Hello everyone.
For those who can't find the app on the Google Play Store, here's the link.
If you can't download it from here, leave me a message. I shall upload it somewhere that is convenient to you. Thanks.

This link is supposed to be for those like myself who haven't been able to find the app in the google play store just because of country restrictions.

I've no idea. I reckon the developers are charged more for the availability of their app in more countries. Maybe B&N think that they've got not much customers from Asia, maybe, and thy just cut those costs.

Or maybe becauseN&N is not licensed to sell products in other countries, or wants to restrict the sales for other business reasons. Anyway, working "around" this is improper, in my humble opinion.

That was released in the Amazon Appstore for free (for one day). I tried to get it, but it says that it's not available in my country. :'( Any ideas, guys?
Buy it from the Market then, anything short of that is piracy, which is not condoned on XDA.

If its not a law in his/her country, then its not subverting a law. Outside the US, they are not bound to our laws. Telling someone to google search is not telling them to break the law, what they do with this information is up to them. Its a moral issue, not a legal issue.

I'm not promoting warez or piracy in the least, all I said was "go search google".
I've seen that in dozens of other topics, people saying to search google, sometimes even quoting exact file names or saying the name of the file sharing site. I'm not telling him which site to go to, what file name to search for or anything like that.
Hell, I'm not even promoting avoiding payment... there is no possible way for this user to pay for this, short of coming to the USA which just to purchase a effing $2 app is ludicrous.

I'm not the OP, but my country--in southeast asia--also doesn't allow me to get Amazon's Appstore to download the free apps. Which is quite a strange ruling because I am an Amazon customer and have purchased books and gifts before.
Anyway, I found the free internet trial version of Plants vs Zombie and downloaded it onto my PC. After playing it for half an hour, I decided I can't see the charm of the game. Of course there are others who like it--different folks, different strokes--but I'm glad I saved myself some dough.

XDA has strict no-piracy forum policies. What you're doing is supporting piracy wrapped up in loose wording to try and cover yourself. It's a weak argument I'd expect from an immature teenager, not someone trying to be beneficial to the XDA community.
What the OP *can* do is try to spoof Amazon or Market into thinking you're from a different country, and paying with a card. There's comments all over XDA where folks who don't have Market in their country spoof their IP, and put money into a Paypal debit card, and pay through that. It allows you to purchase it, even if you have to jump through hoops to throw your money at it.
If you're in an embargoed country with the USA, I can't promote any method for that - since that means legally you're not allowed to purchase US goods.
I may sound desperate, but I just wanted to suggest something:
Can someone who has access to the Amazon Appstore create a thread wherein he/she can upload and post the Free App of the Day .apk and update it everyday? Or at least post a link wherein we can download them apks, since they're free anyway?
It's just so sad for us located outside the US because we weren't blessed by such privilege. :'(
No offence intended, y'all, so please, no flaming. If you find my post offensive in any way, PM me and I'll remove it for you.
Thanks!
What you are proposing is against XDA forum rules, therefore it will never happen.
I don't believe it even works, does it? Isn't there some kind of DRM attached to the Amazon AppStore .apk files that makes sure it's attached to your Amazon account?

The point is... they are NOT FREE. They are paid apps that for a special deal, on that day only, is a free purchase via the Amazon Appstore (you can also access them from the Amazon website, but still need the Amazon appstore app to install them).
To link in any other method is to redistribute paid apps.
And it's already been posted that it's against XDA forum rules.
If the only thing stopping you from downloading what is most likely a $5 for free is a lack of Amazon account or not living in the United States, morally I see nothing wrong with that. But that's subjective, and if it's against the forum rules I suggest you just do as others said and find out what the app of the day is and go download the .apk online.
I suggest moving to the United States. It's not that bad here, promise.

