alas I have sent my euro titan back to htc repair in Houston to get the gps checked out, after numerous roms including stock roms I was very irritated at how unreliable turn by turn navigation was on my device, there was a time it worked perfectly and then just flat out failed.
I worry though that once htc evaluates it and it does work for them because it does occasionally work but fails more so than not, that they will do nothing for me, I pray for a spanking new titan handset from the phone warranty gods, in the meantime, I am using nokia 2300 dumbphone that looks like a womans lipstick lol, oh how the mighty have fallen sigh
I'm afraid all the,ll do is update the software...
ugh you think so? I had done numerous factory resets various roms and the same gps tracking problem occurred, I want a new phone!
I hope your wishes come true
pray to the phone gods for me love!

OK so I'm getting bored of my X10i as there is pretty much nothing you can do with it and I'm probaby going to go back to a winmo based phone.
I've had many x1s and loved that phone however I want something new, I've also have the Touch Pro2 and while it was brilliant I found the camera rubbish and it was just too 'thick'.
I've decided to go for the HD2 (I think after the x10 I wont notice a massive size increase, except screen obviously) however I'm stuck between getting a 2nd hand one which was on T-Mobile or Orange (UK for both).
The 'physical' branding on the T-mobile handsets seam less obtrusive so I think I'll go for that. My question is does anyone see a problem in getting an (UK) T-mobile branded HD2, debranding it and flashing costume ROMS & chaning the radio? I'll be using it on Vodafone (UK).
Thanks for the help, hope to be visiting this part of the forums more over the next few months.
you should have no problems at all with either, the phones are identical. might have to pay fifteen quid to get it unlockedbut that's it.
sam is the expert so no worries on that score. But i would advise caution on buying a second hand hd2. Just make sure the phone has no issues due to heat problems.
I know quite alot of hd2's switch off when they overheat and this results in normally needing a new motherboard etc. so make sure you test the phone before you buy it.
Good luck and i am sure you will luv your new phone.
Brilliant guys, thanks for the advise. Unfortunately I can't text the phone as I'm buying from CEX (I have vouchers to use plus I'm getting aboutn £200 in vouchers for my x10).
If the worst happens I have 12 months warranty or I'll just send it to HTC to get fixed... hopefully...

Ahhh i see. in that case mate i am sure it will be fine. It really is a great phone. Perhaps you should check out an energy rom?
Enjoy the phone!
I actually used the Engery ROMS on my X1 so I think it will be good to get back to it!
Thanks again guys!
I got mine from cex and it was on o2. Get a grade a stock as this is like new. Mine had the seal on everything even the phone hadn't been used on the network.then I went to the link on the o2 websiye and they give you the unlock code for free.

Hi, i have gone through multiple threads on xda and google to find a solution, but could find none. finally posting out of desperation.
I had WP7 and android from SD (through MAGLDR) on my HD2. for WP7 i had upgraded the radio to 2_14_50_04. But my data and cell phone signal kept dropping in both wp7 and android. after trying a couple of other radios, i decided to go back to an old radio. So i went into bootloader and installed 2_07_51_22_2. The install was successful and thats it, the phone went dead.
No bootloader, no lights, no vibration, no hard reset/soft reset, nothing from the phone. Tried every possible combination of keys, nothing. The only glimmer of hope is that when i connect the HD2 to the computer, it recognizes a USB input and tries to install but cannot. When i plug it out, it makes the usb disconnection sound, so i am hoping there is still some life in it.
Battery was around 80%, so cannot be battery issue (tried charging it again, no luck)
Any help please anyone. I am not able to get into the bootloader, but the usb is being recognized. is there a solution from this kind of problem?

Yep you bricked your phone. You made the mistake by flashing a .51 radio which is only for non T-mobile hd2 phone. Since you have a tmobile phone you can only flash .50 radios. Your phone now has a radio that is incompatible with it so it wont turn on. Good news is that there may be a way to unbrick it. Here is a link that may help you unbrick if you have HSPL installed which you do.

Thanks dimension. But i actually tried the steps in this link. Step 11 there asks me to put device in bootloader. But I am not able to get to the bootloader screen at all. Do you know how i can do that?
You can't.
that link is no good to you, it needs the phone to be able to power on.
There is no fix other than jtag or repair center.

