I have a DOMO Slate N9 SE tablet running on ICS 4.0.3. Everything is working fine but I cannot sign in to YouTube.
When I click on YouTube for the first time, it crashes saying 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped' and the next time it gets stuck on 'Signing in'. If I clear data, again it says 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped' and then keeps on getting stuck at signing in.
But when I use applications like Opera Mini and Flipboard and load a video, the YouTube app opens and runs the video. When I click on 'like' to like that video, I get a pop-up screen asking me to log in using my Google account. When I click on it, I get the same error, 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped'.
I think there are system files missing in the device. The ICS ROM did not even have CalendarSyncAdapter.apk and I had to manually install it. So I think even the YouTube error is due to some missing system files.
I have tried several other versions of YouTube app too but I get the same error.
What shall I do? Please help. BTW my device is rooted.
Thank you.
Alright I took an apk file of YouTube from the internet and placed it in with my 'system/apps' folder with the permissions being 'rw-r-r' and I am able to sign in now.
But well I want it on my SD card, what can I do now?

if any have you experiencing
com.google.process.gapps force close error
i have found the way to resolve it
i have attached apps copy them to sdcard and to system/app folder using 644 permissions use root explorer (root required)
and reboot
market, sync, youtube, and many more problems are solved
I was having this issue.. but after a reflash from SEUS it was sorted..
your way sounds much easier.. I had to re-install all my apps again.. root the phone.. delete horrible SE apps etc etc.. took fricken hours! (just because that error seemed to be stopping Market working Grrrrrrrrr!!)
any idea what this gapps app is and what it does? I don't remember deleting it (I generally just get rid of games, user guides etc.. safe stuff, so I was really confused when the error suddenly started popping up)
Cheers for the file tho (I have a copy safely stashed away now for next time!)
the problem i have found is that deleting googleapp.apk and google settings provider. when you do this all other google related apk's malfunction that's where the error comes up

The easiest way around this is (to install a file manager without market).. either use a laptop with BT or find a friend with a bluetooth capable phone and a file manager like astro, stick the file on the laptop/their phone and send it to your phone over BT, once its copied across go to the task bar and select the file and install it. couldn't be easier..
Google talk missing mate ..cud u link me to the apk or upload it?
Thanks
I recommend you not to touch any google.apk's, you can delete googlesearch.apk, enhancedgooglesearch.apk and search.apk, rest of .apk's that have google in its name leave it alone. Also, Setupwizard (or whatever its called (Setup wiz that starts when you first boot your phone or change sim card) is closely related to google.apks and market login, so i recommend you to leave it alone to.
When i deleted it, i was unable to log on my market (when i start marked i only get force close error and my market crashes and i was unable to login to my google acc to do the synh.
Thanks a lot, i wasn't able to copy them directly to the specified folder (i don't have root explorer), but copying the apk to SD and installing them from there seems to solve the error.

for setup wizard, I have deleted it and I can access market without problem.
but, I do sign in into market first before I delete it.
I copied the files to SD and then I installed every single one of them... It worked!
But only to remove the FC message... Still couldnt use Marked... So I reflashed it and recovered with Titanium... 15 mins and I was up n running again...
Thanks dude!!! After days of searching for a solution I downloaded and copied to system\app your pack and it worked.
Now I wonder why these android phones start doing funny things when you try to delete the Google stuff. Maybe that "don't be evil" policy is a thing of the past.
Hi , I downloaded the apps.rar to my phone but it can't extract or install..
it claims the file is empty , even though the filesize says 1,95 MB. Very strange..
I get the com.google.process.gapps error when opening Gmail app.
anyone?

@ The Andropirate... You sir are my new hero for the day anyway! I rooted my phone and my buddies and had this horrid error and market freeze for a couple days now with all kinds of bogus advice on how to fix it.
This IS how to fix the problem!
One thing that was not clear to me was copying the files in root explorer which I did do but it didn't seem to make a difference so I installed the files through root explorer from the SD card and that worked. I then simply installed the files from my friends SD card on his phone without the copy process and that worked. I do not think there is a need to copy the files to system/app. Simply extract to SD and install from there through root explorer.
This fix worked on Alcatel PT-980a and a Motorola Citrus
Im a bit of a n00b and when i rooted my x10 mini i went crazy uninstalling everything. Big thanks! I just copied all the apps to my sd card and installed them using root explorer. All fine now after many panicky hours!
By the way.... if you dont have any apps you need and you have this problem, download them from 4shared.com (when searching type the app name all one word followed by .apk e.g. rootexplorer.apk) and transfer to sd card... easy!
Acer A1 running 2.1
I have an Acer S100 A1 running official Eclair 2.1
Made a factory reset thinking that it would solve this gapps problem...
But no, it still pops up each time after I reboot and market is not working...
No file manager comes with the phone...
I cannot find a way to install the google apps in the first post...
Anyone, please
Victor
Is there any possibility to install these apps via recovery? Via .zip or adb?

