I have Samsung Galaxy SIII which I bought from Rogers last week. It has an LTE SIM card and 6GB LTE plan. The phone is still locked to Rogers, although I bought the unlock code already but haven't tried it yet. Yesterday, when trying to make a phone call, it failed and showed me message "Not allowed by SIM". I restarted the phone and it was fine after that. This morning it happened again as I was trying to make another phone call. I turned the phone off, took out the battery and SIM card, reinserted them again and turned the phone back on. Since then it's been fine again.
So my question is, is this a faulty microSIM or is this a problem with the phone?
Thanks for any help!

Not Allowed By Sim
I have had the same issue with 32GB SIII on Rogers, it has been happening as frequently as 2 times a day! I had read up on the issue and people suggested getting a new microSIM card. I went to Rogers last night, and they replaced my microSIM. No issues there, however when I woke up this morning, "not allowed by sim" showed up again, and seems to enjoy taunting me.
I will be returning to Rogers tonight, so I will let you know what they do/say.
Anyone else having the same issue?
Thanks.
Not Allowed By Sim
Yes, I'm having the same issues. Had the phone (Samsung Galaxy SIII / 16GB - SGH-I747M) for about 10 days. "Not Allowed By Sim" flashes on the screen and kills any outgoing calls. To correct the problem, I reboot the phone. I've been having to text people and ask them to call me - strange that text message go but not calls. The problem is sporadic and doesn't seem to be correlated to anything I'm doing with the phone at the time.
I returned to Rogers; they felt it was a faulty sim card. They replaced the sim card yesterday and I was sure it was fixed, but the same error showed up this afternoon. I went back to Rogers for a second visit so they could take a look...while I was there the outgoing calls were no problem. They won't replace it until they can 'see' it with their own eyes. I'm going to head in the next time it happens in hopes they can see it in action. I'll keep you posted.
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated!
Thanks.
For the record, it happens to me with a Fido sim card.
I am using the 32GB Rogers phone.
Anyone find a fix?

Does this issue happen to anyone with a custom ROM, or is it just stock?

Mine is completely stock. Two new microsim cards and still occurring occasionally.
Same problem here
I have had a Galaxy SIII for about two weeks. My sim card is brand new and put in the phone when I purchased it. The problem with "Call not allowed by SIM" has happened three or four times that I have noticed. It happened this afternoon, so I drove straight to a Rogers Wireless store. Of course by the time I got there the phone was fine and made calls. The gentleman working there suggested replacing the sim card for $11 and said I was the second SIII owner to come in today complaining of this problem. I decided to wait and see what happens.
What the heck is going on?? So not impressed.
I'm getting this too. It's happened twice in the week I've had it.
It is obviously not a sim card problem if it is happening on both Fido and Rogers sim cards and new cards are not solving the problem.
try Settings > More settings > Mobile networks > Network mode > HSPA only
I always get disconnected of Bell network. I'm trying this settings, I know you will loosing LTE for 4G but..
if its more stable. It is probably a network instability or phone driver issue... don't know.

Has this worked for you?
I always set my phone to GSM only when I have wifi (home or office). I got the "not allowed by sim" error while on GSM (2G) not 4G.

hmm then try to change your sim card. They normally do it for free and if still happening, could be the cellphone.
On my side, i'm with Bell but its really not better. I'm always losing network connection and GSM only seems to fix my problem. The cellphone doesn't like have a low signal on lte.
Not Allowed By Sim
Roger's has replaced three sim cards and finally a brand new handset and this is still happening. It seems to be more specific to something I've installed or something I do with the phone since I find it hard to believe I've received two 'faulty' handsets. I have a feeling that everytime I disconnect the phone from my BlueAnt S4 Handsfree device, I get the error message and can't make outgoing calls until I restart the phone. Has anyone else noticed a correlation between disconnecting from Bluetooth and the error message??

I don't think it's related to Bluetooth. I use Bluetooth daily in my car.

Well, I am headed into Rogers today. If there is an outcome I will post it here. Very happy (not happy, but you know what I mean) to hear this is not just me and this particular SIII. I love the phone but have had it with this happening.
Bump
Seems to be happening randomly on my Rogers sgs3 i747, in both cases solved by a reboot. Perhaps once every 7 or 8 calls, with and without bluetooth connected.

You don't need to reboot every time it happens. Simply turn on Flight mode and turn it off and outbound calls will be working again.

