Missing EXIF Data - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I've just noticed that since the last upgrade (give or take a couple of days - can't remember exactly when the upgrade happened) that all the photos I take have no EXIF data - apart from Make, Model and if it's turned on Location.
Andorid 2.3.7, Build 6.0.A.3.75 (T-Mobile UK version).
Is anyone else having the same problem, and if so have you found a fix?
Alternatively does there exist an alternative app that stores the data and can be launched pressing the shutter button when in standby? (even better if it doesn't stop playing the current song - argh!!!)
The main bit that is annoying me is the missing date/time taken field

I've used the SG Generic 75 ROM and had no issues and the CH Generic ICS ROM and I've taken photos with the both and all the exif data has been stored.

Hmm, DDMS says the following when you take a photo
07-07 18:05:37.058: ERROR/CMarlinMediator(139): [721411536] ERROR : const sony::drm::CTime sony::drm::CMarlinMediator::getTrustedTime() calling tt_GetTrustedTime. return code 588120065
Tried disabling "Use network provided values" for the time to no effect

stock ICS phone app bug

Hello,
can anybody confirm that the following bug of the phone application is not fixed in the new version (I9100XWLPD). It's even worse.
Let's assume
you have the following contacts:
Andi ABCD
Andreas JHGHJG
Andreas FUGZU
Andree KJHKJH
With I9100XWLP7_I9100DBTLP5_DBT (this is confirmed by samsung):
If i open the phone application and type "And" the number of matches is 4. If i click on "4" a list with the 4 contacts is displayed.
If i type "Andreas" (the complete name) the number 2 is displayed. But if i click on 2 nothing happens.
I hoped that this problem will be solved with
I9100XWLPD_I9100XXLPW_I9100NEELP4_HOME
But know, if i click on "2" the screen is black. After some time a message appears, that the application is stopped and the home screen is shown.
Thanks
Niels
Never had that issue in any ics, which ends with a crash.
Roms tried lp7, lp9, lpd.
Hello,
some details about this problem.
I'm not searching inside contacts. I'm using the stock dialer app (samsung).
I dial 263 (= AND)
All contacts containing 263 or AND (or 2 =A|B|C 6 = M|N|O 3 = D|E|F) are found (number of found contacts) and displayed after clicking on the number of found contacts.
As soon as the number is long enough to contain a local area delimiter, the number of found contacts is still ok, but i cannot open the list with the matching contacts.
Local area delimiter: The dialed number 2637327 is automatically changed to 2637/327
It seems that the number of matching contacts is calculated with 2637327 but the list should be displayed with 2637/327 (no matching conact).
In my scenario all contacts are retrieved from an exchange server.
Niels
no idea what you just described
Hello,
Look at this image as example:
http://www.mobiflip.de/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/sgs2-dialer.jpg
Let's assume the following contacts:
Andi ABCD
Andreas JHGHJG
Andreas FUGZU
Andree KJHKJH
-Home screen
-click on phone (not contacts)
-dial 263 ( = AND)
-First contact (Andi) is shown. Next to it there is a 4 (4 matches) (in the picture there is a 2)
-click on 4: list with contacts is shown
-close list
-dial 2637327 (Andreas)(2637/327 is shown as number. The / is automatically added because 2637 is a german area code)
-First conctact (Andreas) is shown. Next to it there is a 2 (2 matches)
-click on 2: app is crashing
It's crashing as soon as the number contains the separator (/)
Niels
Just use your contacts.

I talked about this bug already and noone listened...
Now we have a thread about it.
This is present in LP7 LP8 LP9 DXLP9 and XWLPD as well.
Use the t9 dialer select the name, clear the number, search again, lock screen, make a call, search, clear and so on. Sooner or later the t9 stops responding nad you get a big black nothing where the search results are supposed to be.
It is not fixed in XWLPD.
the bug with the "/" also in contacts
hello,
i have the same problem on my SGSII(stock rom).
1. when I try to dial a number it pusts a "/" after second ot third digit and the drop down menu is not working sfter that.
2. i tried to add a contact and when started to enter his number also a "/" sign apeeared after the second digit
Well, I have never experienced that issue on the dialler... maybe a malware/virus infection? I'm not shure about that but I have been reading a lot of malware attacks on android devices last 3 months... maybe you want to investigate a little more about that...
The only issue I experienced on ICS 4.0.3 stock rom was inestability with some apps...
I've had this issue too - albeit intermittently. I just stop the dialler application from the task manager, relaunch and it works almost always.
The frequency of the issue itself is so rare for me that it's not a game breaker - but yeah - annoying at times.