Hi everyone
After rooting my Nook tablet, I keep getting the popup "The application Google services Framework(process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly" every time I reboot. I have to choose "Force close" it.This is so annoying.
Do you guys have any idea how to fix it ?
Thank you
I haven't seen it on the Nook, but I was getting it on the Iconia A500. Turn off all syncing on your Accounts and then re-enable a service at a time until you figure out which one is causing the issue.
In my case, it was web syncing, however that's not an option on the Nook (I don't think).
Make sure you have
ContactsProvider.apk and
CalendarProvider.apk
in the /system/app folder

I have both of these installed in that location and I still get force close after reboot each time. It doesn't affect anything so I haven't worried about it.

I'm getting the same "The application Google services Framework(process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly" after a reboot. I followed the steps in the first post on rooting the Nook Tablet. Everything seems to work OK except for Google Talk, that force closes.
I also have the files that suggested.

I am having this same issue. Any help or suggestions other than confirming the .apks are in place.
Thanks.
I'm also having the issue but I haven't noticed any ill affects other than it is a little annoying
Here’s my framework apk, I am not sure if it will solve your FC problem.
You can use ES File Explorer to do this; it’s free from the market. You have to enable Root Explorer and Mount File System as writable in the Settings. In the Directory Settings, change current directory to “/”, without the quotation. Click back to main screen, click on the Star button, and click Home.
Copy the framework apk to /system/app/ and override the existent framework apk.
To set permission, just go to apk Properties by holding on the apk and scrolled down to Properties.
Has anybody tried to use succulent's google framework file or figured out another way to fix this problem? I've tried a factory restore by doing 8+ failed boots and re-rooted the device, installing gapps with Indirect's root method and I still immediately get the force close each time the tablet restarts.
How do you disable syncing for contacts/calander for the nook? I couldn't find that so I didn't try that method yet.
Are the permissions correct for it? rw-r--r--?

I am having the same trouble as the others. I tried your file and am still having the same problem.
I factory restored last night and re-rooted. No fc on startup now. It must be something I did later.
I downloaded the newest version, after searching google for it. I was able to install the new one fine, and now it is working fine. I beleive its the same version that was installed when I rooted last night, that one just wouldnt reinstall.

Any chance you could share where you got this? I see lots of results for GoogleServicesFramework.apk, but none that look anywhere near official.

Same problem cropped up for me.
Fixed it by clearing data for Google Services Framework: Settings...ApplicationSettings...ManageApplications...All...GoogleServicesFramework...ClearData
After reboot, all was well.
Use Recovery to Fix Permissions

Well....
After a few more reboots, the problem returned. Cleard by fixing permissions in CWM recovery under advanced menu. Rebooted twice. All is well (fingers crossed).
Moved To Q&A
I use SKK Phoenix+ Tablet.
OS : Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
First of all i downloaded KingRoot Super User, so i root my phone. I used it to remove these system applications that i can't disable and uninstall. The virus installed several Download Manager system app to download some viruses and ads on my phone (which got me on a rampage). I had to remove all of the fake ones until i accidentally removed the original Download Manager that my phone used to download from Google Play and other sources. I downloaded a Download Manager from the internet (same OS and version as the old one) and i tried to test it out by Downloading a random game on Google Play. After several minutes, a pop-up says "android.process.media has stopped" and then Error (942) will pop-out at my Google Play. I can't post a screenshot of it because Media Storage wont work and it wont let me take pictures, download, screenshot or even view Gallery. Does anyone know how to fix this? or maybe provide me a firmware of my tablet? It would be helpful and a big thank to you all
I'm sorry, it's my first time fixing and root this tablet.
Clear ur google play data. This might work or not. And u shouldnt have deleted those stock apps.
For some reason I can't donwload anything throught the Chrome or any other web browser, for example if I want to download something throught the chrome it shows "download failed due to missing SD card." Also most of music players wont play my music, it just gets stuck at 0:00 and won't budge from there or some error pops out.
I'm using Paranoid ROM (ver 7.2.2) with Faust kernel v6.0
Me too. And i can't access google play store services. Cant get server connection.
Pls help, i think maybe i flashed too much zip (LOL, so sad) when i went from official miui to pixel experience (could be that "lazyflash" or something like that?)

Try revoking storage permission and granting back storage permission for the faulty apps.
Try clearing app data, disable and enable app.
I need to install Google Play Services on an old tablet. The tablet has Android 4.2.2 OS. I know this is unusual since that is basically an antique today.
I can't sideload or use recovery. I can't use TWRP.
What I can do is read/write the system drive. So I have to do this manually if you will. I have to move the files and apks to the system drive and grant permissions. No other way to do it.
But it keeps crashing on me. The apps will run and I can even login with my Google account, but when I try to send an email through GMail or install an app through Play Store it crashes. I can receive emails but not send them. And I keep getting the modal dialog that says, "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped."
The "solution" I keep seeing is to clear the cache, but that doesn't work and makes no sense here since I just installed it.
Has anyone had any experience installing GApps this way? I've seen very little info on this approach.
Does anyone have an idea about what I'm missing?
Thanks,
Steven

My suggestion would be to grab a gapp package and explore it on your PC or with root browser. The PICO gapps package includes everything you need to make the playstore and stuff work... Just the basics. Lol. I'd start there and install/overwrite every app from the package. Reboot. Should be good to go.