Same thing with mine. I first encountered the error last night. Gf was calling me, so I opened up the notification bar, turned on bluetooth, and connected my headset. By the time I was done, she had already hung up, so I quickly called her back and got the "Not allowed by sim" error. I kept calling her back and kept getting the stupid error. It wasn't until she called me back 10 minutes later, that I was able to talk to her.
I just tried making a call right now, without bluetooth, and I got the error again. I rebooted my phone and the call went through.
Related
Rebooted my TBolt and when it started up it popped a big lock screen message about the SIM card not being recognized. Phone booted up rest of the way anyways, but kept popping that warning occasionally.
Rebooted again and it seems to have gone away.
Just curious if this is just a fluke or the sign of something worse to come.
Any one else seen this behavior?
Keep in mind, this is a VZW 4G sim that they installed 10 weeks ago and never had any problems with...no attempt to do anything like use some 3G AT&T SIM, etc, etc.
I noticed this behavior for the first time today, right after I rebooted as well. I immediately tried calling my Google Voice number (didn't want to try calling a friend) and it went through, so I'm not sure if the error message is valid or not.
considering this phone has some of the same insides as the hd7, that does not suprise me.
I get the error occasionally of no sim on my hd7 and reboot always makes it go away. Happened maybe 4-5 times since November.
Thanks for the replies. Only three one time so far, so probably nothing to worry about based on both your experiences.

Have you reactivated a 3g phone on your account? This voids the 4g sim.

I have a Bell atrix phone unlocked and currently on Rogers system. Once a day i get the call ended 0:00 error when attempting to make a call, or I can't receive a call. A reboot fixes the problem. Not sure if its a setting that i have in my phone, I have done a factory reset, but i still happens. Any solutions. Called motorola and i get the famous "we never heard of this problem, send your phone in for repair" line. HELP please its driving me nuts.
Same problem here but I have an AT&T Atrix on Straight Talk
i also have had this problem, at&t phone
have changed radios, roms, still have the problem.
i'm going to ask for a sim replacement, see if that works.

Let me know how that works for you. Getting a replacement sim from straight talk is a pain in the A$$!!!
For some reason it just started hanging up whenever i try to make a call with google voice or without...
I uninstalled and reinstalled google voice with the same issue...
Phone is working fine randomly... Still says 0:00 when I hang up after a long call. lol
Did the same thing to me on one certain phone number with Att cyanogenmod.
I remember deleting the area code off and dialing again for the fix.

