[Q] ROMs Compatible With Verizon Model? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Given the bootloader is locked, I'm assuming ROMs like Omega which flash the kernel will not work on this model of the SIII? Are there any ROMs that will work with the Verizon model?

Hi, welcome to the International Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300 forums
There is a sticky post; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756338
That can lead you to the correct subforum for your version.
You can also find it typing "S III" in the "Find Your Device" box up on the up of the site and select "AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III"
Hope that helps,

[Q] Upgrading SGSII on Credo Mobile

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S II on Credo Mobile (a Sprint reseller). I was wondering if it is okay to upgrade this device to ICS using the custom roms from MIUI or Cyanogen Mod 9?
I can't find anything online about people putting a custom rom on a Credo Mobile device. If something goes wrong will I be able to recover? What should I do?
If its a sprint reseller, you are in the wrong section. Spring Samsung galaxy is the SPH-D710, Samsung galaxy S 2 Epic. You should not flash any i9100 roms on the SPH-D710.

[Q] Compatible with T-Mobile

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if Galaxy S 2 international version ROM compatible with Tmobile G S2?
The Tmobile's S2 custom ROMs sucks and wondering if I can flash one of these ROMs if possible.
thank you
We need your phone type (i9ooo, etc.) to be able to answer this question.
Need. Moar. Info.
He's talking about the T-Mobile USA T989 as far as I can tell.
You have your own forum for that device because it has nothing in common with the Galaxy S II (despite the name, it isn't really a GS2...)
If you flash anything from the I9100 or I777 forums on a T989, YOU WILL HARDBRICK.
The only device outside of the I9100 forums that can run I9100 firmwares is the AT&T variant (SGH-I777). (Even that requires some work.)

[Q] Galaxy S3 Variants

Hello,
I've bought today S3 and searched XDA-Dev forums for some info regarding custom ROMs etc. I've found two sub-forums; this one and one for carrier specific variants of S3, my Galaxy is from European (Polish) T-Mobile distribution and my question is - can I use ROMs, Kernels, Radios etc. only from "T-Mobile Galaxy S III Android Development" topic or any other as well?
Please forgive this maybe stupid question...
Cheers!
The US-versions have another device ID, so they are pretty easy to tell apart.
Settings->About device->Model number will tell you what model you got, this forum is about the GT-I9300 (with or without 'T' suffix)
Hardwarewise the international and the US-version are vastly different so flashing one's ROM on the other will (soft)brick the device and potentially cause harm.
Thank you for clearing it up, I've checked and my model number is in fact GT-I9300.

[Q] GS3 Canadian user seeking which version to use

Hi Guys,
Brand new Galaxy S3 user here and I've just Rooted my phone and I'm searching around on which ROM to flash. Only issue is that I have no idea which version I need in terms of ROM. I know when rooting my phone I followed a different guideline and I don't want to fubar up my phone. I'm with Rogers and I know I followed a US/Canadian guide...
When looking on the get.cm website I saw this
d2usc
Samsung Galaxy S III (US Cell)
which seems to be the closest thing to me but I just want to be sure.
Thanks,
This is International I9300 forum flashing firmware from here may brick another model .

What is the exact model number of your phone? (can be found in settings->about device)
SGH-I747M
I've found the SlimBean ROM for my phone but even that took a while to hunt down.
I tried searching on get.cm but I've found that it never actually gives me my provider (Rogers).
