Can I make slow motion slower? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I know in the camcorder menu there is an option for slow motion. But is there an option to make the slow motion slower?
Red.

Unless HTC kept a speed limit on slow motion using software (unlikely without good reason, in my opinion), slow motion is pretty much limited to the speed of the camera itself. The smoothness of the slow motion is pretty impressive for such a small device, that I think the slow motion is as slow as the camera module itself can possibly capture.

Where is the setting for slow mo video? I can't find it in the settings.

^ In the stock camera tap the A in the top left, it is the top option.

But is there an option to change slowness?

That's a shame. Maybe the camera can be modded to go slower...
Red.

Might be able too, but will end up losing quality. Slow motion video is already pretty low quality.
Slow motion works by recording more frames per second and slowing play back down. It would be difficult to say the least to get high quality and a high frame rate.

Blurry camera?

I just got my amaze today. I was expecting a stellar camera experience but instead all my photos come out blurry with the stock camera app.
When I switch to CameraFX from the market it takes much better pictures however.
Any way to fix the stock camera? I assume this is not normal judging from the reviews I have read.

I've NEVER been able to get a pic to look like the elite pics in the pic thread. I just chalked it up as "operator dysfunction."
Maybe I will try a different camera app.

yea i also experience same.all my photos come out blurry with the stock camera app.
Just gotta play around with it, those other apps focus were and when you want them to, unlike the stock one. Never hurts to have a second one.

My stock camera is fine. Hit menu and check the resolution. Mine was set at low resolution by default. That and the other options.
It also helps to have a steady hand since it has a quick shutter

That's very true. It's fairly easy to get a bad snapshot if your not used to it.
I have not had a single issue like that. I think the stock camera is sick and I have tested alot if other camera apps.

tweak your brightness to contrast ratio and one key thing is always to get a good steady pic is set your camera in/on time mode (2 seconds is enough to hold it steady..)

Video shot entirely on my EVO LTE

Spent some time in PA last week and had fun with my new EVO LTE's slow motion video. The intro is using a program called Lapse It Pro, but the phone fell before we finished building the slide. Thought I would show off some creative capabilities of this phone since it's 2.0 aperture lens is why I chose this over all other smart phones.

Nice vid.
The slow motion is surprisingly clear. The resolution of mine drops when in slow motion. Is your camera app modified in some way? Was that the stock can app?

when you press the "A" icon on the camera where you change the auto, close up setting there at the very top is the option for slow motion

Recording in Slow Motion Looks really bad

I have seen a couple of videos on here where they were recorded in slow motion and those videos looked great, however, I have tried a few times and they always come out looking really bad. (grainy, and blurry). I have tried with all the settings left on auto and also setting things up manually as well (like white balance and ISO).
Is there settings that I am missing to make these videos look as good as they do while recording at normal speed?
Here is the link to the video I shot:

Also does the camera not record in HD while doing Slow Motion?
I can't help you on making it look better but it doesn't record in HD. The ending resolution ends up being 768 x 432.

I think it's HD on YouTube because the user had to edit it on the computer. (Add music) so I think he saved it in a way that YouTube thought it was HD.
I've noticed that I have to edit files in order for YouTube to have a HD option even though the phone records in HD and saves it as a .MP4.

Yeah, the camera does not do HD for slow motion, due to the significantly higher data rates the camera must sustain to do slow motion. It's essentially recording at 120fps or so, which is four times the speed it would record at otherwise. To record in HD, it would require four times the bandwidth and processing power that it does at normal speed.
I've had this phone since it came out and never knew it has that setting.
What is "HDR"?

There are other phones using android that CAN do slow motion HD recording. I assume that this is a software limitation on HTC's part rather than a hardware limitation as the camera on this phone is quite impressive to say the least. Even with my limited knowledge of the inner workings of the android software I would venture to guess that this can at least be brought to 720p slow motion recording. However a speedier SD card may be needed. Man I wish I knew how to dig into Android, I want this camera to be BEAST!

"Super Camera" app for G2

Hi all,
I was pointed to this thread on another forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427019
The intro is in Chinese, but once you scroll through it you get to the English menus and interface.
I downloaded the most recent version (3.5) and installed it on my rooted G2. Boy! What a better app! Seems to have a better AE method and there are a lot of very cool options to toy with while retaining manual control.
I've been using it for an hour now and I really like it.

i don't like camera zoom much..but this is damn good. i love all the settings.
---------- Post added at 06:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:08 PM ----------
funny thing i noticed though..in video, mode, it shows a couple stuck white pixels.
they aren't there on the stock camera. i'm wondering if the software is a bit glitchy when it comes to third party video cameras. i noticed this on the GPE camera as well. weird right?
I've been comparing some identical shots between stock camera and super camera, and I'm surprised to see that Super Camera actually looks better. There is more detail and it's a little darker so it doesn't appear washed out. I wouldn't have complained about the stock camera since it's great, but this looks even better.
I haven't tried many lighting conditions, so it might be worse in some cases. I haven't tried video either, but I noticed an option for image stabilization. I think it's software stabilization, but I wonder if it works in conjunction with OIS. Anyone know?

EDIT: I tried a lot more pics, and it turns out that the stock camera is actually more detailed when viewing at 100%. It also is more color accurate. The super camera isn't bad at all though.

I still think we are not going to see "great" night video/picture on any phone for a while yet. We could be two three years away from that imo.
The only way that will happen is if you get a big enough sensor that bulges out of the phone. Like in the case of Nokia builds.

The f2.4 lens can only get so much light. The low light video was sweet in my one, but that's an f2 lens.
The g2 has decent video, but not being able to lock focus and exposure is a really downer. The continuous autofocus kills the videos
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk 2
Both video show a brightly lid night scene but blurry, probably the result of low shutter speed and wide open apertures. If there is some way for people to manually set the shutter speed and aperture or make it less aggressive while taking the video, I am sure everyone will be happy.
Trying lower the brightness setting while taking the of the video might help with higher shutter speed and better focus.
The video that shows the drive through Bangkok's road I am impressed by the stabilisation though. =)
