I am wanting to change the outline color of the google quick search bar. I am currently running Mean ROM and using Nova Prime as my launcher. The current bar is the clear one with just the outline and the Mic icon white. I would like to change it to red. I would like to learn how to do this myself so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
I believe there is an app for that. Just search for custom search bar.

That's not exactly what I'm looking for. I really just want to find the .png (?) file and mod it to my own color. But thanks for the input.

Hey everyone!
I've looked around on the web but I can't seem to be able to find a solid guide on how to mod the notification bar to be a different color or semi transparent.
I know some miui themes exist, but i want to do it manually so i or anyone else stumbling on this thread can apply it to their current rom and theme they have going.
I guess while we're at it, if anyone also knows how to change individual icons on the status bar that would be awesome too.
To my knowledge uot kitchen does not work with transparent/different colored notification bars.
Hopefully someone can shed some light!
(not sure if this is supposed to be here or q/a)

I FINALLY got it to work on my phone after months of searching. What ROM are you on?
What I want is the battery bar on top of the status bar like miui. Is it possible on Cyanogen?
As a note, I use ADW with the status bar hidden. Is the battery bar actually ON the bar or just above it?
If anyone could help, I'd be really grateful. Thanks.

I've been looking for that too. The closest I got was BaBar, it's free on the market, although it changes colour as the percentage changes. The paid version (OniBaBar) I believe lets you choose the colours if it bothers you.
Thanks man, I'll check it out.

Hi, I have been using some of your very useful information since I got an international S3 I9300, and got to tweak the original theme a little. Thanks for that.
So I'm using go launcher X, xposed framework and some modules which gave me the transparent status bar and some new icons.
But I cannot get the transparency in notification tray, behind notifications or clock.
Does anybody know if it is possible? Is there any module for xposed framework which actually can do that?
Hope somebody can help me. Thanks in advance.
I have the GS3 (Int.) and will be modding my status bar to make it more like the android 4.4 leak (nice and transparent) or like the transparent GS4 status bar. Try this module. it's the closest I could find: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2457265 . I will be doing this exact thing later on today. The link has the details and a video if you need help from that. Here is a video walkthrough that I will be following later on today: goo.gl/NJVFUc . Copy-paste the link into the search bar without www at the start.
I think it is what you might be looking for. Hope I helped. Press thanks if I was useful.
Hi, thanks for your answer I'm going to check that module, altought I already have the transparency working on my status bar and part of the notification tray. You ca see it at: postimg.org/image/emo5qk48x/ or postimg.org/image/7jpf3f07p/
It's just this part of the notification tray which I can't get to be transparent postimg.org/image/i0vhk77fl/
Actually I'm using xblast module and xquicksetting toggles to get those transparent parts but it can't get the transparency behind the clock or the notifications "per se"
If you have any idea about it, please let me know. Thanks again
Sorry man. Don't know about that. Nice WP BTW.
Hi, first of all I don't know if this goes in q&a or theme/apps, but here goes:
attached are two screenshots of my current setup. Obviously I'm going with a very stock KitKat theme.
I would like to have a flashlight widget that sort of fits into the theme of this. Semi transparent like the google search bar or something. I know I can use uccw but wondered if anyone knew of a standalone app/widget.
Would also like some sort of battery indicator since I don't like it in the status bar. Maybe something like a simple line across my screen? also following the theme ideally. Don't care to know exact percentage so it doesn't have to have the number with it. jusy something easier to read than my status bar.
I'll also share how I am set up if anyone is interested.
Thank you!

Might try Team Battery Bar for your battery indicator. Download from Play Store. Not sure on the torch widget.

will check it out, thanks!
I would really like the stock Android status bar icons. My main gripe is that 4g/3g takes up a whole other icon instead of being combined into the cell signal. Any chance of modifying these without root?
This is always my complaint on Verizon phones. They insist on messing with the icons. I have not figured out anything yet, besides using a material status bar app from the play store, but the problem with it is the status bar will not go transparent on the home screen with Nova launcher. Once we can get Andromeda or Substratum support, it opens up a whole new world.

So close! This lets me enable/disable various status bar icons but not change them. Thanks though.
Found it! An app just called Status. Transparency on the homescreens only works if you have a non-live wallpaper tho.

Cool, thanks. I was really hoping to avoid just overlaying the system status bar, but that might be the only way unfortunately.
