I'm trying to look for instructions on how to Deodex my ROM. I'm currently running a stock rom with baseband DDLEA and build XXALF2. If a thread already exists, please direct me to the same. Thanks!
Use google search for how to.

I did. I came up with multiple softwares that do that for you but with most of them having questionable compatibility with ICS. A couple of them didn't work for the S2 or Galaxy W on 2.3.6 itself.

Hi,
i have recently noticed the new jellybean leak and im interested in rooting my s2 which is the Vodafone Kernel 3.0.15-1056085 - Build number imm76d.bulpg. I can find numerous tutorials how to root ones with a different build number. But i cannot find anything on the BULPG 4.0.4 build.
Wil the steps for the 4.0.3 work?
Thank you
You don't need to root if you're flashing the JB leaked update.
You just need to know how to comprehend the English language, learn how to use the search feature or read the S2 forums and have a big enough set of balls to flash it using Odin.

Briliant,
So the I9300XXLSJ Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Test firmware for the Galaxy S II. I9100XXLSJ will work OK although my build number is different?
I have not done any rooting for a few years since my HTC Hero so ive lost track of all the roms and releases.
Thank you. :good:
If you do want to root then download Siyah kernel (TAR not CWM) and flash the TAR file using Odin. Then the world is your Chinese knock off pearl factory.

I have this problem: with stock CM 10.1 installation files, sometimes people are not able to call me and I am not able to call others. I only can fix this by restarting my I9100 or turning on and off airplane mode.
I asked about this issue in this forum, and one man recommended to install custom modem. So I would like to ask, what kind of modem should I install in order to fix this problem?
Thanks.
You can try the app Getril, from the play store. However I'm not quite sure what is meant by a custom modem. There is a thread here that has modems matched to RILs but as yet non have been made for 4.2.1. I looked there this morning. All I can suggest is try a fully clean installation or roll back to your previous rom.
All the best

By modem I mean that file which you choose when you install custom rom through download mode in odin's "modem" section.
I see, all the modems I've ever flashed were in zip format done via CMW. Sorry I can't be of further assistance.

Yup. On xda, you'll find that majority prefer the use of CWM recovery over odin since it doesn't increase the binary counter and is much easier. Simply download any modem for your device (which will be in a .zip format) and flash from recovery.
Remember that modems are not rom or android version specific. A gingerbread modem can be used with a jellybean rom.

By custom modem i thought he was referring to the modified modem/ril zip files that are better than those supplied by the Getril app. In that thread it states not use GB or ICS files with JB roms. Thread attached for your reference http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31416701

Before the release of the leak (XXLSJ), many were on cm10 (4.1.2) with older modems/rils, usually those of ICS. It does work, but maybe its not so optimised to work on JB? I dunno, I'm not that much of a technical expert...

Hi avipriya!
I'll explain this to you. The thing is a build.prop has a property which describes in which Region the phone is, meaning in which country the phone is. For eg. GB=Great Britain & IN=India. Now when you were flashing the Stock ROM, system files were being added. BUT build.prop was not added as it contained important info of your phone. Technically you shouldn't really worry if you think of adding the Stock build.prop and removing this build.prop as apps anyway find out where you are. So you should search for stock build.prop for your phone on google. And then replace it with your ROM's build.prop! :good: Helpful? In that case you could press the thanks Button.

So if you want your phone to be completely how it was before then use "odin" to install stock untouched OS. You should simply search for it on Google. I previously owned a Galaxy Y so I know that odin works for most Samsung devices. You'll have to download the latest odin tool compatible with your device and stock system files.

And you could press the thanks button if I helped.
Useless
Even though we flashed stock rom with odin, build.prop not change..
Hello I own a Samsung galaxy SIII GT i9300 running nightly build PAC man ROM 4.4.4. I deleted my stock backup on cwm thinking that I wouldn't need it but I'm getting a upgrade to the LTE version (GT i9305) now and I can't find out which model I am for stock firmware to sell this on, it doesn't say in settings and dialer doesn't work, and I need stock to sell this on. Is there a working ROM on all international's? I'm a noob at this so sorry if this is already answered or its a stupid question
EDIT:I know how to go to stock but don't know which firmware is right. also build number in settings says PAC man ROM nightly then numbers..
Thanks in advance!

Follow the guide in sticky thread, download the latest stock firmware for your country at sammobile.com
It doesn't matter what version your original firmware was, just make sure it is for the i9300.
Everyone says it does but okay thanks if it works
