Porting ICS Apks to GB - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

how to port applications on ICS to work on GB? because when i get the apks from ICS and try to install them on GB it says "Problem Parsing the Package"

I want to know too
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app

Maybe u should extract the apk, modify the couple first line on androidmanifest.xml
See GB app for example.
Sent from my Walkie-talkie

bump..

anyone?

please someone can do this?¿?¿?

It's very hard/nearly impossible to do so 'cos ICS has many new libs and a new sdk version.

ICS has whole new API level, which GB doesn't support at all.

i think it is impossible because GB and ICS has different API level ..
ICS has API level 14 and GB only level 10, so the app will not work until the app dev create it to run with GB and older ..

I guess it'd be easier just to migrate to ICS if xou can't live without those apps.

Once i read a tutorial for installing the JB Voice search on ICS, and they just changed some lines in a file system, I don't remember wich one, but it's possible

Yes, but look at the api level:
GB: 10
ICS: 14-15
Jelly Bean: 16
Get it? If you try what you just said, it'll be MUCH more lines to add

is this still impossible?

[Developing] Sony Camera App UI For AOSP (AOKP,CM9,CM10) [Stopped For A While]

[2012-12-26]Announcement :
The Developing of this project will stop for a while ,cause i have a very important studying year ,my whole career future will depend on it ,not to mention the war situation in my country and the shortage of all life basics services [electricity ,food ,water ,etc]
so there will be no more developing until 01\july\2013
Sorry for the bad news
Goal :
Port Sony Camera to AOSP Roms (CM9,CM10,FXP,AOKP) for all Xperia MDPI devices and maybe for HDPI also
Story :
This Thread Was Started as A question
The Idea is To make the Sony Camera App the default camera app in CM9/CM10 since it's a lot prettier and also the AOSP Camera app has a small Function bar that looks ugly
Then as there is a lot of People looking up for this the Thread Turned to a Request :highfive:
Update 2012-July-06 :
I tried to port the Camera App and Libs from Mini CM Sandwich AOSP v4
The Rom has SemcCamera update in case you didn't want the AOSP camera look
I made a falshable zip (MiniCM port.zip attachment) of the ported files and flashed it to FXP CM9 Build 132
The Original Camera still working after flashing (because Mini CM Sandwich is AOSP based so the both roms have the same libs ,at least for the camera)
After Flashing the system updated it's apps But the SemcCamera didn't appear in the app drawer
After that I ported the Libs and Camera Apps from Stock firmware 4.1.B.0.431 and made a flashable zip (Stock port.zip attachment) with them and flashed them to FXP CM9 Build 132
after flashing the system has update also but the Original CM9 Camera didn't work (force closing) because the difference in the libs
as for the SemcCamera it didn't appear in the app drawer also :crying:
So, Any one knows what to do ?? (Please Help) :fingers-crossed:
My Device Is Xperia Mini Pro SK17i
Here's the files I ported from both Stock and Mini CM Sandwich
Code:
\system\app\CameraExtensionPermission.apk
\system\app\SemcCameraUI.apk
\system\lib\hw\camera.semc.so
\system\lib\libcamera_client.so
\system\lib\libcamera_clientsemc.so
\system\lib\libcameraextensionclient.so
\system\lib\libcameraextensionjni.so
\system\lib\libcameraextensionservice.so
\system\lib\libcameralight.so
\system\lib\libcameraservice.so
a Friend minachvim said in a post to me (see the full conversation here)That this problem was solved in Xperia X10 Mini Pro in a rom maybe called sony style by paul-xxx
I found the Rom but nothing about Sony Camera Mentioned ,Any one knows about this !?
That's All ,Sorry for writing a lot ,but it's better to answer all question that might be in your Head
Note :
1- Flashing SemcCamera Update From Mini CM Sandwich AOSP v4 will delete the \system\app\Camera.apk (The AOSP Camera) and add \system\app\SemcCameraUI.apk (Sony Camera ;which doesn't show in app drawer) that's why you'll see the camera app missing
also it doesn't add the \system\app\CameraExtensionPermission.apk (because it's already there in Mini CM rom and not there in AOSP)
2- SemcCameraUI.apk is not installable ,when trying to install ,it says Application didn't install ,so we can't push libs and then install camera app as any other app
Ideas :
1-Modding the CM9 Camera.apk ,porting the .png files from SemcCameraUI.apk ,but that needs editing the XML files (XML Programming) which I don't know anything about it
2- Make The System use SemcCameraUI.apk instead of Camera.apk ,How ? you tell me
3- Make the SemcCameraUI.apk visible in App Drawer and use it as a 3rd part camera app
you can save the camera app in /system/apps and then change permission. i hope it will help

Good Idea
Done Mate
I Tried to replace the Camera app
the camera app in stock ICS name is : SemcCameraUI.apk
the AOSP Camera app name is : Camera.apk
so what we need to do is to make the rom use SemcCameraUI.apk as the Camera app
coz just replacing isn't working
and i think we need to patch the .apk a bit to make it work with AOSP libs
I'm not a dev but I know a Bit
Any One Has an Idea ??

Jellybean porting

Can some dev port jellybean to armv6i phone. Basic port would do. I just want to be able to install apps with sdk 16 in their manifests. Currently running gingerbread 2.3.6 and kernel 2.6.35.7 codename=rel. I can extract all device specific files and make an update.zip using boot image and stuff like that. Could u just make the lib and etc files available. Thanks.
The ARMv6 devices are underperforming, and it is virtually impossible to create a rom with jellybean stable for daily use
What I want is to be able to install apps targeted for jellybean. How about using all gingerbread system apps running instead of jellybean ones so that it doesn't underperform but still be able to install third party apps developed for jellybean. I dont know how many devs will be interested in doing this.
You can't install application designed for Android 4.x on 2.3.x, it's simply impossible
No, what I mean is to compile jellybean then strip all the system apps and replace them with gingerbread's system apps. So the sdk is 16+ but system wont be heavy.
I have an ARMv6 phone running Jellybean, quite stable.

