this issue. I am stock, not rooted, and using the stock messaging application.

Try the GPS Test Plus app. It shows you how many satellites you're connecting. It connects actually pretty fast.

[Q] Multiple sent SMS

For the life of me I can't figure this out. I installed Handscent on my Thunderbolt and now it is sending the same text 2 - 3 times. I've tried uninstalling, clearing data, clearing cache and nothing works. I disabled every notification on the standard messaging app but it just keeps doing it.
Anyone have any ideas?
No ideas, but you're not alone...
I just want to bump this and say that it is happening with GoSMS and the stock messaging app as well. I wonder if it's the network.
I had to do clear data in messaging app in Manage Applications menu. Just make sure there are no messages you want to keep because you will lose them.
Had the same issue. I called Verizon to report it. I rebooted and have not had any issues. Well none that I know of. Not sure if it was the network or my phone.
Yeah nothing is working. Using stock app and cleared data, still doing it. I'm beginning to think it has to do with the DasBAMF Rom because it didn't happen until I started using the rom.
Give it a day... its more than likely the network and not the ROM... ive used many different ROMs on my D1 and this problem would come and go from time to time... often without even changing ROMs.... give it 24 hours, if it doesnt stop, try a new ROM then, dont give up on it so fast.
This was happening to me about two weeks ago. It worked itself out.
Have you guys tried freezing the old msging app?
it's happening on my stock TB...pretty sure it's just the network considering my blackberry used to do this as well.

[Q] androidacoreprocess force close

Hi everyone I posted this on my roms page but I thought I would branch out and ask others if they have seen anything like my problem. It seems my phone hates my brother or at least his phone number. Every time he calls me or I call him I get the error process.acore has stopped unexpectedly problem, force close. I tried to clear the phone app but no go. The problem has occurred on two separate roms, fresh installs over a two week period? Of course the phone stops working and I get frustrated. Thought it was a dirty download so I tried Flips newest creation and sure enough after I have it set up enough to do a nandroid make the back up then about the time I make a few phone calls it starts kicking our the error android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly problem, force close.(just found it was only my brothers phone number) I am on TWRP 2.0 for my current recovery.
Oh thanks everyone for any ideas,
I'm on 1.4 hboot, baseband 0.97.10.0808, PRI 1.24.003, PRL 21083, Android version 2.3.4 & Sense 3.0 currently....boot ready to SVN back to most recent Warm nightly.
Ok now it gets really weird, I just realized it's my brothers phone that causes the issue? What the f?I called many different phone numbers even a Miami area code like his....it has happened on two different fresh installs of two different Roms. I did clear the data on the phone app but should I completely delete his contact and then allow google to sync? It seems I basically already did that with the installs of the different roms? Any ideas WHAT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE THIS? Very weird.
Thanks again because I have no clue
Charles
Ok so I reprovisioned the phone and still the same problem. It varies as to which phone contact causes the force close issue. Going to try and delete contacts although I doubt it does any good.
Anyone, Buehler, Anyone?
The same thing is happening to me on my 3d and i haven't rooted it yet. I will turn on the phone and everything will crash. I don't think it has to do with the rom but maybe a phone defect. I would say unroot and see if the problem still occurs if it does bring it back to sprint. They have a warranty for stuff like this.
TWRP 2 is really buggy, try flashing through cwm or twrp 1.1.1

I've been running twrp2.0 since release and I've restored nands, did wipes, etc all has worked fine.

ICS Question with issue

So, I am getting an error message "com.android.phone is not responding" since I switched to ICS. Does anyone know what this issue is? Possibly low signal strength?
That's your phone apk. Does it prompt you to force close it? Did you do a full wipe? And have you restored anything from a previous Rom?

I actually started to get the exact same error. I was just going through installing my apps from the market then all the sudden that error started to come up. You have two options, think one is cancel and the other was OK. When you click OK it says its generating logs then it looks like it reloads, however it continues to error.
I ended up restoring my recovery which was a task in its own with the hole kernel difference. Everything seems to be working fine now though with the stock recovery.
I had similar problems with a senseless sense ROM, phone was force closing a lot, then whenever I changed the volume it would reboot

[Q] Multiple Text Messages Being Sent

So I posted this on the Paranoid Android thread, and I think that was the wrong place to post since I have no eliminated it as a ROM issue. Here is what has happened:
This is the reason I am posting here: today my text messaging has gone goofy. When I send a text message in the default, stock, PA AOSP app, the message says "sending" under it for a little while, then it says the "failed to send message" with the little red triangle on it. Meanwhile, the recipient has gotten 4 copies of the text. Yes, four. It has happened to literally everyone I have sent texts to today: iPhones, Droids, feature phones. I have clean installed the ROM and GApps 3 times today and it still happens. I wiped my internal and SD card from TWRP (got into a little issue there, had to figure out adb sideload, but we are all good now). Checked the MD5's before I installed. It's still happening. Other people with Verizon in the area that I know don't have this issue. Also, this was my 3rd day since installing the ROM, and it didn't happen the first two days, only today. Bottom line, I have no idea what's going on, and I need some help to fix it.
Update on the texting issue: I called VZW and went through their steps, and they said its almost certainly a device issue, and not a network issue. She said that my phone is having trouble contacting the SMS switch, and so it keeps trying to send the message, but it never hears back so then it reports that it can't be sent. The lady I spoke with did file a ticket for a "Network Technician" to take a look at the issue, but that will probably take at least 72 hours. I really hope this is either an issue with the ROM or with the network, because I really don't want to have to go through the process of unrooting and returning to complete stock to get one of vzw's crappy "like new replacements"
Update 2: Restores some of my backups from previous ROMs, including an AOKP 4.2.2 Milestone and an CleanROM VZW SE and the text messaging is still messed up. That pretty much eliminates the chance that its a PA issue, and it is most definitely either a device issue, or a Verizon Network issue. Cross your fingers that its a network issue so I don't have to go through the mess of returning to stock and all that.
Any possible fixes that you guys can think of?
Indeed its a device problem. I've got the reverse issue! I keep receiving the same copies of one message about 10 to 15 times a day. Due to this, the latest message from the respective recipient delays to the next day! I do have tried third party apps but still it doesn't work out... Need help!??