[Q] 2 Major problems following JB Stock update (Gmail and Camera)

Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone has experienced the following issues. Following an OTA update to JB, I have noticed 2 serious issues which I can't seem to shake. Firstly, the back camera is not working. When loading the stock camera app, the output of the camera just shows weird static/green lines.. a bit like what it used to look like when try to play an NTSC video tape on a PAL system (yes I'm that old ).
Secondly, and more importantly as I use this for business, is that Gmail's "Show quoted text" function does nothing. So when I receive a forwarded email, I tap the "Show quoted text" button and nothing happens, making it impossible to read the forward.
Steps to resolve this issue that I have taken:
1) Force closed both Gmail and Camera Apps, then cleared data. No change.
2) Factory reset from system menu - no change, and now I have to set up my Prime again!
I don't want to flash anything for now, as this is a work device I am not allowed to install custom binaries (i know I could probably cover my tracks but really don't wanna risk much with such an expensive device).
If anyone has any tips or ideas I would very much appreciate the help.
Cheers all

[Q] Android 4.3 Camera Security Bug

Android 4.3 Camera Security Bug - Samsung Galaxy Nexus upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3 via OTA.
Anyone who recently upgraded can try and replicate this issue.
After upgrade launch the camera, try to set as default settings as you can (not sure if this matters, but try turning off the camera flash).
Use the rear facing camera, press the shutter button as fast as you can, look in the gallery. You might find that photos you previously took and deleted have resurfaced.
Try the same thing with the front facing camera.
I was able to "recover" photos taken and deleted a couple weeks ago using this method. I'm guessing that something in the software can't keep up so it finds old photos and uses them for some reason. After a few rounds of doing this, the problem went away, so maybe it cleared out some kind of cache or used up whatever leftover deleted photos there were.
Anyone else able to replicate?
Whole photos or just the thumbnail? I've had a similar thing on an archos tablet where the thumbnail is an old, deleted photo, but when you select it to display full size, it's the one that was just taken.
Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
It was the whole photo viewed in the gallery. Swipe left from the camera app and the previously deleted photos were viewable. Tap once, they fill the screen, pinch to zoom they enlarge. I didn't try downloading them to my computer through USB. The problem went away after a few rounds of doing this and deleting all available photos, it was quite disconcerting in terms of privacy. The front camera and rear camera seemed to have their own separate caches of deleted photos as the issue happened with each independently. I ended up doing a factory reset which hopefully will be good enough. Nothing special about my device, Galaxy Nexus GSM, purchased from the play store, always upgraded through OTA, never unlocked, never custom ROMs, never rooted, etc...

Photos not in proper order after import from iCloud

I've moved all my stuff over from iCloud to my Mate 20 pro and google photos. In the google photos app When doing this I for some reason manged to get the photos all messed up in order and it looks like it has all the videos first and then all the photos come at the end. With approx 10k photos/videos this is a complete mess and I can't find my photos anymore. I used the huawei app for transfering files from my iphone xs to the mate when I first booted this thing up.
If I go to the Gallery and select "albums" and then "all photos" it's looks like its sorted by last change date and that is when I imported the photos to the phone or the order it was imported with pictures first and then videos. If I view them in "photos" instead of "albums" like above then it's in correct order. I can sorta work around this in the builtin gallery but if I open the facebook app I can't select any album and then all the photos are displayed in wrong order so I can't find what I'm looking for. Snapchat is the same way and prolly other apps aswell so I would like to fix this at the root of the problem
i have the exact same issue here after moving all my content from my microSD. I even tried to update the exif information and set different dates but i can't manage to sort the photos in the proper order. i still have several ones that are displayed first despite having an older exif date .... this is only the case with the mate 20 pro, all ly samsung phones recognize the dates in the proper order.... i even tried several photos apps....
Good thing that I'm not alone at least. I found some apps that could change the last changed date of the pictures according to EXIF shotdate but it was paid and since I don't know if that's the problem I didn't go for it. Did you try to change last changed date to the same as exif shotdate to see if it sorted it properly then?

Click to collapse
Did you find a solution to this? Still a complete mess here but I haven't tried anymore. Not much info about this other than old threads :/
I've used a modded Sony Xperia Album app on all my phones, since I actually owned a Sony many years ago. Sorts by creation date, looks great and works perfectly

Incorrect position information on practically all photos

I may have come across an error in the Find X2 Pro's camera software.
However, the camera software is faulty. With recordings and photos of my hikes (with Komoot tracks), I can 100% prove that since the first day (!) the GPS position, which the camera saves with an image, is sometimes several km away from the actual position . The error occurs systematically. Not for all photos but for about 30% of all photos on a day trip. If I take the same shots with a GCAM app (installed on the Find X2) instead of the original Oppo camera, the position is exactly right. The two screenshots attached show the difference between the GCAM and Oppo cameras.
The GPS works. The GPS position in the komoot track is correct, only the photo is shown far off the track.
Resetting the smartphone to factory settings and reinstalling it did nothing.
I was waiting for the update to Android 12 or ColorOS 12. It came with a new camera SW. Despite this, the error still occurs and it only works with the Oppo camera with a GCAM.
I claim that my problem is not a defect in my smartphone, but a SW error in all Oppo cameras, although I cannot find any references to this on the internet.
What do you think about that? Anyone have the same problems?
