how about in CWM? i mean the nandroid backup

Note that external data stored on the SDcard (such as Maps, textures, ...) will not be included in the Titanium Backup. At least not by default.
CWM compresses all app/storage backups by default afaik.

[Q] "nandroid backup"

Probably a stupid question, but is "nandroid backup" that's required e.g. to flash Task's ROM the same as the backup I do using Titanium Backup? I noticed TB does not backup whole Tab, as it is only 2-2,5Gb in size, while on my Tab I have some 10-11Gb of storage occupied (apps, photos, movies, mp3).
Is it the same, then? If not, do I need to use some other tools to do a proper "nandroid backup"?
Titanium Backup
1. What can Titanium Backup back up ?
All the applications you have installed, included protected ones,
All the data and settings of these applications,
Most (nearly all) of your phone's settings and data.
Titanium Backup 3.8.0+ will also backup the system applications from your ROM, not just their settings and data.

A Nandroid backup is a backup of the whole system, you need to have Clockworkmod recovery installed to be able to perform a 'nandroid' backup.
You do a nandroid with ClockworkMod recovery. It's a advanced recovery instead of the stock. You can install this recovery with Rom manager from market.
This nandroid takes a snapshot of your whole system. And you can use it to go back to when the backup was made.

Thanks guys. I'm rooted and have CWM, so I'll try there. Cheers!

On the SD memory built into the Tab.

If you get the paid version you can send the backup to a Dropbox account. Well worth the peace of mind.

backups

hi,
sorry for the generic post but is it possible to clone my entire phone? i have cwm and titanium backup pro but the resulting backups are less than a gb.
on tb pro i did all apps and system data, i was expecting a huge backup, maybe 10gb but it was like 0.7gb.
any advice?

u want the whole rom, apps, data bckup,,,,,,so do a nandroid in the cwm recvery option----backup ...and u got a etire bckup....u can restore ur bckup point wen ever u want....
If you want to back up your entire Android OS and Apps then back it up in CWM Recovery. This will be the most complete backup
If you want to back up Apps only (including System apps) you can do this in Titanium Backup
App data wont be stored in CWM Recovery Backups such as additional downloaded game data (like gameloft games which can be around 1GB per game), nor will multimedia files which will remain on your internal or external memory.
If you want, you can specify in Titanium backup how much of the game data (data other than the apk itself) you wish to save. By default this is set to <=35MB if i remember correctly, but you can change this higher or lower.

you actually have "batch" option in titanium backup trial version itself, using which you can backup the apps based on certain scenarios
Clockworkmod backup. Then when switching, go to recovery, advanced restore and restore /data only.

As far as I know, cwm backs up both user apps and system apps with their data so if u restore it from there, the old sytem apps and data might conflict with the new one...so I would advise against it.
Use cwm and completely restore ur old Rom, make a backup usng tb and then flash ur new Rom... Safest way!

I think that will make so much easier for me the fact of testing more ROMs on my cellphone, thanks you
You can simply backup your apps and data via TB and
After installing a new ROM just restore APP+DATA via TB... best way to sort and backup and restore apps individually

You could also use yaffey to extract anything from a CWM backup:

On some clockworkmod versions you can do an advanced restore and just choose data. Never tried it but maybe give it a shot

Not recommendable....if your phone is on different ROM before backup, restoring the backup data into different ROM will make your phone bootloop (really bad cases) or lost statusbar/setting and etc (light cases)....
since he already make a backup then TB is the best choices...

You Think????
FYI : Backup from CWM contains the whole pack of the previous ROM....when you choose to restore data only, it restore all data including User Apps Data and System Apps Data....when System Apps Data is restore into a different ROM, you bet it going to make your phone into bootloop....
you are welcome to try it if you don't believe me....

I was talking about the selective backup of nandroid backup from TB. Ofc in a CWM data restore all apps(system+user) get restored. Im well aware of that and I wont be trying that
Anyways i think this tool is the best option right now. So thanks iOneX for the info :good:
A bit late I guess..
Well, I come here six months later, but Google brought me here...
I guess you're already using Online Nandroid Backup combined with Nandroid Manager. Just two days ago I restored user apps+data with Nandroid Manager from a backup created through Online Nandroid Backup. Both apps from H3r3t1c are really useful, specially working together.
Aside of this advice (surely already not needed) I was looking after a script to restore those user apps+data from a backup. I wanna include that script in my list of zips-to-flash in ZipInstaller
I'd appreciate any help. Cheers.
