ICS 4G drops - Motorola Droid RAZR

I just got this device as a CLNR as a warranty replacement for my bionic. Have any of you been encountering 4g drops with ics? It seems my phone cant hold 4g for more then like a minute then drops to 3g. I live right next to a tower! Happens anywhere i go. Installed the 214 leak and same issue..is there a issue with our radios?

My 4g holds just fine. I'm on the ota ics.

Mines been allot better on ics then GB. But randomly drops data. I'm on the .214 leak in Seattle

mine's about the same on ICS as it was on GB. But the 3G network is pretty fast around here, so I don't notice that much of a difference.

Official ota data is fine for me.

are you in north Georgia, if you are then I need to check and see If 4G is live here yet.
Welcome to the secret society. I had 4G for almost 7 months now and Probably would not trade it for anything else. May be for LTE Advanced
I'm in Louisiana

No more 4g!?!

I just went back to stock from ICS and since then, I haven't been able to connect to 4g at all. It worked fine before I loaded ICS an even while I was on ICS. Does anyone have this issue? Any solutions?

Make sure the option for lte is enabled in your mobile data settings and you may just not be picking up 4g atm. You can try rebooting if you think your in a 4g area

I'm in Honolulu at my house which has always been 4g before. I also tried to switch between cdma only and cdma/Lte and also rebooted multiple times. Its only been since I went back to stock from the first ICS leak. Thanks for the help so far tho. I appreciate the feedback

This worked first time. The only thing is that its now asking me to update to 181 again. Should I trust and go for it or will I be back to no 4g again?

New here

I just traded my galaxy nexus for a razr maxx today. I don't really care about down grading from ics cuz I know eventually the razr will get and I had the itch to move to another device.

Good timing, Verizon started to send out the OTA today, but there could be 2 weeks where it's distributed to everybody.

It will lose root, but the OTA will go through fine.
Cool thanks. I really don't think I want to root this thing.

I recommend unrooting with Matt's utility just in case. You will get the update, but there could be issues. That is not the case most of the time, but it sometimes happens. I think it was a DROID pro update that messed up rooted phones. You should be fine though...

Verizon 4g speeds?

What is a good speedtest.net speed for droid RAZR Maxx with 4g?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
I get a average of 25mb down and 10mb up with my OG RAZR, but I gave seen 30mb of some occasions
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
Thanks for the input. I assumed that I would get similar results when tethered via USB, but only getting 11 down and 8 up... Assuming it's the USB technology holding me back?

Slow LTE Data Speeds

Hello, I am new to the DNA. Has anyone noticed slower LTE speeds compared to other devices. The 4g icon is displayed but when browsing it loads pretty slow. Any Ideas?

what kind of LTE coverage do you have in your area? how long has your phone been activated? i get 20mbps download at my workplace, which is out in the middle of the desert!
Great coverage. I came from an iPhone5 and Raze Maxx Hd that had great LTE speeds. The phone has been active for about 16 hrs.

It varies on the DNA from 1.5mbs to 5mbs. On the Maxx HD it would be between 16 and 28

Throw your SIM in another phone and see what speeds you get in the same place as your dna. Because the dna has some of the best radios in any smartphone out.

I think it already has the new update. I want to revert back so I can root. I'm on an unlimited plan and need the hot spot.

There is a team working on root and s-off for the ota phones so sit tight and you will be able to do it in the next few weeks (maybe longer... Not sure the status on it)

Afaik the only thing that needs to be done is to figure out how to get supercid on the ota(not saying that's easy, just that the ota didn't break everything related to rooting). S off works on the ota if your already unlocked and I think unlocking works if you have super cid.

OK I will wait. Can the paid version of PDA plus be used on the DNA

I get really good speeds and awesome coverage here in south Florida. New to the phone and carrier.

I do speed tests all the time. I average about 6-10mps in my area, which is right outside Nashville by about 45 minutes. The other day, ran a test and I pulled down almost 50mps... Did another one 5 minutes later same thing. Since then, have not been able to replicate. Note, This was during peak hours.
