Hi all,
I would like to find a decent light weight case that doesn't collect lint, finger prints and fits well for the DX2. Don't want to break the bank, so could I get some suggestions?
UPDATE:
Let me try and clairfy something, when I say doesn't collect lint or finger prints, I mean the case it's self I know that keep lint / finger prints off a phone it's self is well... So yeah I have seen cases that gather both lint and finger prints really bad.
@Shoople, I have the case/holster you are talking about and while it is a nice strong case it's just to heavier then I want for around the house / office.
END UPD:
Thanks,
If I am not mistaken Verizon makes a case that is all plastic very light weight has a kick in the back and a holster as well. I am not sure on the cost though.
Amazon. Those $5-$10 cases look ****ty but sometimes they can be amazing. I got an Otterbox made for a X for $15 including shipping. Verizon has some good ones in store but they're at little overpriced for me. Best bet is a brand like Otterbox or Sedio. Keep in mind the Droid X is nearly identical to the X2 physically. That doubles the pool from which you can choose.
Fwiw, I've owned 3 different otter boxes, a kraken and one sedio and it extremely difficult to not buildup fingerprints or lint. You'd have to get an airtight case, which isn't crazy cause there are some people on XDA that could make something like that for a lot o' coin.

I absolutely loved the case I got from Verizon, gave it a nice rugged feel, pretty good kick stand and pops right off for battery access. I highly recommend it. Can't remember the price but it wasn't bad. Oh also....stay away from the otter box for the X2 its waaaaaay too chunky

Yup, like most cases it was made for the droid x but also fits the x2, you can find on amazon and some other sites.

The Defender case is chunky. The Impact case is lighter and still protects. It's what I use. Zero fingerprints because its rubber and doesn't attract lint at all. Only $13 on ebay
I'm rocking the otterbox commuter case from Amazon. It is pretty durable and quite thin. No fingerprints. I believe it was ~$10. A steal compared to otterbox's original price; ~$30

I just recently picked up a Razr and so far the phone is great. The only issue I have is that the phone is almost too thin. Its pretty hard to hold securily with one hand and navigate with your thumb. I'm finding the best way is to told it with your left hand and navigate with your right hand. Not really the best solution.
After playing with some other 4.3" phones and not having any issues holding them (the Bionic for example is much more comfortable in my hand) I'm thinking the phone might actually be too thin. I'm hoping someone has found a case that makes holding the phone more comfortable.
Any ideas?
I have just received my Otterbox Defender case and the rubber outer sleeve makes it much easier to hold. The case itself adds bulk to the once so slender phone but to be honest I love it

Found when it was naked it would become uncomfortable after a while and now I can also reach the very top left without danger of it slipping. Do agree that the rubber is a lint magnet

Another vote for a cheap TPU. No lint and good grip but takes away from the beauty of the phone. Makes the phone seem really big once the thinness is hidden.

Hmmm you say its uncomfortable to hold in one hand and use...a case wont change that the razr may only have 4.3in screen it has nearly a 5in build and a case would only make it bigger although I will say the otterbox does add a lil weight that helped me get over my need for some heft...but since I can palm a basketball I have no problem navigating the razr real estate
Picked up OtterBox commuter and love it so far. Threw a screen protector on and good to go.

looks Sexy!
But the only problem is, I like the Kevlar back of the phone. Plus, a cover adds bulk to the device...
Is it really necessary to have a case, since the phone is strong?

IMO, it is necessary to have a case because a naked Razr is slippery. And that's how your Razr will get hurt the most: dropping it.

I agree with ukbt. See my post HERE for more pics and description of this Nillkin TPU case.
Much lighter and less bulky than Otterbox, etc. Plus, if you choose a transparent one, you can still see the "sexy" Kevlar back!
I had an Incipio on my Bionic and I don't recommend it. It looks the same as the Razr (open top and bottom) which always worried me. When it did finally take a spill, it got dinged up pretty good on both sides - where it was covered by the case.
Needless to say, the case was ruined afterwards. TPU all the way...
So I'm having a hard time looking for a case for this phone. What's the recommend case?

Just got my case-mate tough case today. Seems sturdy but not liking the silicone layer that attracts dust and lint. Oh well, can't have it all.....
Question: Will a TPU case, diztronic or any other be shock absorbent from a good fall? Just wondering if that might be the way to go.

