Metallic Blue & Pebble Blue - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Can Anyone Put A Video/Pic Of Them Side By Side To See The Difference, Or Was It Just The Name They Changed? i know theres one where the button stands out more..idk
Thank In Advanced....:good:

Colors change depending on the light condition. Sometimes it looks metallic blue sometimes it looks aluminium into bluish and sometimes the home button looks purple. I personally like it because of this fact, it is multicolor and does not look cheap

[Q] Pink Touch Keys? Defect?

Hey guys
I have a problem where my the backlight of my touch keys appear dull pink instead of bright white. (I'm referring to the buttons next to the home key)
Is this a defect? Should I exchange? Anyone else have come across this problem?
Thanks
yes that would be a defect; have you got any pictures?
I tried taking a photo but it appears white on camera. It definitely looks pink in person
not normal. mine look snow white
Ive seen several SGS2's due to the yellow tinting issue and I've seen only 1 unit that had a really bright backlight at the same time that unit didnt not have any screen defects for me, only 1 out of over a dozen seen in person.
I can confirm my touch keys look rather pinkish than white, though it doesn't bother me.
yeah i agree with sp1tfire, I hadn't noticed but now that you mentioned it there is a definite slightly pinkish colour. Not that it really bothers me though.
John
Mine are light grey. Which is fine by me.
Sell it on eBay as having had a button customization. There are all sorts of idiots out there.
Mine appears pink too. I thought it was the way it was supposed to look as I don't know anyone else who I can comapare mine too. Although compared to an SGS1 it looks a lot more dull and pink - not white like the SGS1. I guess it is a defect then? I'll probably just leave it on account of the hassle it will be to send it back and not very important to me. I also have them always turned off as well
Mine r like this too I've heard people say on sgs forum its to do with the screen that's aload of rubish. If you look closely you can see its over spray from the black (dark purple) check it out yourselfs get a magnifying glass.
Hmm seems a lot of ppl have pink buttons. Yeah compared to the sgs its not as bright. probably because theres no grey outline for the buttons painted on the screen. On the sgs2 its completely produced through backlighting. hmmm ill wait a few weeks cos its a real hassle to get it replaced
Edit: The keys dont even turn on anymore! it seems the light blew out just a few mins ago! definitely a defect there
Edit2: nvm it seems it auto turns off on low batt. Recharging made it go on again. however its still pink
my buttons appear pink-ish too. but it doesn't bother me and i just love this phone, so i wouldn't send it back for this tiny issue. also, my previous phone was a htc blackstone, with a standard lcd screen, and it might just be, the buttons look pink, because the white on the screen is so bright and clear i haven't had a fully black screen w/o any backlight and the buttons light up. probably, they'll look white then.
Pinkish touch key is kind of weird.... I was expecting snow white in color as well.

[Q] Screen vs phone colour.

I know this is very superficial but is the blue theme similar to the blue plastic colour of the phone? I am choosing between the black and blue model but if the two blues look the same I will get it as it would just perfectly accent each other.

Not completely sure, although I wanted the cyan model, but ended up with the black. I love it because it compliments the screen glass and the background of the start page. Sometimes the phone just looks magical, with white text floating on top of a black slab.
Want something different
Black is always the safe option but every phone I have EVER owned has been black I was hoping the blue would be amazing.

I agree with him ^^, that's what I'll be doing when the white cover comes out. Not a fan of the blue, I heard that the accent does not match with the models blue too, double check to make sure.
There is no accent color to match the Cyan phone.
Having said that, the Cyan Lumia is gorgeous. If I want my phone to look black, I'm partial to getting a black case. As it stands, people think my Cyan Lumia is in a case, until they feel that it is no.
That cyan 800 just brightness my day. Had black N9, and you are right that the black one has these magical moments when the text and icons float on the screen with the clear black display combined with the black body, especially as N9 has no front buttons at all.
Just can't get over how good the cyan 800 looks like imo. Don't like to have my phones in cases, especially as it's so hard to scratch the 800 body.
Why not getting the white one then? Black cases have been out for a while, plus the white one has that weird "rarity" feeling to it
I'm really leaning towards swapping mine for this sassy unicorn...

[Q] Are there any downsides of a white phone?

Im buying a L920. I've always been set on the red model, but having watched several video reviews im now in doubt.
- Smudgeprints are extremely noticeable on red
- It has a really big "wow effect", its very noticeable with such a massive, bright red glossy back
- Its not gonna match live tiles if I change the colors
Because of this, im leaning towards White, but I have some questions about it.
- Does it get dirty easier? (ie. dirt gather in scratches)
- I read white phones tend to turn yellow if exposed to certain things such as cigarette smoke. Is this true?
- Is there overall something I should be aware of when getting a white phone?
Thanks in advance.

