[Q] After ICS update: "No SD Card Inserted" message ?? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

after my ICS update i get the message: "No SD Card Inserted" message ??
also my pics are not on the phone. i backed everything up to Kies, but i thought pics were supposed to be there. all my songs and contacts are.
should i just take the SD card out and then put it back in ??
even when i plug it into my PC it only shows the phone...no SD card.

ahh nvm, i clicked Mount SD Card (not knowing what that means) and now it recognizes it.
noobs>Note

Hahahaha, happy you resolved it. It made me super worried for a second. But would you mind putting solved in the title for future referencing? Thanks.

Solved
like that i hope? i'll try to remember thanx
only 1 problem remains, i click Gallery and i get a message: "Media Scanner Running" ... but when i click My Files, i can see the pics so i know they are there...i just cant view them :-\
i even restarted the GNote as well (awesome that it can be restarted now instead of just "Turn Off" and then turn on) and after restart, the same "Media Scanner Running" message pops up and nothing happens. any ideas?
**SOLVED** nevermind again! lol now it started working. **SOLVED**

Does MediaScanner run automatically when you mount amd unmount the SD card? For some reason my doesnt.

omg now my phone cant boot up stuck at the android logo. again.
Use a microsd adaptor so that you can access your card using a card reader. If you have to borrow it from a friend. The same thing happened to me and I just copied everything to my PC, formatted the card, put it back in the phone, and just for assurance, formatted it using the custom recovery. Now everything works perfectly fine.
yep. use a microsd card adaptor. if you don't have one then buy.
i think your problem is on sd the sd card.
i inserted a broken sd card once on my phone, one time it boots up and sometimes it wont. but when it do boots up, my phone freezes whenever i try to access the contents of that sd card.
What SD card you have in your phone?
Good investment should be Sandisk or Lexar 8 Gb 4x.

[Q] "Removed Internal SD CARD! HELP!

Okay thanks to this amazing community I can now use my vibrant as a phone again! There is still one last problem that is making it so my vibrant wont work. When I power it on after using odin, it boots up as normal then goes into its scan for media, then pops up and says "Removed Internal SD Card" and goes away right away. After that it gives me the cant read micro sd card error. When I go into settings it shows that both the internal and the external SD cards are unavailable. Although it does show the 1.7gb that I have for apps. Everything works as normal, but I cannot use the camera, I cant root the device, or have any apps that require files beyond the .apk. Again any help with this would be amazing!

can you unmount/mount then reboot? Never heard of this before, and you sound like you had other issues but I don't know what since you created a new thread (I suppose?)

[Q] How can I get my SD card to be recognised?

So I got my SGSII today, and rooted it (using CF-Root), and installed VillainRom 1.1. Since doing all this, my SD card won't work. It can be read perfectly by my computer. I formatted it to FAT32 in Windows, yet still the phone doesn't recognise it.
Under "SD Card" in the options, I get "Total Space: Unavailable" "Available Space: Unavailable". Also, the "Mount SD Card" and "Format SD Card" options are greyed out. I tried booting to CWM Recovery, but there wasn't an option to format the external SD.
When the phone starts up, it shows "Media scanner running..." then immediately afterwards "Media scanning completed", as if it's not scanning anything.
I've tried searching, and manually looking through threads as well, but I can't seem to find anything useful at all.
So my question is: How can I fix either my phone or my SD card in order for the phone to accept the SD card? Many thanks in advance.
Hi, try this, turn off take out battery and sd card give it five mins then put them back in a d restart, it might do the trick?

My only old phone is an HTC Hero; would that work do you think? I've tried reformatting from my computer to no avail.
Just to add some more info. I tried re-flashing the CF-Root through ODIN, and also the VillainRom 1.1 through ODIN. Neither has fixed my SD Card Problem.
Okay, I managed to fix the problem. It turned out that it was, as said above, the formatting of the SD card. I had tried multiple programs but eventually found the sdcard.org official formatter, which did the trick.
Thanks everyone

Preparing SD Card

Hi!
Today I connected my phone to PC and moved some apps to it. While I was doing that, my phone's screen became like this:
http://neversixfeetunder.synthasite.com/resources/fuzzy20tv20screen20.jpg
.. and the phone was stucked. Then I hanged the power button and it turned off. When I was turning it on, LG logo was showing for about 6 seconds and then the screen was blank and only after ~20 seconds was the LG splash logo.
Well, when it turned on, in notifications there's showing "Preparing SD card; Checking for errors.".
Is this a problem with my phone or the SD card?
P.S. In 'SD card & phone storage settings' it says that SD card's space (total and available) is unavailable. Also it isn't possible to mount or format sd card.
I'll be glad if someone will help me.
Sorry for my English.
Oh, and I forgot to say that yesterday I installed franco kernel (v17). I have Megatron ROM.
Looks like the card is faulty/dead. You can try reformatting it in PC, but do not rely on it to keep your data for long, even if it helps.
I'll try to insert this SD card in other phone and watch, is it working or not.
I hope, it's dead and everything with my phone is alright.
P.S. I rebooted my phone again and the blank screen was only for ~3 seconds
(with removed sd card).
Thank you for your reply
EDIT: It's working in the other phone.
EDIT 2: I formated the card in the other phone and now it's working in mine, too.
What could be the problem? I had an app called "SD Speed Boost" and it was set to max. Maybe this is the reason?

[Q] HELP (Resolved)

The other night I was trying to finish rooting my Nook, and think that I may have done something that I shouldn't have in the midst of my sleep deprived night. My best guess is that I did a format on the Nook instead of my sd card. I woke up and turned it on, and it asked for a factory reset, which I did. Then when trying to setup the device a message would pop up that said restart required your NOOK encountered a problem hat requires a system restart. Then when I hit okay another message shows that states the device could not restart. I managed to get to the main screen, but the messages still come up when turning the device off and then back on.
When I connect it to my pc, it no longer shows that the device or sd card that's inside are connected. One other thing I noticed is that when going into settings, under other storage available it says 0.00B free of 0.00B. I am able to connect to the internet and use it as well as the other apps loaded, but when trying to save anything off the internet a message shows that reads, an SD card is needed, even though there is an sd card in and the notifications shows SD card inserted. The SD card also shows when viewing my memory.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Any help or ideas of what I could could possibly do to get this back to full functionality would be greatly appreciated.