It sucks being needy...lol

trident aegis FTW
NOTE
if you get any case with black silicone (trident, case-mate, otterbox, incipio, etc), the lint will be obviously visible. you can remedy that by getting a colored one

Definitely an awesome case. Am using the Matte Black version.
Cost is real good, and doesn't make the phone look bulky at all, easily slips in and out of the pocket
You may initially feel that since there is no volume rocker cut-out it would be difficult to use (some video reviews also show that), but trust me it does not feel uncomfortable at all. On the contrary, the divided volume rocker on the case actually has a nice feel to it.
Checkout this portion of a video, should give you a fair idea

Yeah I was looking for a TPU case, I liked my red sensation case much that I didn't want any kid of material, I bought the matte black as well, I was considering the smoke glass matte translucent case but I didn't know if I was going to like the color scheme over the white amaze, anyway, I watched the video and too bad they didn't have any colors, oh well the case looks great though can't wait to get it in the mail, anyone have the smoked glass one over a white amaze? Let me know what you think
I have a case from body glove that I absolutely love. It has a built in kickstand too which is a plus for watching media, got it pretty cheap from the tmobile store.

Just ordered the case-mate tough case.
$28 after 20% off with '4MOM' code.
I had a hard time deciding between this one and the trident aegis case, but decided the extra $8 is worth the peace of mind of knowing the three pin holes around the camera aren't blocked and I think this case looks a bit slimmer. There isn't much information out there for the Amaze version, but the Sensation tough case is well reviewed. So I am hoping the Amaze one will be the same.
Will post some pictures when the case gets here.

I like the Cruzerlite TPU cases/skins. Look great, $9 and change a piece on amazon . All the cutouts are perfectly placed. Also adds little to no bulk to the phone, and protects the phone from drops as it absorbs shock very well. Available in many different colors and
designs. I purchased a clear one first and was so impressed I got three more. Picked up a red, green, and blue one to go along with the clear one I already owned. I got the "androidified" design. Little android men on the cases. Also the android men are printed on the inside of the cases so they won't rub off over time. Some quick pics.

All black, hard rubber, stays on phone well, minimal thickness, easy to slide in and out of pockets, still good enough grip to make the phone easy to handle while out of pockets.
Would recommend. Simple yet stylish.
i have the otterbox defender, and im pretty happy with it except for one thing. The plastic screen protector produces some kind of strange shimmering effect i did not see on my defender cases for my droid x or blackberry. haven't found any info on it. anti glare, maybe? idk. don't care for it, if anyone knows how to make it go away let me know.

Which Case Mate is that? How does it go? Is the first layer silicone and the outer lay plastic?
Right now I have the Reiko Hybrid case -- very durable, but very heavy and thick. I'm debating getting the Case Mate, Ballistic, or Trident.

I was hoping this would be the last case I bought for my gNote. I found the Case-Mate Tough on sale on Amazon for $17.99 (free shipping) way better than the $40 retail!
My gNote is not insured so I wanted a case that would provide a good degree of protection without adding too much bulk. I felt this case would meet this need. It has a good grip and solid construction.
My only gripe is the the silicon is not tight on the edge on the top and bottom! Ugg! The hard shell does not hold the inner silicon in place on the top and bottom, the way it does on the sides. When pulling the phone out of my pocket the lose silicone drags/clings. So I think this action may make the silicone baggy/loser over time.

Comments about loose fitting silicone and the pics showing it to be a dust magnet are disappointing. I was really hoping this would do the trick. I have the Reiko Hybrid case. It's protective but it's a monster.
Now that the Candyshell case AT&T wanted $40 for is in the low $20's, I may be revisiting that. I still don't like the glossy back's scratch magnet aspects but its slim and the silicone (TPU?) layer holds tight to the surface of the phone.
I fixed the loose silicone on top and bottom with some double sided sticky tape. Works like a charm!
Now that I have had a chance to use it for a week or so, I have to agree with the OP. It feels very good in the hand and totally secure.

I've always used diztronic cases and I must say the DNA one is the best one yet. It fits super tight and covers the power and volume buttons too. They are even easy to push through the case. This case is also thinner than the Verizon rubber cases so it doesn't add much bulk to the phone at all.

I just got this case off of Amazon a few days ago. For the price, I really don't think it can be beat. I personally love it. It's thin, sturdy, light weight, and it looks good. Pretty cheap and good investment to protect your big investment.
