[Q] trickle charge issue...need help... - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

..hello friends...i came up with a problem regarding charging my TFP.It was all running fine until one day ,i noticed my tablet won't charge ,,charging status icon won't appear,it takes 10-12 hrs to charge the tablet when switched off ....any ideas...thanks...:good:

Check the cable first, cable could be gone bad.

I can't get it synced with my PC...could it be a problem with charger input jack...?

Prime Dock not discharging?

Just got my keyboard dock and for some reason the battery will not discharge to my prime. I got it out of the box, charged it for 8 hours, installed the firmware update, and it will not charge the device. Down in the bottom corner I see the icon that shows the keyboard should be chargeing the prime but the stock battery widget as well as dual battery widget are showing only the device discharging which the dock is remaining at 98%. Anyone else having this issue? Think its just a defective unit? The dock is securly connected and every other function works.
Any help would be appreciated.

It will start charging after the tablet gets to around 70%

I though that was pretty weird at first too.
Thanks.. mine has the same, but why does it do that? The TF101 doesn't work that way too. It isn't really nice imho.

Dock not charging tablet here and there.

My prime dock only charges sometimes when I plug my tablet in, Is this normal? Does it only start charging after my tablet drops below a certain percentage?

When the tab drops below 70%, it'll start sucking power from the keyboard until (I forget which) it is up at either 90% or 100%.

Yep, that's totally normal. There's a bunch of threads that describe the charging characteristics of the dock.
Ahhh great thanks guys, I was worried there for a little while.

I have the problem of the dock never charging the tablet.
After searching around I don't see anyone else with this problem.
Looks like this one is going back.

not charging

ok, anyone else had charging issues? re-assembled the charger, checked connections but neither dock or prime are charging. as neither are showing charging i am REALLY hoping its the cable or wall charger but nice to hear from others if they had any problems
cheers

Chances are, it is the AC adapter charger. I had a similar problem with my original TF101. A new charger fixed the problem. Mine was having connection issues from the plate that allowed universal plugs.
thanks... need a few more stories like that to reassure me.
things bloody unlocked so warranty void..

has the same problem. definitely the wall charger as it would trickle charge with any other. read somewhere about plugging in a normal phone into the asus charger until that started charging, then plugging in the prime. I did that to get it working. probably not a good long term solution, but the second charger I ordered isn't here yet.
actually , guessing it must be the charger as the prime has been charging off the dock ok until just this minute when it has finally depleted it. fingers crossed i can get a new one tomorrow

Dock not charging the tablet

Is it just me or does the dock not charge the tablet like the TF101 did. Mine will eventually charge but not until the tablet hits 50/60 percent. My old original tf101 kept the main battery at 100 at all times and depleted the dock battery first.

the prime lets the battery go down to 70% before the dock starts to charge it.

I had read that but mine gets almost to 50% before it starts charging. Luckily I leave mine ALWAYS in the dock so its not a huge concern. I just wanted to see if others have theit dock waiting this long to charge. It could be a battery issue on my tablet. I cant ever seem to get 16 hours. My on time with heavy use is closer to 8hrs with a dock connected off the charger.

Long battery charging time

Hi, just wanted to ask how long does it take to charge battery on the average. My battery charging time has increase from 2 hours to 3. 5 hours. Usually I charge with about 25% left. It still takes more than 3 hours. I have had this s3 for just 2 weeks. Thanks in advance.

Is a bit over 3 hrs....
try this app to see if your phone is receiving proper charge .... install current widget from google play
default charge is 1000 ma (wall charger)
default usb charge 450 ma
with the siyah kernel stweeks you could increase wall charge to 1200 ma + usb to 900 ma
hope it is usefull

Thanks very much. I installed the app and I am only getting 466ma while using wall charger. Is that acceptable?

I had the same problem after jb update now after changing the usb cable its back to normal...the problem is with the defective 4 pin usb cable bundled with few of our phones...so the only solution is buy a 5 pin usb cable of some other brand( htc , ,soney, lg..) that should solve your problem.

Ain't good enough buddy. I have this kind of problem if you have read my posts on the Philippines thread but I have sorted it out already.
Anyway go look in here, you are not alone.

Just to follow it up:
Yes I can confirm that it is a cable problem. All my test were done while running the Current widget app.
Using:
My charger and my cable = 466ma
Wife's charger and her cable = 999ma
Wife's charger and my cable =466ma
My charger and wife's cable =999ma
From this i can tell that the probkem is my cable.
But I think I fixed it. I tried blowing the pins on my cable so dust would clear.
And to my surprise, I got 999ma using my charger and my cable.
Anyway thanks to all. Hope that's the end of it.