Just very strange when I originally made the switch to my verizon phone to AT&T it was because Verizon had no service at my work and AT&T had excellent service...
it worked beautifully for a months, always had HSPA+ with the Atrix or "3.5G" with the E71
Now i always have Edge or nothing and it's dropping calls like crazy and doing this 0:00 thing...
Going to swap over to a new sim as well and see what happens.
Just got my new sim and ported over.
Still stuck on edge with 1-3 bars where before i was always 3g-hspa+
I'll check back in the 0:00 issue after i have made some calls
Hello
I have recently bought the HTC Rezound and have noticed that when i go to which from LTE on/off (*#*#4636#*#* in dialer, then phone information) there is a option for "Global Mode" and ones for "WCDMA Only" and "GSM Only"
I have seen websites saying that they can unlock the phone and it will work with any network?
But my question is, is this phone possibly a global phone?/GSM and WCDMA support?
UPDATE: Okay just got the htc rezound today and put in my T-Mobile UK sim card, and switched to "WCDMA only" mode, and without unlocking it picked up signal (i live in uk) it also says t-mobile in notifications, i checked and called the defice and the call was received.
UPDATE 2: Okay so I am able to receive and make calls, HAVE DATA (Go to thread at bottom of this post to find out how to get data to work ) and can receive texts BUT AM NOT ABLE TO MAKE THEM!
UPDATE 3 (24/01/2012): I can confirm you can receive signal and data with Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) and Gingerbread (GB) ROM's but the SMS not send problem is the same for all ROM's (until we get S-OFF and hopefully the Developers Port/Create a GSM or Hybrid GSM/CDMA radio )
UPDATE 4 (26/01/2012): I would like to say thank you to Droid Life, for the acknowledgment of my thread ,and hopefully with this spreading the word more we can get the Radio/Fix (after we get S-OFF) to the SMS/Texting not sending problem, and the HTC Rezound would be (like it should of been ) a fully World Phone . Check out the Page: http://www.droid-life.com/2012/01/26/htc-rezound-has-secret-global-radios-after-all/
UPDATE 5 (31/01/2012): Received a screenshot from kirasama1014 which shows the HTC Rezound was able to receive signal and DATA in on a Taiwan network!!!, a thanks to kirasama1014 for the screenshot
Screenshot: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0Bx...NmY4MC00ZmFmLWE2OWItODkwZGUwNzZhODEy&hl=en_US
UPDATE 6 (03/02/2012): The HTC Rezound has been confirmed to work and receive data on T-Mobile USA, same SMS issue for everyone (Hopefully fix soon ).
UPDATE 7 (06/02/2012): It has been suggested that the SMS issue could be down to framework being incompatible, and it has been said that DEVs may be working on this for us, so in advance THANK YOU!!! and hopefully we are closer to having the SMS issue out of the way!
UPDATE 8 (08/02/2012): BEST METHOD FOR DATA:
1. Go into Setting>>>Wireless and Networks>>>Wi-Fi Settings then pree the menu button (Physical button) and choose advanced.
2. When in advanced set 'Wi-Fi sleep policy' to 'After 15 min'.
3. Make sure you have entered correctly your APN settings for Mobile DATA/Internet AND SELECTED IT!.
4. Connect to a Wi-Fi Network (Preferably your home network).
5. Now turn off the phone screen/lock the phone (Do not turn it on anymore till after the last step)
6. Now go out of range of the Wi-Fi Network you are connected to, and when you think your out of range start timing 15 minutes (I usually wait 17 Minutes just to be sure) and remember to not turn on the phone screen until the time is up, and do not go back into range of the Wi-Fi Network you where connected to until the time is up!.
7. After time is up you should HOPEFULLY have DATA!!!!!
(I ALSO SUGGEST THAT YOU SET THE NETWORK TYPE TO WCDMA Preferred (Which is what I use, but this option will only work if your network/carrier supports it, and I'm guessing most do, and why not if you have tried everything else ))
This method worked 3 out of 3 times I tested for me, and I also suggest you do this when going out somewhere. HOPE THIS HELPS GUYS!!!
UPDATE 9 (20/02/2012): Still looking for fix to the SMS/Texting problem ,have just tried another suggestion of entering a PDU format of carriers SMSC number but still no luck (Apparently this works for AT&T so if you have them as your carrier you may be in luck).
UPDATE 10 (08/03/2012): There is now a Bounty thread in the HTC Rezound General section, for the Developer/s who solve the SMS/texting problem, so please if you also would like this problem fixed go to the thread and add a stated amount of at least $5 in either the thread as a reply, or Private message me with the amount and I will add your name to the list
UPDATE 11 (19/03/2012): People have tried and confirmed that the latest RUU is able to send SMS flawlessly, and also there is no annoying 'SIM Unknown' message on lockscreen!!! YAY!!!
UPDATE 12 (22/03/2012): I cannot test as I am away at the current time, but I think the ROM which allows SMS and doesn't have the Lockscreen 'SIM is from unknown source' message is the Sense 4.0 Alpha 2 by newtoroot, can anyone test?
FINAL UPDATE 13 (20/05/2012): Well Done Joelz, the only person/developer to show a real interest in the GSM capabilities of the HTC Rezound, and he has now succeeded in fixing the problem of SMS not sending!!! Well Done mate and please everyone show your appreciation
This will be the final update, so good luck to all GSM users/travelers owning the HTC Rezound and Thank You All! , HAPPY NEW YEAR ALSO!!!
Heres Where You Can Find The Fix (Once again well done Joelz): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26199933
AND FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE CUSTOM ROMS, YOU MAY HAVE TO THE 'TWEAKS' MENU IN SETTINGS AND THEN 'Phone Information' FOR THE *#*#4636#*#* MENU TO APPEAR)
Below is now the old pieces of writing from when I first got the HTC Rezound and was writing about the problems it (No Longer ) has
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MY OTHER THREAD:
Okay first off I can CONFIRM THE REZOUND IS A GLOBAL PHONE (lets just get that out of the way).
EVIDENCE
Okay so I purchased my HTC Rezound form an American eBayer and he shipped it to me just after Christmas (i live in the UK), i was already under the impression that the Rezound was a global phone but just before it arrived everyone was saying that it doesn't have the GSM or WCDMA networks which made me sad
But when it arrived i thought i would try what i thought would work, sooooo i place the sim card in the phone and powered it up. After setting it up i went to the phones dialer and dialed: *#*#4636#*#* and then went to phone information and changed the network type. I was shocked to find that there was many options including 'GSM only' and 'WCDMA only' . So i switched the phone to WCDMA only and the phone picked up signal and showed T-Mobile in the notification bar .
(I got my data by adding the T-Mobile APN and then going to wi-fi settings>>advanced and changed the time till wifi switches to mobile network to 15 mins (then waited 15 mins after screen lock))
OTHER POSSIBLE METHOD FOR DATA! 23/01/12 :
Enter APN settings (make sure this is correct for the Internet/mobile data of your SIM Cards carrier) Turn WiFi on and then turn it off.
Then make sure Mobile Network is turned ON, and make sure you are receiving signal.
Now take off the battery cover and leave off until you see that you have no signal (This is when there is a cross on the signal bars)
Now put the battery cover back on and wait for a moment and hopefully you should have DATA!!!

