I have a choice between xperia P and galaxy s advance (I bought galaxy s advance already today but when i went on internet i saw xperia P with all its goodness of high resolution etc) but then i saw the size of battery (1300 mAh vs 1500 mAh) and now i'm asking you guys who're already using xperia P, whether the batter life is satisfactory or not? because i have desire hd as well (1250 mAh) which is a single core processor and the battery isn't that sufficient especially with official rom. Since xperia P is a dual core, is 1300 mAh sufficient?
Hey, Am also using Galaxy S Advance and my cellphone is in Complete warranty but now am looking for xperia p. My Samsung Galaxy Advance drop signal both wifi and network. I like xperia p,and the battery is not so good but it is also not too much bad.It depends upon usage.

Its been only 2 days since i bought the Xperia P . So , a battery shows its true capacity only after a couple of charges . Will see how it performs.
The phone in itself is gorgeous. The touch buttons are btter than those of Galaxy note atleast and phone can be easily used with one hand also.
Button placement is not extreme bottom as in all Samsung android phones !!
From my experience the SGS+ has a really, really crappy battery. Can't compare since I don't have the P but I'm pretty sure it'll be better.
If you are okay with 13 GB with no memory expansion slot (but USB OTG) and non replaceable battery, then you can safely go for it, as the battery is not that bad when compared to 1500 mA.. It is a bit more efficient, plus it gets charged pretty quickly! Mine gets charged fully in just over an hour!!

Let me here give you and example of how bad is this phone battery situation is .
I have an HTC HD2 running android 2.3.3 and it has a 1GHZ processor which is the same with the xperia mini pro i bought , on the other hand the HD2 has 4.3" screen while the mini pro is only 3" so I already nticed after using the mini pro that its consuming so much battery than the HD2 but i wanted to be more specific so below are the details
HD2 Battery is 1230mA, xperia mini pro 1200mA ( Almost the same )
so I left both of them in idle for 8 hours ( wifi is on both have the same apps like Facebook , google+, twitter, with the same update settings, )
the HD2 dropped from 82% to 71% in 8 hours in idle (Lost 11% )
The mini pro dropped from 100% to 50% in 8 hours in idle ( lost 50%)
for me this is a big gap between the two devices and to be honest i expected the HD2 to have a shorted battery life conidering its much more powerfull device and its 2 years old with the same 2 years old battery.
and i also noticed that during the test:
the HD2 never exceeded 10mAh consumption at all
the mini pro rarely went below 50mAh and the minimum was 26mAh
so i guess there is something that eats the battery during the idle time and it is taking alot of it comparing the two devices.
in fact when i bought the mini pro i wanted smaller device that will have a better battery life , but now its totally the opposit which make me confused.
custom ROM may increase the xperia mini pro battery life. before this i had a xperia x8, using the custom ROM, battery life increase 30-40% more than using the stock ROM. original ROM contain a lot of junk/trash application which consume more RAM and battery life.

