I get this every so often but now it's happening more frequently.
I get this when I boot into CWM recovery (v 5.5.0.4). I've had this happen before on other ROMs too. Currently I'm on ShoStock2. Usually I just reboot CWM and it's fine/gone but now it won't budge.
Anyways this is what I get at the bottom:
CWM Touch v.5.5.0.4.
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Is this something to be concerned about?
EDIT: I wiped the cache partition and error is gone but I'd still like to know what gives with this...I did some basic searching and couldn't find a clear cut answer.

It's nothing to be worried about, it just happens when you switch kernels sometimes due to permissions I believe, but wiping cache (like you did) fixes it.

Posting this because I am not 100% sure what may have gone wrong.
I bought this HTC Rezound from a friend who had already rooted the phone which made no dif. to me as I wasn't using any root features. Today I noticed the screen didn't want to shut it's self off so I rebooted the phone. Now it comes up to the HTC screen, flashes off a second and comes back up to that screen again and will not pass.
When I boot into ClockworkMod it says at the bottom of the screen
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I do not want to brick the phone, just wish to get up and running (even if need to restore to factory)
Can anyone point me in a direction to what may be the issue?
Thanks in advance,
Viro

What are you trying to flash in recovery to root your phone? Sounds like there may be an error in whatever your flashing to root your device with mount point errors.

That means that there is something likely wrong with the version of recovery you flashed, I suggest you re-flash your recovery image.

I Installed CWM v6.0.2.8 for My SoftwinerEvb 4.1.1 JB
and now I'm stuck in a bootloop!!!!
Everytime I Power Off/Reboot It keeps on coming back with CWM Recovery
I tried wiping cache/factory reseting/wiping data/wiping dalvik cache etc.
I only got this tablet for Christmas and I dont want it breaking already.
Also The Error I get is:
CWM-Based Recovery v6.0.2.8
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't Open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log

Last night, I was looking at an article I found on Facebook. I was reading the article, and my phone locked up (my phone has a tendency to freeze when I am using any web browser.) So I took out the battery like I do any other time that this happens. I put it back in after two or three seconds. I then turned it on. It is fine until the boot animation starts up. Then it will stay at the boot animation forever. I did not download anything before it happened. The phone is rooted. I have already tried wiping the cache partition and taking out the SD card. Neither worked. Would a factory reset fix the problem, and would it erase the root on my phone. By the way, when I booted in recovery and tried wiping the cache partition, I got the following.
ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.1.0
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
--Wiping cache...
Formatting /cache...

Skipping format...

What ROM are you using? Are you using a custom ROM or a the stock ROM?
I have a custom ROM. I am not sure what one it is, but I think it is CyanogenMod. I had a friend root it. This is the first problem I have had with it since it was rooted about a year ago.

Np I'm trying to look for a good Rom as well. I just cant find a nice and stable Rom. I'm gonna try flashing the PAC-man Rom and see how it goes. You should give that one a try too
@killer13666
A factory reset will not take away your root.
It will wipe call/text history, installed apps, etc and make it just like the 1st time you installed whatever ROM you are on.
