I m new to xda... I need step by step instructions for rooting x10i running 2.3.3.
Once i tried with flash tools 0.2.9.1 but i ended up in crashing my android!

Man, follow all steps, there's no secret. When u did the last flash, do you know what went wrong?
No... It showed some "busybox" stuff, "pushing" some files.... Then asked me to reboot and upgrade kernel. On flashing n clicking upgrade... My fone became dead!

I know many websites sport the process but at the end I get confused. Some say to reboot the phone, some say to wait until reboot, some even say to pull out the battery!

Simply reflash and re-root, lol.
I'l try em all. But "dark nightmare" i am able to reflash.... BUT my fone never wakes up. I got the SE engineers to fix it

i had same problem with u milton.bain...wait for the root button to appear...but it does not appear...i waait 4 10 minutes..still do not appear..i had try rooting my x10 2.3.3 for many time..but the same problem happen..stuck at se logo..is it our phone with bootloaders???is it we have to unlock the bootloaders 1st??someone please help me
Dean_abu... I got my phone rooted brother. Look don't read the instructions. First of all watch at least 4times the video on youtube featuring doomlord's method. Then read the instructions. Run the flash and parallely keep the video running. (pause the video for convenience). It will help you, as it did me!

U need to reflash phone from flashtool to loose root...
I have rooted my device running 2.3.3. I hv installed xrecovery. I installed update.zip using xrecovery. But when I'm Trying to install a custom rom from xrecovery this is what i get :
"Installing: SDCARD: X10-CM7-V011-XperiaArc-theme.zip
Finding update package...
E: Can't move /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or/dev/block/mmcblk0)
E: Can't mount SDCARD: X10-CM7-V011-XperiaArc-theme.zip
Installation aborted."
Now, When I go back to retry or Report Error or Install Update.zip... This is what I get:
"E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or/dev/block/mmcblk0)
(Device or resource busy)"
I am helpless guys!

if u dont want to go for rooting 2.3.3
flash to stock 2.1 and then root it install xrecovery and if u want to use a custom rom install through xrecovery....
if u want to use stock rom ,..theres a custom zip of a stockrom somewhere...use it..

If u install custom recovery u can backup restore flash new roms & kenel...& rooting doesnt makes games lagg free...for it an kernel capable,of overclocking is needed...fserves ir franco with mik 6.5.8 is best ...!

Anytime you root, you can OC...you really have to pay alot of attention to the stickies. There is alot of useful information that dwells in those threads, this is a community who will give you advice but the rest of it lies solely on what you want to learn.. YouTube and Google are your best friends,so use your resources.. if we give you all the answers you will bebef learn for yourself

Then flash recovery, you should be able to do it threw Rom Manager on the market. Which will need superuser. Flash the recovery, I recommend doing a backup, then install this rom,

by after it downloading, hit it and click rom manager.
Select wipe everything.
Then you will need to install gapps from the same place you got the rom. This will give you google apps. Enjoy!
