i have rca inputs in my car and want to run the nav to it. please let me know thanks
if not could you point me in the right direction of one that will
No. You need a mHl adaptor for the Amaze. If you want a really solid one go with the HTC Flyer mHl adaptor. Then you will also need an hdmi cable.

so an hdmi cable will connect to an rca input on my car
Are you trying to use it for videos? If its just audio then you can use a regular 3.5mm -> RCA adaptor. But with video then you'll need a mHl.
you'll need this

Now that an HDMI cable seem to have successfully built anyone think an RCA out cable is possible?
I have one for my iPhone and find it very convenient when traveling since more hotel TVs will have RCA connectors but no HDMI.
I'm not sure about the technical problems of resolution coming out of the dock connector but...just a thought. Would also be great if it did not need power.
Thanks.
That's not a big problem. Just need a consumer group. Don;t know how many guys interest in it. +1

I'd probably be down for one, as long as it's not super expensive.

Sweet, so how do we go about it?
I'm definitely interested
I believe that HDMI is digital output, RCA jack is analog. Only DVI has digital & analog output.
You would have to get a converter such as this ....

That was one of my concerns. I am really not sure what kind of outputs the dock connector has.
Im in same boat as you.
The dock for the gtab is HDMI output
Where I would actually want to hook my phone/tablet to a tv I need to use a rca composite plug.
You need to buy a hdmi to composite converter and best I can find so far is $50 on ebay for one.

I have a dock but it's a PITA to take with you, need the dock + the power cable.
I have an RCA cable for my iPhone and it works great.
Getting an adapter would not really work well...too expensive.

Is the iphnoe hdmi out?
Both my droid x2 and gtab are hdmi out .
They are digital signals so you need a convert box to turn digital to analog

No, it's not. The cable is direct out of the connectors. I don't think the iPhone can send out HD signals, but not sure about it.
This is not the exact same cable, but it's almost identical:

But with the gtab you need to connect it to the dock in order to hook it up to a tv.
The docks output is a HDMI cable, which is a digital signal. Doesnt mean its HD its just digital. The Rca plugs are for an analog signal. You need to convert the digital to analog and a cable alone wont do it even if its hdmi on one end and rca on the other it wont work.
That cable may work for you on the iphone but this is a different setup

I completely understand that. I am just not sure of what the pin-out on the dock connector puts out. I don't know if there is analog video out also.

Tegra2 doesn't supply analog, so I highly doubt it has analog out.

Need a 5V power supply. Its shape needs to be redesigned to include a mini AC adapter...
RCA, RGB, HDMI Cable... Which one would you like better??
RCA
Tv I would use it is old rca (red, white, yellow)connector type
I am wondering if i can connect the Evo 3D to composite?
(Why? Long story lol)
I was considering this cable: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Z6Q1DG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Can anyone confirm this will work or a way to connect to composite is possible?
I dont need sound FYI.
I don't know about that one. There is a theory/rumor that the headphone jack carries analog video, however. I have not tested this personally. You would need a cable like this.
EDIT: there is more about it here. It may just be a myth.

Thanks for that... after researching a bit im pretty sure there is no way. It looks like the Evo outputs digital.. so theres no analog options aside from buying an extra analog to digital converter. Oh well..
I recently bought this cable, but I returned the same day. It says its micro USB to composite, which it's not. That cable only works with Droid Incredible 1. I have been looking for that as well
I've searched on the flyer forum quite extensively, and there's talk of HDMI cables and so on, but nothing about HDMI working on the latest HC OTA.
Has anyone tried this out yet? If so, has it worked for you?
In my experience (tried with two TV's) nothing is coming up on the TV.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
Works fine on HC, as always the MHL box is required to interface and the box requires external USB power.

Yeah I have seen bad HDMI cables. I had one that would not pass audio
HDMI on Honeycomb works fine for me too and no annoying task bar when watching a show. Now if they could only do the same for the apps.
If your having problems a Restart has always solved them for me.
Works for me. I found an app that allows me to use my phone as a remote control for the tablet
Link to the app?
The name of the app is tablet remote.

Could you tell me what Micro USB power adapter you use? I don't have any and need to buy one but I wasn't sure if there was a specific/minimal power output I should look for.

Doesn't seem to matter. I've used probably 6 or 7 different power adapters with no problem and also powered it from my PC usb port. As long as it supplies 5v @ at least 500 ma, the same as a standard USB , it should be fine. My favorite is a 4 port 2amp wall wart I got for $5 at a "5 Below" discount store.
where can i get a quality micro usb wire like the one that came with the original charger?not too expensive would be best thanks...
