Don't understand. Sony is on 4.0, which not many other can offer. One of the fastest upgraders.

The S's successor could be making an appearance as soon as IFA in just a months time. I would highly suggest waiting to check it out first.
I've owned a tablet S since just after its launch and while I use it daily, there is still plenty of room for improvement. I'm hoping Sony REALLY steps up its game for the next tablet so as to try and make a big splash.
told you guys about it
I have prove and pics, but don't know how to post it
If by prove pics you mean the FCC blueprint I already saw it...more importantly than spec I want to know the price... maybe if they get rip off all the gimmicks. Maybe the price would be some thing good. The tablet s was really expensive in his release
But because is kinda cheap right now... I was thinking to buy it preventing 5hat the s2 could be expensive hell
All that would really sway me would be proper ps3 connectivity. Was a real let down finding out that the tablet can do nothing with the ps3 yet a ancient psp can

Is there a way to make it work with US T-Mobile 3G? Would custom ROM do the trick or is it hardware that does not support TM 3G band?
I am dying to get this puppy. Any pointers?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
No, the phone doesn't have the right bands for T-Mobile US. It's either you live with EDGE or you wait for their variant.
Thanks. I need 3/4g so I guess have to wait for US release.
Any ideas when it may happen and for which career(s)?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Announcement is on the 29th, the rest of the information of when it will be release will follow after that. Most likely the phone will be released around September on Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile soon following.
29th of what???

I just got Hot spot for my phone (tmobile usa), because get tired of edge
and I will never gonna buy US release...(just because tegra2)
+ better wait Nexus 3
Why bother with this phone when running on Edge? Or who cares about tegra 2 or nexus 3? All I need is a next gen phone with awesome vibrant shape and same it better screen. And that is S2. I am not gonna wait cause I might get older enough to start using dumb phone again with quarter size keypad buttons. Get a life!

I've just backed the project and the creators have told me and posted a video showing that it will work for the TFP it also works with form fitting cases so hopefully http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580468will be done by then. Only 8 bucks but only 36 hours left on the kickstarter page. They have already reached the goal so you don't have to worry about hoping they make it

Use it with a dock...
Use it while on an airplane...
Use it while not looking like your tablet has a hemorrhoid...
But ya, to each his own, I will just continue to use my headset when needed, or toss on the nice pair of USB speakers when I want to use it to blast music while painting the house.

I apologize for the tease without any date. However, I am currently working with a company on the tooling. What with my Gandpa's funeral last week and other personal matters this weekend, it's been slower coming than I want as well.
Rest assured that once I get the process down, making cases for future tablets will be a MUCH quicker process.

So, there are pics now showing something the OP calls Nexus X. I'm not trying to do a full blown analysis here, at least not before I check with my sources, but it doesn't look obviously Photoshopped (at least, not that obviously) and it's quite similar to the Xperia T, which already got some really nice open source support with most of the CodeAurora stuff suddenly working out of the box. So, let the hype begin.

Hey bro K900
I too read about it today morning in phone arena.
So if this is true we will be getting multiple nexus devices in end of the month
And according to your source
Hope we get jellybean at the same time

Yeah, that's not real, and I'm putting my two cents into the That Would Be Fugly donation jar.

Lets hope its not the only nexus. The LG nexus is ugly and I very much dislike LG phones.
I remember reading last time that Sony have no plan of releasing a nexus phone as it will conflict with their Xperia branding(or whatever).
Maybe they changed their mind and that's awesome news. Xperia Nexus, come to us!

Actually, it is possible after looking closer to the logcat.
The software developer has set it to false and I did talk about all this, root, bootloader and more to Sony Support and guess what?
They said that I have a wifi problem so I should update when I already am updated and I was not talking about wifi, trolled by Sony Support.
So yeah, looks like they are trying to get away with that but it is just the software since there was something to do with NIVIDA HDMI Support according to the logcat.
Maybe Sony did it for hardware reasons or they just want to be limited.

The Nivida extras are blocked for some reason, that must have the proper drivers inside.
The Nivida chipset should have such hardware, just also needs kernel modules.
We cannot see for sure if it is possible to enable such support.
There is a chance that the Android Developers from Sony blocked it but strange enough they offered something to me since I have been send ing alot of emails to them about root and the bootloader, explaining why it should be their and trying to get the issues fixed.
Here is the email from them:
Please accept my apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience that this issue has caused.
Sony welcomes feedback of this nature and with this in mind; I would like to thank you for taking the time to write to us.
I would like you please to state the problems of the new version of android and send it back so we can feedback Android developers.
You are still free to share it with them through their website.
If there is any limitation you having and we can solve it away from the Operating System please send it back to us.

No no I dont mean the chips just the connection to micro usb. Like for example the xperia play had the hardware they just took the hdmi point out in the realease version. Someone need to open the tab to be sure but like you say if there is a way to enable it by software we can do that and see if it works.

Yep, thats what developers do, they check, they create or get those files, they modify the files to lead it to the correct path and set it to true and then they test it.
I would test it if I can but the bootloader must be unlocked and I must be rooted so I can backup the system to get it working again but of course, there is a other system partition so we may not really be in a soft brick for long by continuously resetting until we end up into that system.
So way, back to HDMI.
So basically yes, we can maybe try to develop software HDMI if possible but obviously the drivers are required.
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using xda premium
If tablet is compatible with hdmi, we can add support to custom roms... Be patient... Wait for bootloader unlock...

You mean the tablet market. Because the handsets market is booming for sony and things there are really great, Sony Mobile has the best dev support at this time, they release kernel sources, alpha builds, flash tools, etc... If only Sony Mobile made the Tablets and not Sony Electronics..
Sony is a wierd company, they are split up in 4-5 seperate companies like: Sony VAIO, Sony Electronics, Sony Mobile and the audio/video department...