Problems (That i think can be fixed)
1.Lockscreen message that says "This SIM card is from an unknown source".
TEMP FIX (Until Reboot): If the ROM you are using has the tweaks menu (MikROM) then you can go to Miscellaneous Options>>>Choose Lockscreen Style and select 'Android Lockscreen', Then Restart or Hot Restart and change the option back to 'HTC Sense Lockscreen'. THIS WILL REMOVE THE 'This SIM card is from an unknown source' message, but this process must be done every time your battery dies or you turn off the phone.
(still better than the ugly message every time you turn on the phone screen).

Holly crap, I had just heard this as rumors when it was in production. But yes it definitely looks like its a global phone.
I never bothered to check. I just did and you are right it has global options as well as gsm. Hmm I'm going to call Verizon to get my unlock code

I Had My SIM Card Replaced Mid November And The Verizon Rep. Asked Me If I Went Out Of The Country; That To Me Sounds Like It Is A Global Phone.
This would be amazingly pleasant. I was just looking to buy a global phone.
I may have some pleasing news to share later on as i am going over families tonight and my cousin siad he would bring his phone with his UK sim card (T-Mobile) (he lives in the UK) and hopefully when i purchase an unlock code i can confirm whether this is a global/GSM supported phone or not
Fingers crossed!
I believe there was a thread on this when this phone first came out. They said this phone is set up exactly like the Thunderbolt and it is not a global phone. They said you could possibly use it on a CDMA network in Europe, but not on a GSM network. Someone just needs to ask VZW.

The truth about the htc rezound
I posted this on the rezound developers page but wanted the rest of the Rezound owners to know the truth about their phone. "THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE".
I spoke to HTC directly about this very thing. I discovered the other radios with the PHONE INFO APP (WCDMA, GSM (only), GLOBAL MODE, GSM+LTE/EVDO auto, GLOBAL LTE MODE) along with the standard CDMA+LTE/EVDO auto and CDMA auto (PRL). Also so confirmed by when I pulled of the back battery cover and exposed several of the gold plated radio antenna's. The HTC tech support manager said to me that HTC Rezound is a world phone despite Verizon's tech support claims that it will only work on Verizon's LTE/CDMA network. HTC's tech said that this phone will work any where in the world. All you need is the SIM card and the SIM Card unlock codes that Verizon should provide to you if you have been a customer long enough. She further said that you can ONLY GET THE CODES FROM VERIZON'S TECH SUPPORT, NOT FROM VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE.
She said with the SIM Card and Codes the phone will operate any where in the world where their is a cell phone signal. Depending on the Network it's hit or miss on having data service, but you will be able to receive and make call plus send and receive text no matter with or without data service.
VERIZON Doesn't advertise the Rezound as a world phone and will tell you it's not, they don't want us to know it's a world phone
Bottom line with all of the other great things this phone does: direct to tv plug, great camera, hd video,(Dr. Dre) Beats audio, speed, smoothness, ect...
This is the best phone on the best phone on the Market by far.
VERIZON Doesn't advertise the Rezound as a world phone and will tell you it's not, they don't want us to know it's a world phone. Why I wonder, I think we all know why.

It should prompt you for it as soon as you turn on the phone with anything besides a Verizon SIM in it. I'll update tonight. I'll let you know if Verizon gives me a hard time about the unlock code. Thanks.
OK, so update. I went ahead and inserted a "3" sim into my Rezound. The phone boots and says that "This SIM is from an Unknown Source."
It does not prompt for a SIM unlock code and does not pick up any service.
I am not surprised.

