Just got my new Samsung Galaxy S3 to replace my old iPhone because I prefer Android to iOS.
Having issues finding the Android app to buy music, all I can find is the app to play the music I can't buy.
Seems to not have an app for it which would mean only way to get music on the phone is to pirate.
Did you even bother to look in the Play Store?

Yup can't find an app for it and store doesn't sell songs.
Depending on your country you can use Google Play Store to purchase music, I can't because it's not set up for Australia yet.
You can also use MusicHub which is Samsung software.
Otherwise you can various websites such as:
7digital.com - they have various international sites, I use their UK site because they don't have an Australian site to use.
If you're are in Australia and want to buy it from an Aus there's:
bigpondmusic.com
bandit.fm
Optus have one as well which can be found with a quick google.
Personally I prefer to buy CDs and rip them myself using freeware called Exact Audio Copy, but that's because I like having my big bookshelf filled with music
Edit: I tend to stay away from bigpondmusic.com and bandit.fm unless I'm looking for Aus music which isn't available on 7digital, because bigpond & bandit are more expensive.

CD ripping in Australia hasn't made any waves, I think they're only interested in people downloading illegally or ripping and distributing, neither of which I'm interested in.
I recommend shopping around on the different websites for the best price. Maybe others can suggest more sites to purchase from.
It might not be as convenient as iTunes, but generally they have 320kbps mp3s and that's much better quality than some of the stuff I've heard purchased from iTunes.
Are you downloading direct to your phone?
I think it's a better idea to download to your PC/Mac and then transfer them to your phone.

Pretty good. But Subsonic is a better choice IMO. A one time fee of around $10-20 and a free app for your phone. Just open a static port on your PC and it's good to go. I can stream my entire collection to my phone via wifi or 3G. Does video as well.
Also no one is going to be poking around my collection wondering if I'd obtained mp3s legally or ripped from a friend or downloaded from mediafire etc. I'm really not hip on giving control to a company like Amazon like that.
get upgraded to 20GB for a year for only $0.69

i followed the instructions and can confirm it works.
I guess I am not seeing it in the link, but what album is $0.69?
its a ok deal, but Audio galaxy does a better job and its completely free and unimited room.

my Galaxy S II without a networked Blu-ray player?
I have
1. Legitimate copy of the movie
2. The activation code
3. A Blu-ray drive in my computer to access the files which seem is a 1.3GB .dc file
4. The Pocketblu app on my SGS2
My PS3 is jailbroke so I will not network it and my laptop runs Linux only so no actual proper Blu-ray playback software.

I can't even do that yet since the new version of BD+ used on the disc has not been broke yet. Which sucks since I wanted to copy the movie to my HTPC running XBMC, since I can't stand sitting through the opening warnings and Fox logos.
I can only get the digital copy to play on my computer. Won't play on my Infuse. I'll give my ipad a try tomorrow.

It's about to happen. I usually buy the Bluray+DVD version, but BB didn't have a set like that.
Doesn't it suck when stealing a film is easier than buying it.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't the purpose of including a "Digital" copy of the movie to be able to play it on the computer and portable devices?
Just found an app in Apple's App Store that lets you watch live TV with all the UK freeview channels for free over wifi. Just wandering if there's a similar one for Android. Cheers

cheers guys, the apple one was actually a link to this website. but the crazy thig is that on my ipod touch (which spec wise is way below the SGS2), the video is actually smooth, where as on my phone is a frame per 2 or 3 seconds. any idea if it's the player maybe? i used the stock one and rockplayer both with same result
edit: the filmon one is crackalakin!!! cheers dudes
A couple of guys in the office have recently gotten iPads & the boss is now talking about getting a couple of iTV's for the meeting rooms - to compensate for the fact that they never put proper IT infrastructure in there...
Will it be possible for me to connect with my TP? I'd hope to be able to flick through images, show & mark up .pdf's and possibly open some CAD files on the telly screen. Being able to use YouTube & play movies would be a bonus...

One option would be doubleTwist with the optional AirSync plug-in (which adds the Airplay functionality). Otherwise, you could just mirror the Prime's display using the micro hdmi output directly to the television for a wider choice of content.

But this doesn't mirror the Prime's screen, which is what I'd like to be able to do. AFAIK that isn't currently possible. Correct me if I'm wrong. We have an AppleTv in one of our conference rooms at work and I would like to link to it for presentations, etc.
Thanks for the responses. It seems that the solution I'm looking for does not exist. Shame... I will however install one of the airplay apps & see how that works out.