You may be right, but in all hope you should still try it even tho your not able to see the boot loader screen. It may work for you because your computer detects your phone. At this point I would try anything...or cry because I can't live a day without this phone. If it does not work then send it in for repairs which would cost $100 or so, but at least you wont have to pay $250+ for another HD2.

i know i cant too. the last 2 days have been pretty depressing. I am now tired of seaching, can anyone point me to a thread as to how to get it repaired (i dont have a tmobile contract or insurance or warranty, so guess i will have to take it to a htc repair center or something). Any pointers would help. I am in the Atlanta, GA area.
Thanks

you should contact the member of this forum by the name of trashcan... he is the only person in the united states that has the jtag device used to re program the hd2

Guys, just joined the HD2 forums as I previously had a HD. Noticed this thread and checked my new HD2 T-Mobile (UK) phone and the radio is 2.07.51.22.2 which makes a mockery of your statement regarding the .50 radio, unless I am missing something (which is always possible).
Ooops, just realised that this forum is for USA phones only. Apologies.

I made the rookie mistake of flashing the wrong rom too, careless on my part. I've contacted HTC Customer Support and put in for RMA, with fingers crossed they won't catch the flashing of illegal software. I know it's a long shot, but we'll see. Worst case scenario I pay for shipping and the $15 fee for them to diagnose my phone. I'll repost if successful.

Hi Community,
I am writing again because I wanted to share my story about my UK Titan I have had for over a year now. I had won this titan at a windows phone party provided by microsoft and i was ecstatic about winning it, it wasn't until 6 months later that the navigation on my titan started to FAIL. It simply would not lock onto my location and tell me the next turn or my continuing direction for whatever navigation software I was using.
I sent it back to HTC for repair and it was fixed actually the navigation worked perfectly but then I had an issue with a loose battery back cover and purchased some non oem covers that did not fit securely either.
So my idea on a solution for this problem was to buy another uk euro htc titan from europe which I did and lo and behold its navigation failed miserably as well! I had since sold my original uk titan and have sent my current UK titan back to htc for repair THREE TIMES, I am not kidding i sent it back to htc for repair 3 times, i wrote long explanatory letters to please test this device before you send it back to me on but obviously this request reached no one.
I have had many horror stories having my titan fail in giving me directions but the worst was when i was at a party near the border ( i live in san diego) on a very foggy night and could not see 5 feet ahead of me, I was driving aimlessly looking at my navigation begging it to lock and tell me where to go , i almost reached hte border into mexico and had to figure out on my own how to get home, and to make it worst i continued to watch my titan as i drove and the navigation came to life when i was almost home!
I have opened a new escalated dispute with HTC in that there must be some resolution to fixing this navigation issue, and that is pending. I just can't understand how my first uk titan had an initial navigation problem i sent it back for repair and it worked perfectly but sold it (which was a dumb move) only to import a new one from the uk and its navigation gps fails miserably every time.
oh and recently i figured out how to get my navigation to work, when i am in my car, i have to put my titan on the dashboard ALL THE WAY to the edge past my steering wheel and in about 20 seconds or more the navigation will start to work! and it will work perfectly, but it shouldnt be like this i shouldn't' have to play with the phone in different positions with a clear view of the sky to get it work. If i set the device say on my center console in front of the radio, it stops working again.
i have become obsessed with my phones navigation and getting it to work, i dont want to upgrade to wp8 because:
1. I love my phones big screen
2. the removable battery
3. 7.8 custom roms have much more haking/customizing freedom than current wp8
4. the titan has been "jailbroken" for custom roms
so i ask has anyone else experienced this issue? any idea or solutions on homebrew solution to fix maybe?
update resolved!
after sending my uk international titan back to HTC FOUR TIMES, they have fixed the gps hardware portion of my phone, i can now use any turn by turn nav app and it works it freaking works so happy! moderator please close this thread
I bought my M7 brand new from eBay and everything worked fine when I got it. Somehow between unlocking the bootloader, installing recovery, rooting, and installing this (M7 Unofficial T-Mobile 1.29.401.13 OTA GSM Deodex) ROM, the vibration no longer works. I can feel an EXTREMELY faint vibrate. So faint that i had to mute the TV and put my ear to the phone to hear it.
What can I do to try to get this taken care of?

OK so it's definitely busted. I ran the vibration diagnostic (*#*#3424#*#*) mode and ran the vibration test. If I knock the phone around a bit it comes back but never lasts more than a few seconds. Will T-mobile honor the warranty if I bought the phone from eBay and have unlocked my bootloader?
Okay, I had this problem with another phone I had (HTC Sensation 4G). I found myself with little vibrations, so faint that it wasn't noticeable in my pocket. Instead of going back to another stock ROM I left it the way it was. A few days later my speaker shut completely down, so I freaked out and installed a different ROM. Speaker didn't work, vibrations worked though. I called HTC and they told me I screwed something up in the phone's circuitry. My recommendation would be to go to a different ROM, if that doesn't work, go stock, and if you still have problems call HTC.

