I would like someone to upload a zip file with ONLY play store to apply it (flash )(CWM) from sd card....I can find only with other g apps....

honestly
AYeah. Need a zip file. I had applanet for the last month. I paid for apps and also paid my dues. I can almost make it work but I'm currently on a droid a855. I destroy phones for the sake of development. I'm not complaining cuz its fun as hell!!s but can I get a zip file man! I got a daytime job too! Hahahaha
Use root explorer and move the playstore.apk (usually called vending I believe) to /system/app and its essentially the same thing as flashing a gapps.zip with only play store.
Or you could get gapps.zip, unzip and delete everything under /system/app except the market app and rezip then flash. Do not touch META-INF
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
1. Use a file explorer (eg ES File Explorer) to look at any other zip file to understand how things work.
2. Edit updater-script to do what you want
3. Add your files
4. Zip the top level folders (system, meta-inf) with file explorer.
5. Sign the zip file with zipsigner
6. Flash zip.

If you want to install an apk file, you need to open the file manager, click on the file and then do the install procedures.

This is a VERY VERY OLD thread, but let me try to explain.
Files in /data/local/tmp are temporary files that persists even if you reboot the device.
Something of secure shared storage for apps, but temporary and far away from internal storage.
So, if no one app removes its files, the files inside it keep existing.

English: Well, first of all my most sincere and cordial greetings, is my first post in this area and because I am a SUPER noob on the subject of cooking ROMs.
I want to start with something simple this world, to warm things up and learning step by step.
I want to take the last NB Desire CyanogenMod 7 for the GSM (bravo) and do some basic modifications (but to my taste), the ROM will end this for me. For this I dsixda download the kitchen, put the ROM in question in the "original_update" I ran. / Menu from the console and select the first option "Set up working folder from ROM".
To my surprise I found this error message: Error: No system folder found!
I saw very strange thing, since the ROM if you have (obviously) the system folder, plus try different ROMs and happens exactly the same.
Anyone know where my error? I'm using the 0186 version of the kitchen. Thank you.
Excuse my bad, bad English.

Gracias.
Disculpen mi MAL, MAL ingles.
Just create a folder called system zip it and put in kitchen
Then when u have he folder set up unzip cm then replace working folder folders with cm files

Crea un folder que se llame system y convierte lo en Zip despued pon lo en el kitchen y cuando ya tengas el rom del kitchen listo para modificar extrae cm y pon los files de cm en el kitcjen sustituyendo los del system folder que creaste

It did not work for me, still giving me the same error even with system.zip folder you create.
As if it matters, I am using Linux Mint - debian edition. The strange thing is that I had used before to test the kitchen ROMs MotoDext things, but now does not work (it was another older versions).

I never said it lacked the unzip function, but by using one of the plugins (I forget which) that required the zip function if I said that was needed and there I realized.

man ur beast
i admire ur deidcation to the retired project and thanks to u i can somewhat build roms on my mac
tho my sgs2 roms havent been booting but thats on my end cuz of the mods ive been putting in
i had the exact same issue with PcLinuxOs mini me version.
At first the issue was "no system folder found" fot that i manually put the system folder files in working folder. but then while trying to compress back ( build a update.zip) kitchen popped up this msg
error like 177 on some_script
i went and opened up the script looked for line 177 what its trying to do .. then i knew zip was not installed in the system. installed it and now its working fine.
but still not able to port any rom. am very new with all these things but i have to say .. this Dsixda 's Kitchen is really a great program to start with. and learn more .
@Dsixda sir
sometimes if try to open up system.img.ext4 files (huawei u9000 x6 ) folders like app,usr etc will be currupted and look like files only.
Please tell me step by step how to fix the error .
Someone help me ! I did not find any competent answer, anybody ? what to do ? I have done everything correctly

Your steps are correct. Make sure that you have 7zip installed on your computer. I would recommend you to re-install Cygwin and android kitchen and use the latest version of it.
If re-installing doesn't work, just unzip your Rom using 7zip and copy the boot.img and system folder to your Working folder. :good:
Hit thanks if this helped. PM me if you need further help, or just search the forum.
I found a solution, unzip your stock rom, it gaves you tar.md5 file just delete md5 file and put it in kitchen that's all...

So the ROMs for the Atrix 4g are the same for the 3g?
All Atrix phone use 3G there are no real 4G ones, you will be fine to use any rom here. Just need to remember that you will need to flash an international kernel if you use one of the ATT or Bell stock GB roms so that your phone reads your ram correctly. Have fun and be sure to backup your stock rom.
You will also need the RAM fix which ATT users don't need.

Is there any post for RAM fixes?
sorry for asking noob questions xD
Once you are rooted, download the app rom manager, it has an option in it to install cwm, once installed you can go into cwm recovery on reboot and there is a backup option, it will also be where you will flash roms.
As far as ram fix, faux international kernel already comes with ramfix, cm7 and cm9 already cone with ramfix with its stock kernel.
Another thing I forgot is when you flash a new rom if you want to use the app fasterfix to set GPS for your area as most roms set its files for USA. If you search the forums you will find everything you need. If you have any questions message me and I will do my best to help. Have fun!

Sir you made my day
According to what anoxther user told me in other thread, in order to run a custom recovery you must unlock your phone.
Fir most of the things you only need to be root, in example the universal raindrop fix or the gentop2 replacement for the webtop

I decided to rooting the device and delete some apps that I thought but just deleting useless files that should not. Now the device home button no longer works, the screen does not lock anymore, I can make calls but can not receive, always falls on the mailbox, anyway ...
I ended up making a big silly and would like to know how to recover my phone was perfect before that everything I did. I reset the device but as deleted files from the System / App, even resetting the device remains the same problems. I searched for some rom that works on the device but not found. Important parts to backup ROM:
1 - Having recovery CWM - (creates recovery of all phone - system, data, ...);
2 - For the backup to be "clean", again with the replacement of the factory;
3 - All you need to backup the ROM, must also have placed the CWM.
I could create for you CWM, but I do not have that device.
CWM is created for each device. Do not try to put another CWM that is not specific to your phone.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Partes importantes para respaldar ROM:
1 - Tener CWM recuperación - (crea la recuperación de todo el teléfono - system, datos, ...);
2 - Para la copia de seguridad para ser "limpio", de nuevo con la sustitución de la fábrica;
Maybe you could teach me how to create a CWM for this device!
I have installed the Xolo A500 CWM at the moment I have no problems but I have never flashed with other rom.. I could make a system backup of my Blu with CMW and post it here.. would that work?

Sorry to teach it would take a while. I currently do not have that time. What you can do is backup everything on your phone and send me two files foe your device to test:

There are several tutorials here on xda that teaches to take these files and a video in youtube. For this use SP Flash Too.