I think there is something wrong with your phone or a app. my phone had lost 20 % on 8 hours, i got my phone today
I think there is something wrong but I'm not sure what it is exactly, and this is happening while the phone is in idle (sleep)
Ya my battery drains very fast too
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App
no problems with battery here... Maybe pro drains more
Sent from my ST15i using XDA App
There is (was?) similar problem with SE Arc, which I had before this phone. The culprit was the stock picture app which whould, once started, drain battery from the background. Try keeping it on idle after a reboot. I hope this phone does not have this issue, too, since it already has enough of them
Hi guys,
As the title says,
I'm about to buy a new smartphone.
I am really SONY Fan. I love Xperia S so much. ( It's Screen, Design etc.)
But when i heard about Razr MAXX, I'm confused.
Razr MAXX have 3300 Mah Battery and 8.99 mm when
Xperia S have 1750 Mah Battery and 10.6 mm thin..
It will make quite big difference in battery life because Xperia S also have a lot more pixels than Razr MAXX
So battery drain will be bigger.
I'm really confused. My heart still want Xperia S but Razr MAXX's battery life&thinness impressed me.
Can you please help me decide
Thank you for reading.
Well these depends on what do you want to do with your next smartphone...
I come from HTC Desire HD. I make a lots of photos and video's so i wanted to make an update so i start to look on the best camera smartphone at this moment. I bought the Xperia S and the truth is that there is no comparison between other smartphone's cameras. It makes some unbelievable photos and the dedicated button for me it's ''pure gold'' Out of the pocket in standby and in 1,5 second you have a photo. I wanted a camera smartphone and bonus i received from Sony an awesome display, the most perfect android software (absolutlely no lag and no bugs) and decent battery life. With a normal use i can easily arrive in the evening. I don't know about the Droid Razr Maxx because in Europe is not available and none of my friends has it, but the only thing for me that really look intresting is the battery capacity. But you should know that a bigger battery doesn't mean that the phone will last for days and days ahead. If the software installed is not optimized you will get just a few extra hours... Ask in the Droid Maxx forum the real battery life of a regular user if you are looking for a ''long battery smartphone''.
i was going to get a maxx razr before the xperia s came out, luckily i found out about the xperia s and never looked back. Yes it has a massive battery life but, the big but is it looks FUGLY.
i actually have both, and, well, i see them as serving 2 different purposes.
razr = power user (person who cant let go of their phone)
xperia = show off / style / wow factor / see through illumination
u sacrifice quality for quantity if u go for razr (for its battery), but then again, just buy a power bank for the xperia S, and there you go!
my xperia + 3300mah power bank = best of both =)
google anker slim battery pack as thin aas a razr
@sssache
Well, actually im also buying smartphone for its camera. I didnt have any problem with my Arc camera but its time to update
Also unfortunatly, its battery performance is as good as they say in commercials. ( 3 Days with normal usage
But hey ? Battery is not eveything right ?
Thank you for your answer.
@unrealboot1
Yes. You are right. I really dont like razr's design. And i just LOVE Xperia S design.. Very uniqe.
Thank you for your answer.
@royalbloodvi
Your answer is most neutral one i think and very helpful also.

This power bank i think is to big. It's like having 2 smartphones in your pocket. I'm looking for something slim that can fit in my wallet, but no succes til now.
Hi,
I am thinking of getting an xperia P.it looks very classy & sexy.but i have 1 confusion it is about battery life.i just want some genuine feedback from current xperia P owners.
How is the battery life with 1305mah battery?
with heavy usage & normal usage ?
thanks ur support will decide my future cellphone....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656649
You should definitely read that thread. All you want to know about the mobile, its battery and more in it.
However, to summarize, from what I could gather from the reviews, almost all using the P are satisfied with the battery as per their usage standards. On an average the 1305mah battery lasts for a day which is more than enough to get back home and plug it for a complete recharge.
I'm going for a phone upgrade from a Nokia 5233 to a droid. I've shortlisted the Xperia U, and Xperia Sola.
Actually, i struggle a bit with the battery life of my 5233(1320 mAh). Its pathetic actually. It barely stands a day.
According to gsmarena, both phones gots the same rated battery as my 5233. Now, that's wierd! Is Novathor that energy effecient? And even, the Xperia P got the same battery
I'm a moderate user, which includes browsing, some music, and messaging. Barely calls.
Can any Sola, or U user comment below? And please do help me choose my phone among these
The battery of xperia sola can last for a day and a half if you use not so much, but if you use more I think it will last for a day or less. But I think a day use is ok for a smartphone. And about other things of sola, just one word: perfect!!!!
I am also a moderate user like you, I love listening to music and browse internet. I listen to music about 2/3 hours a day, with internet browsing more than 4 hours (I am always online). + messaging and few phone calls. I can easily get through a day without any difficulty with my Xperia U.
Xperia U and sola are basically almost the same, they have same chipset, same amount of ram, same battery capacity.
Well, if storage is not an issue for you than you can get Xperia U for less, and you get front-facing camera which sola does not have.
If you really need larger storage then you should go for sola, but you will not have FF camera and irreplaceable battery.
Hope it helps you to decide which phone to buy

Thanks mates
Well, I'd bought an Xperia U, and I'm happy with it
I get about 13 hrs of battery backup..

I'd thought I would share my battery results on Xperia u. I'm really happy with it. This is on stock Rom not rooted with moderate usage.

i had a nokia 5233...my battery lasted quite a lot (without data connection)..
i have a xperia u right now..on ics, battery lasts for about 1.5 days with arounds 4 to 4.5 hrs screen usage!
P.S: if u can spend a little more (about 3K), u can buy the lg optimus l9, its got a monster battery (2150 mah) and recently received jelly bean update too!
Cheers
Is there any 3rd party company which sells high capacity batteries for Xperia P ????
Haven't found it yet. It is a relatively old phone and not used by most people. You can find high capacity extended battery for Galaxy S3, S4 which are old mode too, but hard to find high capacity battery for Xperia P.
