I had about 80% of battery life. Using Skype then phone went black and froze. Held down power button to restart and phone came back on but required a charge as the battery was down to 12%. Wtf happened? I did press data connection on while on wifi before it happened. Could that be the issue? Am running ICS Android 4.0.3.

Is anyone else getting a slight delay when pressing the power button when the device is off? It's not hugely noticeable but slightly annoying!
I'm having the same issue

I have had this problem to, but when the phone us charging there is no delay.

Probably because it's trying to conserve energy and goes into a lower power state than when it's plugged in
Doesn't bother me at all

Recentley everytime I've left my phone on charge I've noticed it flickers the screen, also yesterday I rebooted it to find it wouldn't start I have a tempreture gauge and battery icon on boot,I figured it was my aftermarket battery so replaced the original, it booted fine, and this morning when I've gone to take it off charge I've noticed the screen is flickering again until I take it off charge

Hi friends, I have a big problem. When I shut down my s3 and open it after 8 hours, my battery discharged about % 12 -15 t,that is, my S3 is discharging when it shut down. Now i ama using Turkbey rom v17 but i have the same problem with 4.0.4 and 4.1.1
What can you say about my problem?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
It doesn't discharge when off, it's a problem with battery calibration when on. Try to shut it off and on immediately and you'll see the same.

Wow, that's super weird... Is it possible that you have too many programs running in the background? I downloaded the battery saver app and it keeps my battery from going on the fritz, might help you too
İ have not a problem with my battery life only with discharging when off ...

Is there a way to get rid of it? Every time I charge with the phone turned off, that stupid screen stays on all the time, causing the phone to over heat and not charge at all. I have to cool it down for a good 10-15 minutes before it can start charging again. Any suggestions?

Don't charge it while it's off, it's a problem for everyone with an unlocked bootloader I believe.

Does it actually hurt the phone or battery? Just out of curiousity . I didn't read it in the forums.

The phone overheats (like the surface of the sun) and it actually drains the battery instead of charging it. You have to cool the phone down before it can normally charge again. Even if its plugged in, my battery still went from 7 to 5 to 3 until I cooled the phone down

I just noticed that lol. I had a couple times where it showed it. But I was able to reboot to recovery and restart without it heating. But 30 minutes ago I let it sit for 15minutes and it did get hot, much like oc and benchmarking.
