ATT S3 Calendar event notification issue - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Selecting a custom ringtone in Event Notification does not work. I can select it but after I power off screen and go back it reverts to the default. Anyone else having this problem or figured out how to make it work? In calendar\menu\settings\event notification\select ringtone.

Same thing w/ vzw S3. Anybody have a fix? Seems to hold a stock ringtone, but not custom.

[Q] Vibrate only when receiving call...

When I first got the phone yesterday all was behaving normally. (Ie. Vibrate when receiving call and not during SMS) I then proceeded to configure Widgetsoid and probably accidentally pressed the wrong button on the sound toggle button.
As you are aware there is clearly no option to select "Vibrate on/off" in the SMS settings menu, so I was wondering how one could remedy the problem without using Sound Profile to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Default notification sound changed

Somewhere along the line, while side-loading apk's and just generally having a good time, my default notification sound changed to an old cellphone sounding ring.
I searched the Nook Color forum and found reports of a similar problem but no solution. Someone did include a zip of the audio file in question though, which is what I'm hearing now, too.

Has anyone else run into this and is there an easy fix?
Thanks in advance!
When i installed google voice i think it changed, but I changed it my self shortly after.
In google voice hit the menu button, then it 'More'. A seemingly Blank menu appears.
In reality this menu actually just has White text on a white background. If you press what would be the top option in that menu, it brings you to the apps settings. Where you can change the notification sounds.

Thanks for the reply!
Isn't that an app specific setting for Google Voice? I have a similar setting for Enhanced Email and while it successfully changes the notifications for that app the other system notifications are still "Default Ringtone" which sounds like an old cellphone.
I might be misunderstanding how it works, though.
So it seems to be the stock email client where the notification issue is most noticeable. If I use a different client I can configure the notification sound but the default client *always* uses this default ringtone thing.
Do I need to wait until this is rooted and then just rename some system audio files?

[Q] Vibrate not working...

So I have never used the vibrate volume level until today. The phone does vibrate when hovering over the vibrate option, however when text messages come through it does not vibrate at all. I have the stock firmware and I did a battery pull and still no luck. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a fix for this?
Thanks
Tried going into the settings in the message app? Sometimes you have to enable it.
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using XDA App

You will need to set it in settings. Go to the messaging app that you use, whether it is stock, handcent, GO SMS, etc, then there should be an option within the settings.
For stock messaging app, you would want to enter settings, and under the notifications menu, there should be options where you can toggle vibration.

Standard mail app - notification sound

Hi Everyone,
I keep having the following problem with my Galaxy S2.
In the standard mail app, I've selected the option to make a notification in the status bar when I've got a new mail, I've selected the silent ring tone, and vibrate is on always.
The phone itself is also in silent mode.
I keep ketting a sound when I've got a new mail, and its annoyingly loud. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Only when the option to make a notification is not checked, I do not get a sound. But then there is no notification, and no orange bubble with the number of new unread mails.
Can anyone help me?
- some extra info: standard samsung rom, not rooted.

Update: I still have not found where I can turn off the sound. A new SMS makes the same noice. It is annoying as hell and I'm close to hitting the miserable piece of **** with a hammer.

MMS Notification issue CM 10.2 ROM

Somehow I lost the ability to choose a MMS sound independent of the notification sound. Not sure what happen but all of a sudden after 2 weeks on the ROM it just changed out of nowhere. Weird thing is on the options menu it'll pick and play a sound, after the option closes out it'll show my chosen ringtone instead of the sound I picked, but actually play the default notification sound? The same thing goes for trying to chose a custom vibrate pattern for texts.
