Unlocking bootloader help - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

i own an Xperia neo v and am trying to unlock it... I chose the test point method as depicted in the noob's guide which i found in the xda forums... it says to attach the test point to the ground (which i did using a wire and a pin) then connect the usb cable... while windows is searching and installing device detach the test point and windows will fail to install a driver which u then manually install from s1tool...
The problem i am havin is that when i attach the usb cable to the phone my computer doesn't seem to sense my phone at all... i've tried it on both my laptop and desktop and it's the same in both places... can anyone shed some light as to y i am havin this problem???

connect the test point, click ready,at the same and then connect usb cable...
this job better if do 2 person, one person connect test point and 1 prson connect usb cable...

i'm quite sure i did it the way u said it... connect the test point, click ready on s1tool, connect usb... nothing happens... i was holding the pin to the test point for roughly 5 minutes waiting for something to happen but nothing...

hurmm..weird,it should search the driver after u connect usb cable...
before this,i experience this problem for the first time, realized that the step is not correct...

Delete in device manager S1 device and try all again - when windows asking for driver, not let automatically search, but manualy select from device list and brouse for driver.

That sound's like it might work but can u provide some steps as to how i might delete the s1 device in the device manager?

this win xp system.make sure phone is ON and connect usb cable.
GO control panel>system>hardware tab>device manager>
search Universal Serial Bus controllers,if i m not wrong it will list zeus flash drive if u have already install it.
if exist,uninstall the driver...reboot...

ok i change the the materials tat i used to connect the test point to the ground... i am now using a paper clip and it seem to work but now this happens...

Bricked (Tri-color) Touch Dual - Help!

Apologies but have scoured all the threads and cannot seem to get to a straight answer!
Have a tocuh-dual which I attempted to update to the latest ROM from HTC and now I have the "tri-colour screen of death!) and can get no further,
The screen shows in thered band - RUUNBH | NIKI100 | SPL-1.16.0000 | CPLD-4. The white band shows "serial" and when I connect the USB lead it shows "USB".
But the PC does not recognise it at all and when I try to load a ROM or run MTTY nothing is found. How can I run a program on the touch if the PC will noit see it through the USB connection?
Any ideas?
Does your PC have active Sync installed? I had a similar problem when I installed a broken rom that would not boot up. I did a device reset using the stylus in the whole next to the USB, while holding the camera and power button to boot into the tri color screen. Once hear i plugged in my USB cable and ran a ROM install.
I hope this helps.
uncheck allow usb-connection in Active Sync
run mtty connect by USB
type "boot" without quotes.
same problem
i have got the same problem and can't get out of the tri-colour.
I try to connect with mtty and it says usb port cannot open. my pc can recognise it and in da phone it shows usb though, i don't really know why its not taking. if i type "boot" in mtty what will happen? cos when i click on com3 its opening but when i write "boot" nothing happening even with boot. any ideas guys? how to solve the problem????
Regards
u have to unckeck allow usb connection in active sync! then u can connect with mtty
Just one point - I am using Vista which does not use Activesync but Sync Centre and that does not give you the option to disable as far as I can see?
use xp

Tried killing the process but MTTY still says "USB port cannot open" - no idea what else to do?
If any Program use the USB Port ... no other Program can use the USB at the same time!

USB Device Not Recognized...

For some reason, whenever I plug my X10a into my computer, I get "USB Device Not Recognized", and the phone doesn't charge and I can't mount SD Card or use ADB...
It still charges through the wall socket though.
Anyone know what the problem is?

Your computer or SD. Uninstall any SE drivers with USBDeview and reconnect which should install new drivers and hopefully sort it out.
Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work...I tried connecting to another computer too, and nothing happened. So my only option now is to get a new SD card?
Hi, I am experiencing the same thing and this happened after that I first rooted my phone using superoneclick and then replaced my fonts with arabic fonts.
I hope someone can find the root cause for this error.

