Does anyone know when the instant rebate offer will end from Sprint? Will it be renewed again like it has been so far or will it end before the Evo 3D is released?
I'm asking because I want to preorder the Evo 3D from Sprint, but if I have to go through a mail in rebate I might as well go to Radioshack.

Go with Radioshack anyways. They charge tax on the sale price of the phone, not the "without contract" price. I know cause I added on an EVO and Shift onto my account this weekend.

Are you sure? Did this just start recently? They didn't tax me on the full price of the phone when I bought my Evo from BB last year. I still have the receipt. I was charged the two year upgrade rate of 199.00 for the phone and I bought a 35.00 case along with it. The subtotal was 234.98. Tax was 16.45. Total cost was 251.43. Tax rate in Indiana is 7 percent. Had I been charged tax on the full price of the phone which was what? 600.00? I would have paid almost 42.00 on the phone tax alone.
Now what they did do that I didn't like, was charge tax on the 50 dollar gift card which should have been deducted from the final tax cost but it wasn't so I paid 3.50 too much in tax.
Alright I pre-ordered it. The dude that worked there was cool... I almost thought they were closed because there was only 1 car towards the back and looked dark. Anyway the dude that worked there was really cool and we talked about the phone a little. He said he thinks early- mid June and also that he would personally call or email me when the release date is announced.

They have had it listed at this price now for about three months, and still don't have any in stock. The problem is, you have to pay for it NOW. It is not like Staples where you pre-order and they don't charge your card until it ships - Visions will charge you the money today and send you nothing and you have to wait an indefinite time. I don't like that setup. Also, when Staples finally does get stock in you'll be able to use any of their $20 off coupons to bring the price to this number anyway.

That's how I ended up with my One X.
If you want the BB price, but want to buy from AT&T, check if your credit card has some sort of price protection. My card has it. I just had to call in and they open a claim. You fill out some paperwork and send in the advertisement with the price and they send you a check for the difference up to $250. I'm waiting for my paperwork for the OG right now.
BBUY price match to Amazon $50
Best Buy has a deal right now where you can sign up before Sunday to get a $50 gift card when you upgrade, but they will also price match to Amazon.
I got the price match a few weeks back and got the phone for $50. The $50 gift card would've been nice, but I had to buy before the end of last month for another deal. $50 credit on my AMEX is better than $50 at Best Buy.
tl;dr Best Buy price match to Amazon = $50 plus tax [on unlocked price].

Best buy makes commission based on how many they sell. So if it is free they make commission only but if it is more they make commission plus the price. The phones are worth 600 so either way your carrier loses money in the short term which is why there are contracts to keep you locked in. Best buy is paid by carriers for giving them 2yr customers.

Where would I get a best price for an upgrade for OG?
I tried Best Buy and they said they only activate new lines. I'm not sure if I was lied to by a sales rep so they would not waste time on customers with lower commission than activation a new line. Other places have the same attitude. It seems only ATT stores do upgrades and also phones are the cheapest there when you upgrade.
BTW, I am eligible for an upgrade (not early or anything).

Best Buy Mobile employees do not receive commission, and they also do do upgrades so you were lied to or at least misinformed but it wasn't because of commission... Perhaps a misunderstanding or a new employee, but as far as I know Costco is the cheapest right now but Best Buy will match any ones price so Best Buy is always the cheapest if you use price match.
The question is which stores have good prices on phone upgrades?
(They usually advertise new line prices only and upgrades are more expensive than AT&T store)

The only thing that would drive me away is I don't like reserve auctions. Instead of playing the hidden reserve game with your potential buyers, just be up front with them and set your starting bid at the very least amount you would accept (around $600-$625 I would imagine?), and set the Buy It Now price at the high end of what other eBay sellers are actually selling their phones for. Just my opinion of course. This will also weed out the less serious bidders who will try to low-ball you. If you're worried about missing out on bids, do you really want people who won't pay $600+ bidding on your phone, when you know damn well it will sell for at least that amount?
One more thing - be prepared to give a prospective buyer the IMEI number off your phone (if they ask for it) so they can check to see if it's on the AT&T black list. Of course, I'm not implying you're a thief or anything. I just had a friend that bought a used AT&T iPhone off of Craigslist. When he went to activate it, AT&T wouldn't do it because it had been reported as stolen, and I think the carriers share this list nowadays. So he now basically has a wifi-only iPod touch that no carrier will touch.
Noted, and changes made. Thanks for the tip. I hope my first time selling something on eBay goes over well lol.

