i would wait until at least a beta version. there is no wifi only 1x data. patience grasshopper with the way DH build there may be a beta build very very soon.

Can't wait for this! Watched the Nexus with JB preview videos and I can tell it's gonna be awesome!

Can't wait! With the source code out we should see some JB roms popping up pretty soon

so? when is it goin out?

I was fortunate to hold onto my Nexus when I got the Maxx. I loaded the JB rom onto it and it really is buttery smooth. I can't wait for it to hit the Razr line.

Can you gimme the link???
I want to track the progress.

Haven't rooted my Maxx yet - but, I don't known how much longer I can hold out haha

Ok no one else is asking, I'll bite. Are you telling me this is official or a rom someone is working on????
Why is the door on the right always locked?

I believe the source was released last week so they're just in the early process of development. Since it's not a major software jump from ics, it should be easier to test as we already have compatible kernels and radios from ics.

This is a huge FTW!!! I love this community!

I'm just wishing/hoping/praying/begging GSM devices aren't ignored this time...

hey guys, I called Tmobile today for a replacement Amaze because mine decided to have a not so sexy dead pixel lol.. and while i was waiting i asked the tech. representative about the ICS 4.0 update (he also owned an amaze) and he said he heard early June ... just thought id share that with you guys lol
Ahh that sucks but honestly I have no problem with that. My phone is amazing and its not even rooted . Thanks for the info man.
Mhm June... Just in time, that month will be awesome! Official ics for devs to use and bf3 map pack lol thanks for the info, let's wait for Wednesday, that's what HTC told me

Meh, don't care what version of Sense it uses. I'll just be excited that the Kernel source for it will have to be released, which SHOULD fast-track AOSP development, also, it will be based on Linux 3.x, and could (most likely will) update the radio.
early june is too late. consider sensation is getting the update already.

The sensation came out a couple of months before the Amaze, so it makes a little sense that it would get it first.
I'm perfectly fine with waiting a couple of months, I'd rather have a official update that's more glitch free than a early one that hasn't been properly tested.

it almost seems a shame that diablo iii has a release date but our update doesn't
I like the amaze but my sister is going to be rubbing it in my face when she gets ICS (she has the sensation 4G)

CDMA - RAZR MAXX ICS 4.0 Developers?

If this April 4th release date is accurate and we do get the update then, are there any developers left to make a great CDMA ROM for this device?
I'd certainly like to see a bare bone version (if it's possible) with odex'd files and other speed tweaks implemented.
Hope I'm not out of line asking this, but I'm a donate regularly to devs that put in the time and hard work.

Lets get jellybean on our phones!

Just kidding lmao, but theres an OTA out for the Galaxy Nexus .
We could also do a port from the android sdk... I'm sure this wouldn't be as far fetched as everyone thinks. Someone did this for my previous phone. (To get ics) and I don't think the kernel has changed much from android 4.0 to 4.1 so kernel changes shouldbt be a problem....
This is very tempting... Mods please do not close the thread
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2
***k yeah, that'd be so awesome
The ota is only for the ones they handed out. But shouldn't take long for someone to get it working on others
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
I say let's focus on getting some stable ICS ROMs that aren't Sense 3.6 running on this device before we tackle Jellybean. Considering we don't have the sources for ICS, it'd probably be a bit hard to try getting Jellybean on this device without it.
Once we get a complete CM build then it will be easy to merge the changes once the source is released.
Porting SDK's while good for passing time almost never work well (As they should, no driver support just basic OS)
But if anyone is up for some early Jelly Belly the Galaxy Nexus is only $300 unlocked at the Google Store
*EDIT* Sorry $350 not $300

Well we won't get RIL on there until we get RIL on CM9.
But if Joel fixes everything except RIL by the time either chad or newt get RIL on ICS, porting the fix to JB should be relatively easy.
Or Joel could pull a stroke of genius and fix RIL himself.

The problem with getting Jelly Bean on our phone is that newer hardware is a lot more complicated.
The problem is our carrier.

I think the issue is the LTE though, the eris was only a 3G device and i think it was said that the way HTC hacked on LTE to the Rez makes it a lot more difficult.
I'm sure eventually it'll get figured out. I also thought someone said erishasnobattery was getting a rezound? or has one?

Porting vs building from source have advantages and disadvantages. If I understand correctly when your porting, everything is pretty much done and modifications to code need to be implemented to work correctly with our phone. Building from source takes longer cause you have to add your own source code to get it to work properly. I know it's not that cut and dry, but I believe that's pretty much the gist of it.

Awesome. You probably already know but just as a preventive measure, when you do the write up, you should make sure you say to SBF if coming from CM10 or nandroid back to an ICS ROM before flashing. It will save you from a bunch of people saying it doesnt work. Just lookin' out.
