Show me what you got with links if possible. I want to change, and figured there doesn't seem to be a solid serious thread for this, soooo......

Hi guys,
I'm in need of help, I've tried looking around but couldn't find much info. I've started to cook my own roms based on LP6 because I would love to learn as much about this as I can as I find it fun.
I've got the theming of the framework-res.apk down, adding and removing apps etc.
What I want to know is, how do I get AOSP apps to work? I've heard of lidroid's framework but I don't know enough about it to understand.
Could somebody please shed some light on the subject?

Has anyone been able to change the build.prop on cm9 so the market can open up to more apps and games? I had it working on cm7 as a droid3 but attempts to change it on cm9 haven't worked.
If so mind providing a link to the source?

Theres been some conversation on this over in the CM9 dev thread, id check there and see if anyone has had any results. Im interested too, as quite a few of my apps arent available right now.

Hello, I have been a member for a while, but mostly read, do not post on this site so I cant post in the development section yet. I have an EVO3d I am trying new JB Roms on to find a new cool rom , but every one I find I am having an issue here and there. I recently updated my Kernel to a different kernel, and that fixed some of the issues.
I am trying Paranoid Andriod JB and got everything to work, but receiving SMS messages. I cant find the setting for changing the Proxy like suggested in one post I read. Could someone point me in the right direction? Sorry if this is posted, I searched but was unable to find it for the Sprint Evo 3d. I found something for Cricket, Called APN manager. Would the settings be the same except for the mycricket inputs be sprint instead?
Any one know any other ROMs to try that are cool and customizable for JB?

Hello, first and foremost I know where you are coming from. I've been playing around with jb ROMs for weeks now. You are using paranoid jb correct? The problem you are having is the developer ported this ROM over from another device meant for another carrier and thus the APN settings are not coded for sprint correctly. Generally, ROMs built from source typically have MMS and texting working specifically for that device. While no ROM is best and due to moderator preference we cannot have opinion threads on which is best. However I can point your to a few ROMs that have those things working. You can try gangnam style, king kang, unofficial jb aokp. Hope this helps.

I installed the CM 10.1 ROM two days ago and I was wondering if there were already any theme compatible with JB 4.2.1.
I'm not posting any theme or app or anything, just asking. So I guess it's the correct part of the forum to post this.
Let me know if you have anything
Also (and because I'm trying to avoid posting two threads), I have a strange issue with the time displayed on the lock screen. At certain time (e.g. 20:08), the size is too large and part of the time is not displayed. I've tried searching in the original post of CM 10.1 but could not find any fix for that. And I'm not allowed to post in the development part of this forum.
So if anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated.

Have you tried JellyBlack yet? I havent tested it but I've been using it across multiple updates.

I have quite a bit of developing experience but unfortunately have no idea how building roms works. Since now HALO from the PA rom is open source I was wondering if it has been ported as an APK. If it hasn't I was wondering if any kind folks out here know what needs to be done to port it and if anyone was willing to help. I understand pop up mini apps are not possible, and thats not what I am looking for. I just wanted the chat head style notifications. Also I know there is an app that does this, but I like the HALO implementation better, plus who doesn't like choices.

I developed this ROM for TF101 2 months ago. So I've some experience with it.
So anyway, Its not ported as an APK file. Don't think all things in Android are an APK file. Its coded by Paranoid Android developers in the Android System. Then the HALO is being added into the Settings app, by modifying and adding some java and xml files in it. Then it need some time to test whether its working or not. If you want to know how the ROM build works, you can just Google for it.
If you want to see their work go to Paranoid Android github. That's the source for the ROM.

Yup, I know it was baked into android and isn't an app, but I was wondering if anyone knew how I could make it a standalone app. But thanks for the heads up, now I know where to look for all the code that HALO uses. I think it may be a fairly comprehensive code rewrite but Its worth a shot.

Yup I have seen those, the halo app is an addon that lets you pin apps to halo when you run a PA rom. The second has a very different execution style.

Thats not an app for HALO. That jus selects apps to be pinned n trigered.
And the 2nd 1 looks like halo but is not HALO at all
I know this is rather late, but I have been looking at the code lately and I was wondering if anyone has made any progress or has some deeper insight. I haven't been able to try because my computer is on its last legs and I wont be able to work on anything till it is replaced later.