I had the White for a week then swapped out to a Red one. I didn't notice anything unusual like smudge prints etc, that stood out on the white. But, I'm an office worker so I'm not generally exposed to much dirt or grime.
Of the 2 colors, I'm not sure which I really prefer. The Red stands out, but so does the White. There are certain theme colors that do not go well with either color...so it boils down to your personal preference.
Though liking both the White and Red, I have not regretted switching to the Red

Im gonna be using full body protection on the phone, including on metal+lens on the back from the Martin Fields protector. Im not exposed to dirt either (being home going till march...), but its still something I'd like to know, as I've never had a white phone.
Imo red stands out more than white. White is a fairly common color among phones (one reason I dont prefer the color), however the bright red is not. Im just imagening holding it to my ear and all ppl see is the bright back, heh. White just seems so...smooth, despite being common.
Bump for more interest.
Well I can't say anything about White vs. Red but I had a Cyan for two weeks and then I got RED .... I personally liking RED a lot more.

I would get the Red colour. My mum got a White 920 and I really don't like it. I also seen the Yellow version which I thought I would hate, but it actually looked pretty cool in person.
I have a black one which I would say is the best color to choose, either that or the matte grey model.
Between red and white, go red IMO.
I got the yellow one, and I love it - though most people don't (who cares - I love it).
Before that, I had the white Galaxy S2. Looks pretty fine after about a year of usage, besides the scratches it got from the one and only time I dropped it.
I wouldn't hesitate to go for white in means of dirt stains or so. As long as you're not a smoker it should keep it's color for some time.
I am coming from a white HTC One X and I decided to go with a red 920.
When the Lumia 900 came out, I fell in love with the white one. When the HTC One X came out, to me it was like a slightly more rounded "Android" version of the Lumia so I had to have the white one. I really like the color and the contrast of white and black. The only issue I had with the color I had was due to the invisishield protection I had on it. My jeans would stain the shield blue-ish so the phone was never a true white. I read that a naked One X will do the same thing, but that you can clean it off with alcohol. However, if you have a naked Lumia, I doubt that will happen because of the glossy finish.
The reason why I ended up with a red 920 is not because of that, however. I went to the store to check all the colors out and red really stood out to me more so than the other options.
So if you really like the red, get the red but if you really like the white, get the white. But be aware that invisishield-type protection on that phone might be really noticeable once it gets dirty because of the white. I believe the naked phone will actually look cleaner.
I have a white and a black. White stays white - no smudging. However, I will say that the colored ones have more 'grip' that the black - which is very slick.
To my first test drive with a red one then ended up getting a white one for the wife & I. Just came down to personal preference, the one thing I new was I didn't want another black phone

led notification with.... white phone? :)

Hi guys, I wanna buy white version of MOTOROLA MOTO E (1st generation). But.. Do we see (white) led notification in white version of phone?
I'll be grateful for replies
Yup, there are in fact 2 white lights...
The less bright one works out of the box and flashes for notifications;
the brighter one is always off, but if you're rooted it can be mapped to system events depending on the kernel (make it a charging or disk access light!)

Is it visible during daylight at white phone? I'm worry that led notification in black version of phone can be so much better visible than white version of phone, isn't it?
He wants to know of its visible. I dont think that you HAVE to do the mods to use the phone

It will likely have less contrast, but the led still illuminates (unlike the one on the Xperia U, which actually looks like a painted disk outside of a pitch dark room!!) -- and a semitransparent white paint over the LED area will also probably attenuate the light less than a semitransparent black one!

Nope!
There is a black hole technology integrated into the white version. Black one has a simple white LED. But on the white one, when a notification arrives, a black hole will be created at the top right of the bezel. It appears like "black light" (or better call it a singularity) and is clearly visible because of the white background
Well, jokes apart, it is clearly visible even in the sun, of course you will need to look at the phone in the sun in order to know it's blinking. In the dark, it illuminates my room. Don't worry, go for it. White looks classy
thanks a lot guys,
so i'm going to buy white version

Blotchy whites?

I am not referring to the pink hue issue, rather my screen looks as though whites are dirty? Like there are some spots a lighter hue than the area next to them. It makes pure white look as though it is dirty.
It is most noticeable at lower brightness settings, and it appears to be noticeable on any lighter color as well, such as the quick settings light blue.
I am curious if this is just normal amoled unevenness, or if it is something wrong. I've tried to get a picture but I can't get it to show with the poor cameras I have.