I received my new Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300) a couple of days ago and I'm on the AT&T Network here in the US. I have had my MicroSIM changed TWICE and still I'm getting dropped calls like crazy. I never had this problem with my SG2. Is anyone else with a S3 on the AT&T Network experiencing more than usual Dropped Calls and 3G Data loss (Web Pages not found, No Network Connection etc) - if so, did you fix the problem and HOW??? I have reset my APN (Cingular 410 / wap.cingular) to default so many times, it's ridiculous - any help is most appreciated
UPDATE:
I just installed the MicroSIM Card I bought on Amazon.com (SKU 73054) and removed the AT&T Furnished iPAD MicroSIM Card (SKU 72288) - the AT&T Tech admitted they gave me the wrong MicroSIM Card - TWICE. Proud to say that I am now getting 3 to 4 Signal Bars in My Basement where I was hardly getting 1 bar before. I highly recommend purchasing the 73054 Card from only ABE-123 on Amazon.com (all others are cut cards) to anyone that may be having Signal Issues. Mine is working perfectly. Are you sure you just don't have a phone with a defective radio??
No issues here.

Are you able to switch to 2G and see if you experience any dropped calls?
You know, I along with other users have noticed that the radio is not as strong as the... HTC One X...
But the HTC One X was made specifically for ATT wher ehte International version is not. I don't know why reception isn't as good but I do see my phone sometimes changing between 3G, H and H+. The signal is pretty weak.

If I switch to EDGE, I actually pick up an additional Signal Strength Bar - I sure hope I don't have a bad radio, I have no idea on how to check that...

Not to start an argument but having had the Lumia 900 and the One X, where I live, I found that the One X had a pretty poor radio when it came to reception.
The 1.85 update did help a bit, but the difference is noticeable when comparing it to the Lumia.

I don't know how to check if I have a bad radio - I'm about a quarter of a mile from a cell tower and I only have a couple of Signal Bars - but when I go to the AT&T Store, I get 4 bars but they probably have boosters in their store - I'm going back to AT&T tomorrow and plead my case, I have no idea what they will try next
Just a suggestion, but is it possible to reflash the image? Maybe a that would help?

Reflashing XXALE8 is tempting but I already rooted the phone and setup all my apps, I think I'll hold off on that till I get back from AT&T tomorrow but you make a very good point - i'm wondering if there is a later v4.0.4 firmware available for this UK Phone that might address the radio in this S3

That's not uncommon. A lot of the GSM for AT&T is on 850 and penetrates buildings better whereas 3G in most places is on 1900 Mhz.
When I switch between them in the house I always get better reception with 2G rather than 3G.

Did you call AT&T and see if there's a 3G issue in your area? Do you still have your S2? I'm curious if you put your sim in the S2 if your signal will be the same or better.

Unfortunately I sold my SG2 on eBay to offset the cost of this S3 - I purchased 3 MicroSIMs and 1 is a Genuine 3G AT&T MicroSIM from Amazon with a SKU of 73054 while the AT&T Store MicroSIM are used for the iPad with a SKU of 72288. I just wish I knew if this is a MicroSIM Problem or an APN Problem...

I've been using it on AT&T without any issues.

Thank You ALL - Problem Solved...
PROBLEM SOLVED:
I just installed the MicroSIM Card I bought on Amazon.com (SKU 73054) and removed the AT&T Furnished iPAD MicroSIM Card (SKU 72288) - the AT&T Tech admitted they gave me the wrong MicroSIM Card - TWICE. Proud to say that I am now getting 3 to 4 Signal Bars in My Basement where I was hardly getting 1 bar before. I highly recommend purchasing the 73054 Card from only ABE-123 on Amazon.com (all others are cut cards) to anyone that may be having Signal Issues. Thank You EVERYBODY for all your help and suggestions

Interesting.. How exactly does that work if you buy a MicroSIM off Amazon? Do you take it into the AT&T store and have them activate it or do it online?
The reason I'm asking is my SGS3 is coming tomorrow and given my luck with reception issues with the One X, I'm trying to explore all my options if I have problems. :S
I'm glad it was just a microsim card error and not a phone issue. I have to change my sim card every year because I start getting bad signal by that time. I swear the sim card manufacturer's put an expiration date on these sim cards so we have to buy a new one every year. At least in my case I do.

