Recovery in the 70s - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

The date in recovery is in the 70's , my nandroid backups all have dates in the 70's.
Why is that ?

I'm glad you brought this up... I'm having the same issue. I thought it was my computer not reading the dates correctly. I don't know what to make of this? It makes it tough to figure out backup dates. I dig the 70's but not when it comes to doing nandroid backups.

This will really mess up historians in a couple hundred years if they get a few of these to boot.

New ICS update?!?!

I went to settings and update software and it said "up to date. Check again in 11 hours"
Oh btw, how do you post pictures?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Just go to the dev section and you can have an even better version of ICS in 11 minutes.

Ummm wat.
You can only check for updates every so often, which is why it is telling you to check again in x amount of hours.
No i717 ICS update rolling out man. You must've heard about the n7000 getting ICS and thought we had the same phone.

If you don't want to install one of the leaked versions of ICS (Which are pretty damn good), I have a novel idea for you;
Next time, don't purchase a carrier subsidized phone. Your chances of getting a timely update are better.

And if it is anything like the update for the AT&T One XL that changed the bootloader and made it semi-permanently unrootable (for months anways)?

Any news about update ( version, size )?
I downloaded and installed the update.
I installed it this morning while on the phone with AT&T because my phone keeps turning off in its sleep and he told me this update should fix this issue. I he was likely talking out of his assistant but att is gonna follow up with me on Wednesday to see if it is still turning off. So far this is my third LG E970 and they have all died in their sleep and I'm sure it was software. I hope this update fixes this.

Apps disappearing? I've never seen this
