Hey whats all. I got my new Samsung S3 i535. Am new to his,So now i rooted only with odin, didnt do the recovery yet.it said i didnt have to it was a option the adb command. Now i see the optimum email accounts gone but have gmail still? Also the voice button on my qwerty board is gone? I can speak into phone to write?think its the s voice? Is it due to root? How do i get these things back thx.

One: this belongs in Q&A not development.
Two: what did you flash in Odin? If you flashed the stripped and rooted ROM, everything is missing by design.

Yes i did the stripped down one.

Does this look stock?

Hello,
I recently flashed a custom rom to my Samsung Galaxy 5 i5500 and i didnt back up my stock rom so i used one i found on these forums, now i am wondering if my phone will appear stock and will there be any files on my interal/external memory that i can delete (that will show that i voided my warranty).
My phone details are;
GT-I5500
2.2
I5500XWJP3
2.6.32.9-perf
[email protected] #1
FROYO.XWJPJ
------
I had to flash clockworkmod v4 onto my device before i flashed Cyanogenmod so i am wondering if all traces of ClockworkMod have been deleted when i flashed the stock rom back.
The reason i am asking this is my phone is broke (i can use it fine, but the battery is damaged somehow so it doesnt charge properly etc)
So basically;
Does my phone appear stock from the details i have given above?
Is there any files on my device memory (internal or external) that i should remove manually in order to get a repair?
And finally- is Clockworkmod fully removed from my device?
Sorry for the large amount of text.
Thank you,
I will 'Thank' every post that helps me resolve my questions.
Curtis.
I have sent in 3-4 rooted phones into HTC and they didnt do a single things about it, I would say youd be okay!
Thanks for your comment.
Can anyone else verify this for me?
I want to be 100% positive!
I've had multiple times where a carrier rep has looked at my device in-store, running MIUI or CM7 and they were actually jealous, they didn't get mad. It depends on how you do it. Have you tried replacing the battery? Maybe go in to your carrier store where you got the phone and ask for a battery replacement.
I've got a person from these forums sending me a battery for free to see if thats the problem, so i am waiting to receive that battery before i take it in store- so im trying to make sure its as stock as i can get it incase i have to take it to the store to get repaired.
Thanks for your reply.
You're welcome. Now, I'm on a galaxy s mesmerize, I believe you have the same tools with your phone. Could you go to the specific forum for your phone and find some files for Odin or Heimdall to make it go straight back to stock?
We have threads for my phone that you might have similar ones of, just look for "Make your phone stock" or "Official Odin/Heimdall" or something like that.
You should be able to use that to get back to unrooted stock and send the phone in, if the battery doesn't work.
Yeah ive already used a stock rom from the i5500 sub forum, but i am not 100% sure Clockworkmod has been removed- or if there is any left over files on my device's internal memory which should be deleted before i send it off for a repair!
As soon as it gets fixed il be flashing it straight back to CM7!
Thanks again!
If you've got a stock rom on there and haven't flashed CWM you probably don't have it Try going into recovery to check.
Just looked in your phone's forums, I'd say use Odin to put the phone on one of the roms under "latest firmware" in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=781149
and you should be good to return it. Those should all be free of CWM and root as far as I can tell.
Yeah it should be fine then, thanks.
No problem, good luck.

[Q] lost root after installing latest saurom rcvI samsung note at&t

just updated to the latest Saurom for samsung note at&T and lost my root and my contacts for some reason! I've flashed many roms and have always had my contacts back after entering my gmail account! I'm sill on the rom but no way to boot into cwm to reflash any idea's
Got it
I had to run unroot then reboot and cwm to get root back... Then logged onto my Gmail and went to contacts and did a restore from an earlier time and it brought back my contacts then I was able to get them on my phone
How in the world do you flash a custom ROM and end up withOUT root? I've been roming since my G1 days and have never heard of this, didn't even think it was possible! Regardless, its good thatbyou got it fixed, and even better that you had the sense to come back and report how you remedied the situation. Most people don't do that and anyone looking for a solution in the future are screwed.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
Ask in that forum
same thing happened to me after i flashed the rom :/ What did you use to unroot and root again through cwm? thanks.

[Q] Help. Rooted firmware, deleted important files, programs.

Hi Everyone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2
Kernal WXLP4 optus firmware.
I rooted the phone and stupidly let my son play with it and he has deleted important firmware apps such as Touch whiz and other things that are making my phone almost unusable.
Unfortunately there is no firmware repair on kies so i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what to do. I did a factory reset and it does not restore these important firmware files unfortunately.
Any help would be great.
Not sure what you have, but if you have Titanium Backup, you can restore the apps. Or if you have done a nandroid backup, you can also restore it. Last, if all things fail, I guess you will need to find the same firmware and use Odin to reflash it.
I understand your anguish, but look at the bright side. Your son took an interest in your phone.

Factory reset will restore will restore Touchwiz if not something else is going on that your son could not have done as its also damaged the hidden restore file .
Question as per rules = Q&A

No problem. You will get it fixed in no time. Go to this thread and follow the instructions provided.
Download your firmware.
Put your phone in download mode
Flash it with Odin as PDA.
It will not increase your custom binary count and it will restore all the apps you are missing. If I were you I would just install XWLP7 on top of what you already have. It will not wipe anything and you will have the newest firmware installed.
Good luck!

Need to get back to stock ASAP

Hey guys....I know there are several similar threads but I just have a quick question.
Rooted my vzw GS4 no problem with bhp090808's great all in one tool yesterday. Also installed TWRP.
For some reason my internal mic completely quit working in the past 3 hours...I can't answer phone calls or even voice search (speakerphone works though). I assume it's some sort of hardware failure.
about to do this so I can take my phone back for an exchange tomorrow.
http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=237
Will that take it completely back to stock including recovery? Do I have to separately get back to stock recovery to get rid of TWRP first?
Thanks a million.
Yes that's a purely stock version.

No sound or dialer after custom s4 root

Hi, i'm new to rooting and flashing. I recently rooted my phone using odin, and flashed a custom rom. I thought I did a backup of my original hardware but can't seem to get back to it. When using the custom rom, everything works except for sound or any apps that require sound, that includes the phone dialer so I can't recieve or make calls. I tried flashing new roms, I even unrooted and installed the stock s4 bell canada rom.
When the phone reboots, it'll say kernel is not seandroid enforcing, and from what I understand, that means that maybe my phone is still rooted??
Currently, i'm back to my stock s4 rom, but sound and phone still doesn't work. Please if anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Having the same problem. Did you ever get it figured out?
Hey, yup I did. U basically started from scratch. Downloaded proper Rom files and rerooted cleared cache etc, and re flashed. Then for some reason everything worked. There's the link in s4 Canadian forum with title along the lines of 'all in one' follow that. If u have trouble finding it, lemme know, I'll try and get it for u
HI did you have the link of the site? I also have the problem :/