So long as you don't lose your job and get sick, that is.
I much prefer the Leonard Cohen view of America ... "the cradle of the best and the worst".
For anyone who doesn't know how the "free app of the day" deal at amazon works from a developer standpoint:
Amazon will tabulate the sales and pay the developer 20% of the full list price of the app for each "free" transaction.
Essentially, Amazon buys each "free" app purchase from the developer at a reduced cost.
If you pirate the app or download it from anywhere besides Amazon, on the day it is offered, then you still burn the developer out of the money that rightfully belongs to them.
Amazon does this to drive traffic to their web site, and to score more money in advertising and hopefully repeat business. But this app is not free like other free apps - Amazon still pays the owner of that app for each person who downloads it.
Please do not do what you are suggesting. It doesn't seem like a big deal at first, but knowing this now you will see how wrong it is.
I don't find your post offensive, a lot of people probably do not know this.
Hopefully this can serve to make more people aware of how the process works with Amazon.

Hi
If I wanted to release an app on the Play Store for free but wanted the option that anyone can pay if they wanted to, how would I go about doing it? I dont want to have two apps, just one paid and one free.
Is it possible to have something similar to in app purchase but thats a way of thanking the dev? And does Google take a percentage from it? Or maybe PayPal link in the app?
Or any other methods?
You can use in-app billing to do what you need.
Google take 30% of your sales and as far as I am aware you are not allowed to link to paypal.
You can find a tutorial for in- app billing here or you can look through the official documentation here.
Good luck.

Lol. Why would anyone pay for something that is available for free? No matter how better the application is, if it is available for free than i am never going to pay for it no matter what. And when it comes to your question's answer no you can't do that, Google Play isn't offering any such option. Yes Google takes 30% of your sales and so does iTunes.

Fact is, some people will pay for something that is free.
Most of the ROM's, apps etc on xda are free. They are done by devs that enjoy what they do and enjoy helping others. People donate to them as a way of saying thank you.
Also, in the past I've put apps on Google Play that are completely free, with a donate version that is exactly the same. People have used the free version, then bought the donate version because they liked it. It's all down to the individual.
Good news for all Windows Phone/Windows store app developers, Microsoft recently opened Dev Center Benefits.

So because of getting into the Blacklist Google stopped there business with huawei.
Some websites say that huawei will not get anymore updates from Google some say they will still get updates and so on but only later than usual due to not getting it before the open source release.
So I'm confused now what does that mean for as consumers? Will we still get updates like to Android q or?

It means Huawei might be suspended from official support from development, tech support and collaboration from Google/Android work group directly. AOSP is still can be accessible to Huawei as an alternative, however, there's no set mandate regarding how frequently AOSP might be updated to Q. Any future updates can be much later than official source comparing with other factory names. It is likely but no set agenda.
It is very disappointing how US government uses all its possible resourcing pipeline in one nation trying to make an original 'open-sourced' platform now becoming a 'close-ended' product to kill a tech company. Very shameful action.

But I don't think it's capitalistic for a company to have unfair advantage from the government. China is not playing a fair game and since pretty much every company in China is affiliated with the government, it's definitely not a captilistic system. Protecting their own companies and making it hard for foreign ones to compete is not captilistic. They kicked out Google, Facebook, Twitter and even Wikipedia which is as unfair an advantage as you can get for companies like Baidu and wechat. These home grown companies certainly would not be able to compete with the foreign ones without a boost from the government. Again that's not free market competition or capitalistic. They force foreign companies who spend hard cash on R&D to just hand over their intellectual property to Chinese companies. I'm sorry but that's not what capatilism is about. I like Huawei phones and until recently I had used quite a few of them so it's sad for me to see them hit hard like this. However, this move by the US government was long overdue and I support it (quite possibly the only policy of this government that I support). Next time somebody mentions that this is unfair, please do some research and see what is going on in China.

Hey
You heard correct that Google has blacklisted and terminated all business with Huawei.
For the current Huawei devices that are in stock or being used Google will provide there services but for the future Huawei phones there will be no Google. Currently Huawei has got its licence temporary unbanned for 90 days which means they will provide Google updates till August and after that you won't be able to get the next version of android through Huawei until you root your phone and push the update yourself.
Hope this helped