I reflashed my stock ROM backup I made and its the same thing. I'll text myself and sometimes it vibrates and sometimes it doesn't.
If you have it covered with insurance by T-Mobile then I see why not unroot it, lock the bootloader and return it to T-Mobile. It's sure worth a shot!

Got it off eBay. Whats the manufacturer warranty on these things?
Usually HTC would charge you a hundred something, I usually buy my phones from anywhere other than T-Mobile and still get insured by them. If you've insured your phone it should still be covered through T-Mobile. Try that first because I know to replace a damaged phone through T-Mobile is a sure a hundred dollars and not a day without a phone because it gets replaced in like 1 day if anything.

I just got back from tmobile they told me since I didn't buy it at tmobile and i'm prepaid they can't help me. I'm going to get a refund through ebay. The description stated the phone was new and defect free but it isn't so according to ebay's policies I'm eligible for a refund.
I think I'm going to buy ANOTHER M7, when I get it go to t-mobile to transfer my service to the new one, then send the old one back through ebay buyer protection for a refund. I'll be out almost $600 until the ebay refund goes through though.

if you bought it brand new, its a 1 year warranty with HTC, you can do t his through T-Mobile and they will charge you $20 to call and deal with it for you however, since we dont have SOFF, they will know you rooted it, there is this video that says rooting does not void your warranty so if you can prove to HTC that you rooting did NOT cause this, they shouldn't care

Is this $20 fee documented somewhere? Although I believe you I can't really point to an xda thread as source if the guy in the store says they don't do that.
Also, I'd be out a phone during this process right? And what if HTC tells me that me rooting my phone caused the vibration hardware to malfunction?

Okay then, if you bought it brand new, you have the receipt, you still have HTC 1 year warranty. You put it back to stock, and you tell them there is a problem with your phone. The vibration is off and its too weak. Then thats it. You will be out of a phone, if they do notice its rooted, which they probably wont if you resort it back to 100% stock and lock the booloader thought I am not sure about this, you can try to argue that it started happening way before you rooted it to fix an issue they are at fault here.

I bought it from eBay, no receipt. I could ask the person I bought it from for their receipt I guess. And if I brought it back I would put it back to stock but the bootloader would still say relocked and tampered since we don't have an RUU for t-mobile yet.

Yeah basically so you will have to argue with then that this happened before you flashed the new Rom thinking that would fix it. My phone vibration starts strong and gets weak but it last like a good minute just vibrating in a decreasing way.
.I was considering rooting and flashing the new 1.29 update because ny buttons don't work eithe but since we don't have SOFF they will know
I bought my s3 in March of this year, and everything was working just fine until May. It's an awsome phone and I love it. However, since May, my phone no longer connects to 4g EVER and the 3g comes and goes and never stays connected for more than 10 minutes while in use. I've NEVER even come CLOSE to reaching my plans provided 2.5GB of data, so I know that's not the issue. The phone has never been dropped, or wet, as I am always very delicate with my phones. I have never placed it too close to the TV...
I contacted Boost mobile. They gave me a long list of things to try. I have tried EVERYTHING: making sure the mobile networks is checked, preferred network setting CDMA/LTE, soft reset, clear browser cache, update PRL, profile update, software update, firmware update, ##72786#, and even did a factory reset. Nothing helped. Boost said there was nothing else they could do for me, and that I needed to contact samsung.
Samsung said the only way for them to find the problem is for me to send them my phone, and wait 2 to 4 weeks for them to revise it and send it back. That's not an option as I need my phone monday through friday for my job. (UPDATE: I got so irritated with this problem that I went ahead and bought an LG Volt, since I didn't have the money to buy another galaxy. It's nice but I don't like it as much. I'm still afraid to send the Galaxy into Samsung. They have expressed to me that if they can't find an issue(just my luck), or if they find the issue to be my fault(IE I put the phone too close to a credit card magnet or some dumb crap like that), then they will charge me not only for the parts and labor, but for the return shipping... and we all know that they'll charge me way more than the phone is worth.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if there's anyway to fix it without having to send my phone in to samsung? I have been told, also, that I could try reflashing the phone to it's original firmware and software, but I am afraid of screwing the phone up since I've never done anything like that before.
Thanks!
