Where did the CheckROM V7 go? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Some days ago CheckROM V7 launched based on Android 4.0.4 leak. There were some known issue with hard bricking if you formatted system without flashing an older kernel. But anyway, I can't find the thread anymore. I'm I blind, or was it withdrawn?

Well, to be honest I think he closed the thread because the truth was getting out and they don't want that.

Oh, yeah, forgot that. Just a bunch of lies.

, I should be embarrassed. The last pages of the thread are kind of interesting reading though. I hope they will come back with an update version, based on the 4.0.4 final ROMs that are being reported available in different regions (I guess Russia was the first on)

If they change the architectural software structure of Ice-cream(2.4 or 3.1?) then no it would not upgrade, But I would bet a dollar the phone will be able to handle at least 2 or 3 more upgrades before software and apps will require a larger ram and duo core cpu
BTW way to the other posting....... froyo, gingerbread etc are the code names they gave each version of android....... 2.2, 2.3 etc

Well either you or he was confused. There's more than a couple Gingerbread themes out there, but thats all they are is themes. There is one EXPERIMENTAL Gingerbread build out, but as such, its not stable and could not be used daily.
Its being worked on, but Samsung has not even released the 2.2 source yet. When that happens, maybe some doors will be opened in that direction.
But as of right now there is NO stable Gingerbread rom, no matter what your friend told you. If there was you would have gotten actual help, instead of some of the less serious responses.

No more releases?

It's about one month i cannot see any new "stock" release. LA4 (2.3.6) and LPB (4.0.1) are the last I can find. What is happening at Samsung? Are they working on some new hardware and spending more effort on it? Or do they think this is the best they can do? IMHO there is still a lot of work to do.
Is there someone with fresh news?
UPDATES:
1) Gingerbread will have more updates
2) Icescream Sandwitch first official release will be at the end of March
3) there are rumors about a US official ICS release at 1 of March
2012/02/16
Last ICS released is LPH

Jeez if you read the 7 million posts on here you will see that Android 4 is due for release soon . Hardly likely that Samsung will update 2.3.6 though networks may still update as that are always behind .
ICS has not yet been released .

1.there's no need to release 2.3.6 updates!!

In conclusion the opinion is that gingerbread will have no more upgrades and we must wait till the end of March for the first stable IceScream Sandwitch Sgs2 release.
Personally I hoped Samsung would have been releasing some more Ics beta test releases to give evidence of their immense work and in the same time they would have been bringing that experience on gingerbread, has they did till last releases.
I will copy these Infos on the first post and I will keep it updated for more news.

the last ICS rom for SG2 is XXLPH , easyly to be found in s forum

[Q] Noob to XDA Dev. Looking to see if I understand this right regarding ICS ROMs.

Hey guys! I've lurked around here for a while. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S II for ATT a few months ago after being a longtime iPhone user. Therefore, I'm fairly new to the whole Android tweaking process. I want to install an ICS ROM onto my phone, particularly CM9. I've read the stickies, and am really trying to understand, but at the same time, do not wish to brick my phone. So could someone tell me if this is correct? Or where I'm wrong? Based on what I've read here, to install ICS, I need to...
1. Root my phone as outlined in the thread for that. (The one about not activating the yellow triangle. Since I'm on 2.3.6, I'll need to use "Odin3 One-Click Downloader".)
2. Backup my apps and texts and crap using Titanium Backup to my SD card.
3. Install the proper kernel (where do I find this?) using Mobile Odin.
4. Make sure CWM is active, backup NAND (I assume this is an option?) and flash CM9.
5. Flash Google Apps.
6. Restore my Ti backup.
Thanks guys for the help! And sorry if I'm being stupid/completely misunderstanding.
Read, useless thread is useless

Read, read and read some more. Do a search for Hellraiser as there are no true ICS ROMs for this phone yet, only i900 ports.
If you need to ask questions like this, you are not ready for ICS and ICS is not ready for you.
Since I9100 kernel source code has only been out for a week and we had a bunch of I777-specific **** to fix - while lots of progress has been made things are not quite working yet.
man some people are rude in here....
And others are lazy. Welcome to XDA.
There are a lot of different roms. Usually they rewrite the kernel within the install of the rom. But basically you have the right idea...

Facts are facts, loser. There is not yet a fully-functioning official ICS ROM released for the i777, so any talk of one is premature. The guy admits in the title of this thread that he is a noob and doesn't quite understand. These are exactly the people who should not be flashing ANYTHING, let alone a ROM that is not ready for primetime. But keep on encouraging him and others so that the forum gets filled with people needing help to fix what they messed up. I'm sure you'll be rewarded with tons of adulation for your efforts. Troll indeed.

[Q] o/c dagkernal work with kingkang?

I've noticed my note being a little laggy on the current rom that I am on and was wanting to flash the dagkernal to overclock a little bit and try to reduce the lag. Unfortunately the rom I am currently using is ics based and from my understanding incompatible with dagkernal. I came across the kingkang rom and would really like to flash but don't want to end up in the same situation I am in now. Does anyone know if it is compatible with dagkernal? Thank you much in advanced.
P.s. sorryz for noobzz questionz.
You answered your own question
And if you can't figure it out you shouldn't be flashing anything.
No offense
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
I guess what I should have asked is if kingkang is ics based because i'm not sure. If it is obviously it won't work with the oc kernal. I'm not new to flashing by any means. I'm just new to the note. Really I as just looking for some clarity before I go try it and have to go out of my way to fix something that I ****ed up.

Stop being lazy and do some reading!!!!
Stop cluttering the threads with questions that all it takes is reading in an OP of a rom
Matter of fact go flash it
Flash King Kang than flash the kernel

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Again...not a noob at flashing by any means. I read both threads thoroughly and at no point in the king kang rom thread does it state if it is gb or ics. I guess you are just to dense to understand the question that I was asking. By the by...i've been on this site alot longer than you I just don't post much because of idiots like you that don't want to give an anwser. You would rather parade around the question and give little to no input instead of just helping a fellow member out. Thanks for nothing. Last time I checked this was for q&a. I searched for my question before I made a thread about it and returned no results. So unless you have some useful input gtfo (which at this point my question was anwsered so it would be monotonous).
If you would a really searched like you said you did you'd know all CM9 AOKP Paranoid roms are ICS... idk what rom that is based of CM9 isn't ....so there is your answer since King Kang is a mixture of all 3
I give you s*** because you clearly didn't do your research if you say you "been flashing longer than me" but couldn't find out one of the most obvious things dealing with ICS ...

Every rom you will find on the first page of the Android Development thread are ICS roms. There were not too many custom Gingerbread roms for our device and the ones that were made are discontinued cause only a few of us with the Note are waiting til the kernel source is released to upgrad to ICS. Anyway yes its an ICS rom and all the other roms on the first and probably second page are also ICS roms.
