Yes you can replace the battery but you need to find a new one if available.
Google how to disassemble the phone.

it's not as simple as just opening the back cover, like most phones, but it can be replaced, it's not built into the main board or anything like that. haven't found any sufficiently large capacity batteries that make it worth taking apart yet though.....but if you have a faulty battery, i imagine you can find an official battery to jsut replace it

Well we live in shenzhen so I think we should be able to find it really easily.

I found the battery and a video.

Can you retro fit NFC?

Was a bit gutted that my phone didn't come with NFC so was wondering if there is any way to retro fit it once more places are using NFC? I saw there was maybe sd cards coming out that gave NFC capabilities.

Orange are putting it on their SIMs for their new 'Quick Tap' system.

Having just watched that video, it would seem that 'quicktap' works on a similar.premise to 'bump'? As in, by tapping the phone onto another device, a connection is made?

That's essentially what NFC does. It creates a connection when it comes into close proximity to another compatible device or 'tag'

[Q] power draw stats

I've seen people say, "my phone was charging at 17mA," or, "my phone was discharging at 10mA."
What are these people using to find these stats? Or are they buried somewhere that I'm not seeing?

Battery monitor app/widget does a pretty good job of reporting those specs. It's free on the play store

Thanks! Trying to search for anything battery-related is almost impossible.
I know there are so many. Just search battery monitor in the store and its the first result battery monitor by 3c

Yes, that's what I use. And the dev is very quick with support if needed.

Battery

I've noticed sometimes when I change batteries that my camera flash blinks when I insert it. Is this a problem with the phone circuit or just the battery discharging on the contacts? The only thing I could find about other people's experience with that was from the phone getting wet. My phone has never been wet.

I've noticed this before with someone's phone... I pulled the battery out and the camera flash blinked when I reinserted the battery. Turns out this issue was caused by the SIM card because it was going bad. Could this maybe be the issue?

That sounds really odd. No, sim is good. I thought it may be something simple like static.

Mine has done that before stopped when i used the extended battery
Thank you for the reply! I was actually using the extended battery at the time. Just hoping I wasn't having a problem more serious with the phone other than a little static flux when touching the contacts. It only happens on initial contact. Taking it out and reinserting doesn't reproduce the effect.

New battery didn't fix battery life

Hi everyone, a while ago my phone's battery started draining very, very quickly. Even with the screen off pretty much all the time and no apps running, the battery drained within 3 to 4 hours or so. So I bought a new, 3500mah battery (old one was around 1400). This increased the battery life but it still drained for no reason. I updated my ROM several times but it didn't fix it. Any help?

Which ROM/Kernel are you using?
A standard CM10.1 ROM with the included kernel.

thats a pretty steep curve. Can you post the second screen where it shows what apps consume the most batttery?
Android OS might be the thing thats using the battery. Also, look at the top and bottom of the graph. The first and last percent take way longer to deplete.

Battery charging really slow

After 2 months I finally got s off via Windows 8 and usb 2. So I installed nusensesix Rom and I noticed the battery was charging really slowly, so I installed insert coin instead. Battery charged even slower. As you can see in the screenshot attached the battery is just a mess and for some reason never went above 50%. I calibrated the battery more than once for each install. This phones battery was already bad and know it's even worst. And I'm using the stock cable but not a stock adapter.
Use the stock adapter. Chances are the one your using isn't putting out as much power causing slower charging.

I don't have the stock adapter

Then find another adapter and see if it still does it.

Ok it worked I switched to a dynex charger I brought for my old gs3.

Glad to hear it's not the phone.