[Q] Need help or tutorial to modify cm10's framework for osb's dpi

Does anyone know how to decompile and recompile the framework for cm10 nightly build? I'm using Framework Toolkit by Themike *it simply cant recompile everything from original framework into new modded framework after editing the dimens.xml for osb's dpi (i assume, the modded framework (5MB+-) is significantly smaller than the original untouched framework (9MB+-), and the modded framework give bootloop). thanks
ICS apks are hard to decompile and and recompile. you got to search a lot to get a working apktool. the tool needed to for decompiling and recompiling.
moreover the apk is to be "signed". Just make sure you sign your apk.
you got to have a better understanding of xml for this. other than this i cant help. Good luck :good:
you can use mod to add OSB. it also provide modded settings.
Btw mate the system apps. Or files are not to be signed afaik and even if you sign it,you'll have to sign all system files with the same!
Isn't it?

Ghostfreak: yup, but i dun think CM team will sign all the apps they modify, are they? btw, nvm. I guess i better stick to ICS 1st, CM10 still kinda too buggy to be used on daily usages. JB source and resource for xperia are still too limited......
rajxelton: CM10 is based on JB 4.1.2, not 4.0.4 ICS (CM9) anymore of course the modding will be kinda different somehow, and CM10.1 is now 4.2.1 but under alpha release to test for development purpose. and ya, i do know those xml files under the values folder. i did made my own framework for my own use before.....

[ROM][ICS][PORT] Stock 4.1.B.0.631 From Neo L to Xperia Play

Hello everyone,
There have been some time that new ICS firmware for Neo L is posted, and over time i manage to get a collection of patches that enable Xperia Play's touchpads.
Thread that i found it can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189311 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176936
Since no one posted it as flashable zip, i guess i could do it.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8eMrl6yvYKyQXl2ZVdCWVJTcWM/edit?usp=sharing
I had to make compatible with Lupus ICS/GB V4 Kernel (system less then 280MB), so that means i had taken some apps from /system/app to /data/app (on the bright side, apps in data can all be deleted, for debloating purposes)
It should be compatible with other ICS stock kernels, but i didn't test it
Screenshots are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38841129&postcount=57
Credits for touchpad fix goes to Markpython for editing framework.res and framework.jar
I must say big THANKS to Wedges,Doomlord and CosmicDan's for their work on our's Play's kernel :good:
And ofcorse thank to other developers and chefs here on XDA forum for their work :victory:
Update1:
-Thanks @smokerman, for making a video of this ROM. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mjnw55pfX18
-This ROM is compatible with Lupus ICS/GB kernel V5, now it have 30MB of free space in system partition

What is the performance of this ICS Rom?
Whether in games & applications usuaro interface?
has some kind of mistake, or is completely stable?? the touchpad 100% functional for games, as in gingerbread ..?

Touchpads are compatible as any other ICS ROM, but i don't think it's perfect as in gingerbread.
Antutu score is around 4500 to 5500OC.
All phone functions works (GSM at leats). I mean, it don't have much features like other ROMS, but what it have, it works 100%
So far i didn't find any bugs (if there are any, it is most likely due my attempts to make a ROM out of Firmware files  )
As i see it, it is good ROM base-starter. To be modified, when deodexed... (this one is still odexed)
FInally as u promise a stock ics wthout fancy heavy apps.
Downloading now, let's see...
Edit: 2 things:
-why the quick google search bar doesn't do anything if i click on it?
-The system apps in /data/apps maked kinda messed up settings, but u could erase some usless stuff (like Wisipilot or Mc Afee) , like the guy before me wrote: "To be modified, when deodexed... (this one is still odexed)"

I know what you mean, but as i said, the point of this "ROM" is to be as close as flashing FTF. I don't consider this as "my" ROM, it is for everyone else to download/look/edit/compare and this thread can be used for discution about mods that can be done with this rom...
My idea was to have stock ICS from Neo L that work on Play (with touchpads)
And i had problems with system size (system+vendor partition on FTF is much larger, around 340MB, and it hardly be squeezed to 280MB, to be compatible With Lupus ICS/GB V4)
I did some changes based on this for my personal use, and i'll upload that version tommorow as "my" ROM tommorow (upload speed sux for me)
Ps: as i said before, stock ROMs are always bloated

So everything works here?
I basically just use my phone for N64oid, gameboid, Real Racing 3 and a lot of music and social networks (Instagram, Twitter, Face). So I don't care too much about touchpads unless I install a game like Fifa12 or Dead Trigger. But the problem I always have with all the ICS I've tested is that games like Real Racing 3 always closes (because of RAM).
Found a bug, the same on True Ancestor so i'm just gonna link it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40423492&postcount=118
Yeah, everything should work, only bug so far is double-tab opening when startint browser from bookmark shorctcut (as DanyXP said). Maybe it's firmware fault, i'll check afternoon on flashed FTF.
As for free RAM, you can use 480p version of kernel, it gives 30MB extra free RAM, at cost of lower resolution at video recording (i personaly can't see the difference, and for me, 720p version recording is look like upscale of 480p recording)
I don't have real racing 3, and most RAM intensive game that i played was SIMS freeplay