You can activate you MicroSIM ONLINE with AT&T (800-331-0500) and just tell them you want to activate you new MicroSIM Card and give them the 20 digit Numeric ICCID Number that is on the MicroSIM Card - it's really easy once you have the correct MicroSIM - Good Luck with your S3 - I Love Mine NOW
Does anyone else device jump back and forth from 3G, H and H+?

I wonder the same thing.
When I pulled out the sim tray for sd card noticed the other side had spot for sim tray filled in. I popped out plastic part and noticed SMS function is disabled. Me thinks once the LTE variant comes out we're could flash that software on the wifi variant and cellular might work.
yeah noticed that too, it seems to have the sim card reader circuit on the inside of the tablet so yeah might be a free upgrade down the line
Yeah kinda excited for that.
You will brick phone.
Why is that? I'm flashing the same software on the same device.
Even if you could flash the LTE enabled firmware on the wifi Tab S6, it won't enable LTE. There's no IMEI assigned to the SIM slot (which I doubt there even is a SIM slot.
You mentioned that SMS function is disabled. I may know why.
I have a Galaxy Note 10+ through T-Mobile and I was able to enable the "Call and Text on other devices" feature through the Advanced Features section of the settings on both the phone and tablet. I can now get SMS and Phone calls through my tablet, as long as the Tab S6 is connected to WiFi.
I do hope that the tablet can be LTE enabled in the long run but I think for now this is just a feature to share phone capabilities with your actual phone.

Yeah who knows i know with the one plus 7 pro snd 6t you could flash the interntional software and put a dual sim tray in the phone with the tmobile variants and it will do dual sim so hopefully it can be like that lol either way is whatever but that would be a cool added feature
I would love this, My tab is coming today, but EXTREMELY unlikely as that would mean they lied to the FCC and have the LTE baseband radios
Assuming it has a cellular radio, in addition to not having the s/w to support data or dialing, it doesn't have an antenna. While you may be able to insert a nano SIM in the card tray that doesn't mean there's anything in the tablet to read it.
Unlocked cellular tabs are XX5 and the carrier versions are XX7 while the Wi-Fi versions are XX0. You cannot flash a ROM that's not for your specified model number and this isn't new, it's always been that way. People have gotten Wi-Fi-only ROMs to work on cellular Tabs but it blew away all the cellular features. People have driven themselves nuts over time trying to activate the dialer and MMS on a XX7 by flashing XX5 s/w and no one's been successful. But many tablets got bricked trying. And both of those devices had an active cellular radio with all the correct supporting h/w. Do a search on XDA or browse older generation Tab forums to learn more.

Crazy thinking this would work. Best is to get an LTE version if you really need it ?
Seriously, this non story has been doing the rounds since at least the Galaxy S4 phone.
Samsung DO NOT build the modems into non LTE devices, however for manufacturing simplicity and spare parts reasons use the same combo Micro SD SIM adapter.
Anyone who believes this will work can I perhaps interest you in my private shares in the London Bridge Holding Company that I might be wiling to sell.
can anyone who has the T865/LTE model confirm that it includes the Samsung Phone app and you can place/receive calls with the T865 model? I have Tab S4 LTE that i use for work in the field and having the phone part of the tablet is a must for me. thanks to anyone who can reply to my question.

@vogemic-thank you sir. :good:
I have Verizon, i bought a samsung tabs6 (WIFI only from BestBuy). I read about two hours ago about being able to do Samsumg calling and texting using my samsung account on my verizon connected Note 10 plus , I enabled it and it works flawlessly, it uses my Note 10 plus remotely to make calls, however!, before all this i had downloaded My Verizon messeges app from the play store and i did the pairing barcode so i can get text on my tab s6 from my verizon phone number, it worked but no calls on my verizon messages app, "until" i enabled Samsung calling and text! the next time i opened my verizon messages i got a pop alerting me that i could now CALL from my verizon messages app so i enabled it. I tried calling right after and it worked!! i do not see the remote calling notification on my Note 10 plus when using the verizon messaging app.
#1. I work for Verizon retail but as far as my understanding a tablet must have a designated phone number with verizon (1×/3g/4g) to be able to receive text from the verizon network thru my verizon messaging app. The tablet was able to receive messages to my surprise. Although it did let me somewhat select the call option in my verizon messages it didnt work for calling at 1st.
2. Enabling Samsung calling and texting gives the tablet a "Voip" phone number? Is it my carrier number? Without an IMEI ID or SIM ID? And lets me call from a messaging app using my carrier phone #? ??
3. That was sick!! And if it helps anyone please dont thank me. ?
Wrong post.