Wow I didn't know that. Doing a quick google search, this looks to be a brand new change that eBay implemented on May 1st. You might re-think my strategy then. I didn't know they forced you to do that now. I'd feel bad if I screwed up your auction.

I have done well selling my phone's using buy it now or best offer. I usually list it for $50 over what I actually want. At $725 I imagine you would get offers for st least 650 if not more. If you can throw in a case along with those head phones you will get some pretty good offers. I had a job selling stuff on EBay for 3 years and rarely ever did an auction. If you really want to do a timed auction make it end on a Sunday night at around 9pm eastern time.

And if you use paypal they will take a percentage as well. I sold my old HTC one x+ on ebay after not using them for years and was shocked at how much they took from me on the purchase. I sold the phone for $365 and after fees from ebay (~$38) and paypal (~$15) I lost 15% in fees. My fault I should of checked their new policy but never again

If they give you any guff, ask them what the benefit is to you for bringing your business to best buy. works 90% of the time.
If that doesnt work, tell them you were interested in the Geek Squad protection. Once you say that, the employee will avoid everything that may deter you from the sale. If you get the price match cuz you said you wanted geek squad, pay the $9.99 for the first month and then simply cancel it the next day. You will get your full money back with no hassles.

I got mine from Best Buy two nights ago by asking them to price-match NewEgg.com's price of $229.00, but they gave me a little bit of grief at first. The guy that was working in the cellular sales department in my Best Buy said he wasn't too sure if they could match online retailer prices, so he walked off to search for a manager's approval. I didn't wanna get hosed, so I followed him just so I could hear his/her explanation if the manager wouldn't approve the price-match. Of course, the manager started off by saying that they didn't price-match to online competitors, but she explained to me that she "...would do it for you[me] just this one time since you[me] drove 35 minutes to get here and the Best Buy Store in your town said they would price-match for you[me] based on the stated list on our corporate website< Best Buy Low Price Guarantee >. I'm aware of what our website says, but technically it's up to the manager of each store to decide if their store will price-match against those stores listed on our site." This caught me VERRRRYYYYY off guard and I honestly don't think she was being truthful with me about that policy being up to the discretion of each store manager. I think it's a company-wide policy, but there's a little bit of fine print on their "Best Buy Low Price Guarantee" page that I didn't notice until after I had gotten home with my Note 3 and just re-checked the policy just for ****s-n-giggles. In the second paragraph, it states:
"The Guarantee is limited to one price match per identical item, per guest and does not apply to: Contract mobile phones sold by any online retailer, the online prices of retailers not listed, the online prices of products shipped from or sold by third party vendors (Marketplace vendors) on designated major online retailers websites, post purchase price match requests to competitor's prices, Best Buy for Business™, offers that include financing, gift card offers, bundling of items, free items, pricing errors, mail-in offers, coupon offers, competitors' service prices, items that are advertised as limited-quantity, out of stock, open-box, clearance, refurbished/used items, our and our competitor's Deal of the Day, daily deals, special hour sale event items and credit card offers, BestBuy.com Clearance & More and Marketplace items, and items for sale Thanksgiving Day through 11:59 p.m. on the Monday after Thanksgiving."

ANNNNDDDDD at the bottom of that page in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section, they included this little tidbit:
"Does Best Buy ever run tests or promotions on a new or existing policy?
Yes. Best Buy reserves the right to run promotions and/or tests of new or different versions of existing policies either nationally or in specific geographic locations and/or for limited periods of time.
Best Buy may amend these terms at any time."

BUT finally, for us smartphone "enthusiasts" and all Best Buy customers wishing to take advantage of their price-matching policy, the VERRRRRYYYY last bit at the bottom is what you want to pay attention to:
"Effective Date: October 20, 2013"