I've had off and on problems in this area. Searched around and found this thread.
[GUIDE] ADB, Fastboot, and Nandroid for Noobs
This is what he suggests to solve problems with ADB and USB, (below is ALL the work of the Guide author):
"Im not getting a notification of Android ADB when i plug in my USB"
Why: Your computer has detected your phone but as a protable device and as a storage device.
Fix: This took me a lot of research and time to figure out so this is what your are going to do.
First download USBDeview - Here
Unzip it
Run USBDeview.exe as Administrator
You will see all drivers being used on your computer
Highlight and Uninstall all drivers with the description have HTC Android (Should be 3 of them)
Right Click on the driver and press uninstall
Once done, Unplug your phone and plug it back in
You should now get the notification of the ADB device
Plug in your phone through USB and DO NOT MOUNT IT!!!!!
Your computer should see a new device and try to install Android 1.0 driver (If it doesnt, scroll down to the "Im not getting a notification of Android ADB when i plug in my USB" section)
Let it load
Once it cant find them select "Install drivers from my pc"
The drivers you need are in the Android SDK 1.5r2 folder (C:\android-sdk-windows\usb_driver)
Depending on your OS pick x86 or amd64
You ADB Android Device should now be installed! Good Job

Had the same issue my friend. it's the USB socket within the phone that is gubbed. I spent days searching for a solution to no avail.
Why don't you install PC Companion? You can download it from SE. Once you've finished installation, connect your phone and let it detect your phone.
After that, you can uninstall PC Companion. The purpose is to let PC Companion installs all X10 drivers.
Hi guys,
Well it's not the socket because I can charge it normally with wall charger. Regarding the drivers, of course I have tried with PCcompanion and it didn't work.
Thanks...
well i think it can be the socket, becouse, wall charger only uses two wires of the five the socket has, so may be data+ or data- wire is broken. Have you tried with different usb cable?
As the mobile usb socket only has TWO solder points and it is very small socket and the position is not the best, may be some of the five lanes of the socket have unsoldered...and this is why it charges but it cant connect to computer.
It is only an idea..i hope the cause is some driver, mobile configuration (have you tried to reset your phone? ) or the USB cable.
after changing 3 cables I got it to work...
Thank you for your support.

nvm i downloaded the file from nirosoft.com instead and it works fine.
USB Controllers
Usually if it works on another computer, but not your own, it is because your USB Controllers are messed up. In Device Manager go to Universal Serial Bus Controllers -> right click each one and say Uninstall(your USB mouse/other peripherals will stop working so be warned) -> restart your computer and let it install all the drivers again. Should be working now.
I'm on v2.3 and taking out the battery and SD card and re-inserting it solved the problem for me.

I'm still having this issue. 3 cables 3 computers I think its my port. Charges fine when I plug it into wall or computer.
Just nothing for data its like nothing is happening.

Incorrect. You shouldn't mount the Phone for flashing. There you need to be in Flash Mode (Pressing the back button while powering on the device).
I'll go for the obvious, have you tried reinstalling PC companion? If is says device not recognised it could either be damaged (phone or usb port) or the drivers haven't installed properly (more likely).
So try a different usb port and go though the steps on PC companion and connect the phone only when it tells you to and it should install the drivers correctly or try going though the repair phone procedure without the phone connected (gives instructions). Think it installed different drivers for flashing.
same problem do you find solution
try this
try to download a driver named SEMC_Signed on your pc
after that connect your mobile
before you install this driver go to Mycomputer right click choose Manage then from the new screen choose device manager after that choose Universal Serial Bus, Uninstall any driver related to SE
Hope it works with you as it works with me
i dont know hoe to upload the file SEMC_Signed here
I've got the very same problem, although a bit more advanced. It started out this way then the phone stopped being able to charge too.
It's the USB port and something to do with the solder joints not being very good/strong enough to the main board and pulling off, especially on earlier models of the phone.
It seems to be a very common problem too with the only options being repair to the port and mainboard or replacement of the phone.
I'm awaiting my new phone right now.

please help me nobody replying since from 3 days

my problem is that when i coonect my phone to pc via datacable its only charging its not showing usb mass storage and debugging option and what ive tried

3)i replaced my usb cable
4)i freshly installed some cm7 rom and even tried cm9 roms