I do actually. Do you understand the question I asked, because your link doesn't answer my question...
If you have a 3rd Gen Apple TV then doubletwist doesn't work with Video. It works well with Audio. I had a case going on with doubletwist where they ended up refunding me the cost of the Airsync plug in as it wasn't working as it was supposed.
I think with 2nd Gen Apple TV you might be alright, but I haven't tried it.
I was trying out an app called 'iMediaShare' or something of the likes the other day. I was able to go through photos, videos, music (as long as it is stored on your device and not in gMusic), and youtube over an Apple TV. Looking through it, I do not see any way to go through PDFs or CAD designs though. For everything, your best bet as of now would be to use the mini HDMI and find separate apps for everything.
I have tried both AppleTV media player & iMedia player, but I cannot even see the Apple TV in the devices list. Its a third gen...

I've unlocked my WT19a's bootloader using official Sony method.
Every topic says that it removes DRM keys and the functionality of some apps, like TrackID.
However, TrackID downloaded from Play Store works normally here.
Is it usual? Shouldn't TrackID stop working after the bootloader has been unlocked?
Original TrackID does stop working.
Downloaded from Market continues working.
Also, Like button in Walkman stops working.

Music files, which include some kind of protection inside the files and require the DRM keys to be allowed to play.
Doesn't it sounds funny? Keeping DRM helps piracy hahahahaha!!!

That kind of music files have strict protection. Will post more info when I get to my laptop.
EDIT:
Many online music stores employ DRM to restrict usage of music purchased and downloaded online.
Prior to 2009, Apple's iTunes Store utilized the FairPlay DRM system for music. Apple did not license its DRM to other companies, so only Apple devices could play iTunes music.[5] In May 2007, EMI tracks became available in iTunes Plus format at a higher price point. These tracks were higher quality (256 kbps) and DRM free. In October 2007, the cost of iTunes Plus tracks was lowered to US$0.99.[21] In April 2009, all iTunes music became available completely DRM free. (Videos sold and rented through iTunes, as well as iOS Apps, however, were to continue using Apple's FairPlay DRM.)
Napster music store offers a subscription-based approach to DRM alongside permanent purchases. Users of the subscription service can download and stream an unlimited amount of music transcoded to Windows Media Audio (WMA) while subscribed to the service. But when the subscription period lapses, all of the downloaded music is unplayable until the user renews his or her subscription. Napster also charges users who wish to use the music on their portable device an additional $5 per month. In addition, Napster gives users the option of paying an additional $0.99 per track to burn it to CD or for the song to never expire. Music bought through Napster can be played on players carrying the Microsoft PlaysForSure logo (which, notably, do not include iPods or even Microsoft's own Zune). As of June 2009, Napster is offering DRM free MP3 music, which can be played on iPhones and iPods.
Wal-Mart Music Downloads, another online music download store, charges $0.94 per track for all non-sale downloads. All Wal-Mart, Music Downloads are able to be played on any Windows PlaysForSure marked product. The music does play on the SanDisk's Sansa mp3 player, for example, but must be copied to the player's internal memory. It cannot be played through the player's microSD card slot, which is a problem that many users of the mp3 player experience.
Sony operated an online music download service called "Connect" which used Sony's proprietary OpenMG DRM technology. Music downloaded from this store (usually via Sony's SonicStage software) was only playable on computers running Microsoft Windows and Sony hardware (including the PSP and some Sony Ericsson phones).
Kazaa is one of a few services offering a subscription-based pricing model. However, music downloads from the Kazaa website are DRM-protected, and can only be played on computers or portable devices running Windows Media Player, and only as long as the customer remains subscribed to Kazaa.

With DRM keys you can only play DRM protected files that you bought yourself.
DRM files have a mechanism that only allow them to be played in specific/authorized devices.
So, with locked bootloader (and proper DRM keys), you won't be able to play DRM protected files bought from another people.
Unlocking bootloader means that you loose DRM keys.
Loosing DRM keys means that you can't reproduce DRM protected music files that you bought from stores like Amazon, iTunes etc.
Sony thinks that a custom ROM/kernel would allow the user to reproduce DRM files on a non-authorized Android phone.
Sony sells musics, so... You've got the point.
Now I've got enough info. Thank you both!
