Unable to hear - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I am running [ROM][4.0.4]RemICS v1.2 BETA(Team Remics)[7/2/12] and recently did the fix for the GPS, now when I make a call or receive one no one can hear me. The media speaker works fine along with the speaker phone any suggestions on how I can fix it? :crying:

hi,
It seems you can hear the other party BUT they cannot hear you after the fix. Did you try mute-unmute during a call.
tc

it might be a bug .......if u want u can try ics Rome like passion and iczen. or else wait till they update .......I my self used passion for 3 months and iczen for 2 months but I never had any problem related to calls! !!!!

I am a BETA tester, and can tell you, this is fixed in the new update.

The correct answer is No. While this "leaked firmware" seams to have fixed the GPS issue we do not know when it will be pushed out. Based on what I am seeing, it appears to be early beta quality. Figure a couple weeks to flush out issues, ship to the carriers, then the a couple weeks for them to certify it before pushing it out....basically I would say at least a month. However, this "leaked" firmware could be old as well and the carriers may already have it and we could start getting update notices tomorrow. The answer is, nobody on this forum actually knows.

Thank for your reply and i know no one here know for sure when it will come but then again i thought someone has more latest news then myself
Has anyone ripped the GPS fix from the leaked rom? I would like to try it but don't want to flash to the leaked firmware.

For you. I get unavailable messages. So its not a "for sure" thing. Unless i am doing it wrong.
GPS does not work for me either. After flashing I am seeing 12 satelites. All sats have an snr of 15-25 with zero locked.
I was able to get into lbstestmode using a market app called any cut. All of my settings are set to stock.
It appears that this update is not 100%. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.
op, if you are asking a question please put a question mark in your title so you dont waste peoples time with misleading thread titles. thanks

They have the drivers, the problem is some conflict in the libs I think.

Uhhh, no. Still not. Someone just asked last week, too... those lazy devs need to do something useful with their time (jk)! A better place to look for up to date would be the source (rootzwiki), but I guess they wouldn't be so patient with such questions.

I just had hummus, so I'd rather speak on the phone(or Skype via Touchpad)...
Unfortunately, this isn't possible yet....
O would have to agree. I used it a lot for Skype so not having those two features is huge for me. Hopefully soon?!?

I believe you mean "yesterday" instead of "last week". Alternatively, "every day".
This forum should have a 72pt font, blinking sign that reads "No, the mic and camera do not work, stop asking."

yes, but it's faster to just pull my smartphone(Galaxy Nexus) out and use Skype that way.
much rather use Touchpad running ICS, but I can certainly wait for the developers to come up with a solution.

Not yet, but I think microphone might be working in AOKP Milestone 5 as it wasn't listed as a bug and camera was. I have it on my Touchpad and will check in a moment to let you know.
Edit: it sure doesn't.

is dalingrin still developing?
There is only 3 bugs for the TP to be perfectly usable.
WIFI stability
MIC
Camera

Well, you're partly correct. Those are issues that still need to be resolved. But often developers have other priorities that end users don't recognize. Performance issues and stuff that happens behind the scenes.
The Rootzwiki team obviously has a different task list, and one that might be considered to be more thorough than what you've named. Otherwise they wouldn't be working on stuff and posting nightlies on the regular. If you check changelogs over at the rootzwiki site here, you can get a better idea of how they're spending their time and what they've been focusing on.
Definitions of perception of success in IT projects are subjective. It's not always as cut and dry as one would think. I'm writing a dissertation on that very topic as you read this.
Usable? Id say wifi is working well enough to be usable. The mic and camera I would consider as "nice to haves". However, I don't use skype or anything very often, so perhaps my priorities are different.

For something that's free, developed, and distributed by private persons who are not obligated to provide you with anything.
Why do people feel so entitled to things such as these?!
If you don't like waiting...learn to code, and develop a better solution yourself.
How much of your time do you spend doing something that you're good at and donating your work to other people for free? Meaning, if you were a house builder...how many houses would you build for other people for free?
Solution: learn to code. Do it yourself.

If you look at the posts in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209143, I think a lot of people are having the same problem. There was a post by someone saying that they emailed HTC support and they seemed to know about the issue, so I'm sure there's a fix on the way. There are not any known fixes I'm afraid.

Exactly based on my communication I provided them everything about me phone telling them every detail about problem and even sending them picture of bootloader main screen. So I hope there gonna fix it soon.. For now u have to use my old galaxy 5 as mp3 player

I'll really never understand how this happens with certain updates on certain phones...
You TEST something before you release it, it's not a minor issue.
My slight rage aside, I sent them an email about the sound problem and let's hope we'll get a fix soon.
when will the update come for Indian users??
In the other thread someone informed us, HTC told him, that they pulled down the jb update because of too many bugs. So I don't know when it'll come to India but I care more about a fix for people who already updated... Shame on HTC for this...

Maybe we can try and use the Sound libs and files from ICS to make it work?

Nice. I was told by a Sprint rep that an update was coming for the Note 3 on Dec 3rd. No idea what the update will be except it is supposed to fix all the issues with the last update (NH7). I Odin'd back to NC5 myself due to all the problems I was having. Maybe that will be L but I doubt it.....but maybe