[GUIDE][CM9][HOW TO ESTABLISH - USB Mass Storage]
Since you've stated that the problem exists irrespective of the ROM you use, there is a possibility that your microUSB port of your phone might be damaged.
Also try and install the drivers on a different computer and see whether it's working or not. Also, if you can, borrow another LG P500, connect it to your system, and see whether it is working as it should. This will help in identifying where the problem actually is.
Hope this helps.
If their aint earthing in the socket u plug ur pc then congrats ur pcb of the phone has been damaged

[Q][HELP] Xperia P won't connect with PC (Charging only)

My Xperia P just won't connect with PC, it just behaves like its on wall charger when I connect the cable,
no notification about storage mount, not even a sign of phone connected to PC. Neither on Phone or PC.
No driver install on PC, no notifications about device connected. Not a single error notification on PC. Even cant find phone in device manager.
PC companion cant find the phone, even flashtool cant find the phone, I cant get into fastboot mode too (installed flashtool drivers).
Tried every driver, cable, usb hubs, other PC, Windows 8, 7... nothing.
USB Debug is ticked in phone, PC Companion install too (still didnt start), tried hard reset too.
Its same problem as here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837977
Details about phone:
Xperia P
6.1.1B.1.54
Bootloader unlock possible but still cant get into fastboot so no way to do that.
Bought in Poland (T-Mobile PL branded, probably sim-locked?. But I'm using Slovak T-Mobile and it works)
Please help, I dont care about USB Storage now (I can get to it by Airdroid) but I want to root my phone and Im not able to do it beacause of this.
Try unticking "Enable USB Debugging" and then connect your phone to your PC. With PC companion installed your phone should normally be recognised by Windows.

Install XP drivers from Flashtool. Also install fastboot drivers from flashtool.
Here's the steps:
1.) Open Flashtool
2.) Open Fastbootmode in FLASHTOOL, (from the thunder icon)
3.) Connect your device in fastboot mode
THIS STEPS SHOULD BE DONE FAST
4.) After connecting your device, select Reboot into fastboot mode (via Fastboot) from the Fastboot Toolbox, (right side)
5.) Congrats, you are now in fastboot, flash any kernel you want with autoroots.

Unfortunately the port is part of the main board and cannot be replaced
I've seen at least one forum member that reported to fix his port by pulling the contacts with a needle, though I would not recommend it at least untill you have confirmed this is in fact the problem, at service or lab/store.

My Phone is connected to pc.No driver installation what is the problem?
Hello,
I have an Xperia P and since yesterday I have been having the very same Problem!
I can connect the phone via USB with my computer but the only thing it would do is: CHARGE
no data connection via usb.
I tried everything i know, like rebooting, entering fast boot mode, installing Sony Companion, enabeling / disabeling usb-debugging, deleteing old junk-data to decrease the amount of elemtents on sd-card... but nothing happens. neither windows nor ubuntu-mint will recognize my phone except from charging.
has anyone of you found a fix for the problem?
i run: nemesis kernel v.6.3 and Honami MoonWalker HD V6 (but i think its not a problem of kernel / ROM because i've been using this combination for a while now and it always worked!)

Do you want to know how I installed it on the phone? Then you should look for some tutorials, there are plenty.
Or do you want to know if it is actually working? I can tell you, it is, don't know why you wanna get a video or screenshot, because its actually not really realated to the thread's topic

same thing happening with my Xperia S :crying::crying:
if u find any solution plz tell me
Any news about this problem? Im facing exactly the same problem.
The phone works, but no USB connection. I cant enter in fastboot, nor flashmode, or whatever.
Tried all trick described in XDA, (rubber band, full charge, full discharge, etc...)
Factory reset doesn't help too.
update:
I have been using the phone without usb Connection ability for a while now and transferred data files via wifi-app on my computer when I needed to.
Eventually the phone died yesterday, because it is not charing anymore ;(
First it started like this:
I had the charger plugged in and it recognized it, showing the flash icon within the battery icon. But nothing actually happened, in fact, the battery kept draining.
So i tried differend chargers and cables but nothing worked. I wasnt able to prevent the phone's battery from completely depleting. Now, the phone won't turn on anymore and when I plug in the charger, the red Status LED will turn on for about 5 minutes, then it turns off again and nothing happens. I can repeat that but i figure, the battery is not getting any energy from the charger
Does anyone know how to fix this, yet?
The phone is slightly over 2 years old...
