Stock boot and shutdown animations - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here are the stock Samsung boot and shutdown animations for Galaxy S III.
I have a branded phone so was after these and I saw another post from someone requesting them, I figure there are probably other people wanting their phone to appear less branded without having to reflash their phone.
I couldn't find these files anywhere else on xda, apologies if this is a double post.
This requires root access and a file manager/explorer capable of accessing the system folder of your phone.
If you don't already have a file manager/explorer capable of accessing the system folder, you can download ES File Explorer from the Play Store free. In ES File Explorer you will need to enable the options:
Up to Root
Root Explorer
Mount File System
I don't know how to write scripts so I can't make a CWR zip to install these, if anyone would like to take the time then by all means take these files, package it up and post it.
I tried taking some pictures of the animations with my SGS1 but the photos were out of focus so no point posting them.
Instructions:
Extract files from zip.
Copy bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg to /system/media/
Copy shutdown.qmg to /system/media/video/shutdown/
Reboot and enjoy the pretty Samsung animations.

Worked like a charm, thanks!
A nice touch I just noticed is that the LED pulses from light to dark blue while shutting down/starting up. Neato!

Call of android for galaxy s ii?

Does anyone have the call of android boot animation with sound for the galaxy s II? I can't seem to find one thats compatable. I have it rooted and flashed with entropy and have a custom boot installed, but I can't seem to find the COA one that works.
Download the bootanimation.zip located in the Attached Files section at the bottom of this post. It is formatted 800 x 480 which is correct for our phones. Copy to your sdcard and then use a root file manager such as root explorer to copy it into the /system/media directory. You may want to rename the bootanimation.zip that is already there so you don't overwrite it. Root explorer is a paid app. Super Manager by GPC includes a free root file explorer is you need one.
For the boot sound, the author provides an mp3 file. Our phone uses PowerOn.wav in the /system/etc directory. So I converted the mp3 to wav which you can download here. (dropbox - click to listen, right click and Save file as to download) Transfer this wav file to the /system/etc directory and you will hear the sound with the boot animation. The only problem is that there seems to be a limit of about 7 seconds on the boot sound. The whole sound file is there, but the phone only plays the first part of it. On my phone, the sound stops about 1 or 2 seconds before the animation stops.
This boot animation is sick, hope it gets properly ported soon

Need original CM7 Boot animation file...help!

Well, for some reason i flashed the Nexus boot animation throw recovery awhile ago, now i want to change my BA, but its not letting me. I cannot find the stock BA in data or system, and if i try and reflash through recovery, it gets aborted. Any ideas?
if you have the CM7 rom on your computer as a zip file, open it (don't extract it) with either winrar or 7-zip (I prefer 7-zip which is also free), in 7-zip go to system/media and just drag the bootanimation.zip from there to your desktop. Copy it to your TP's sd card then in your file manager (on the TP) go to system/media and delete (or rename) your current bootanimation.zip then copy the bootanimation.zip from your sd card to system/media, restart and enjoy. Hope that helps
The only problem I have is that there's no system/media... all I can find is sdcard/media on the TP
EDIT: Used Root Explorer and found the proper area it should go in. However, it doesnt matter what boot animation file is in that spot (some i pulled from the net, and the stock one pulled from the CM7 a3.5 build), it STILL plays the damn nexus ICS boot animation file. WTH?
And yes, i have renamed them. There is only one Bootanimation.zip file in there, all are renamed 2, 3, 4 etc. Regardless, it will not change the boot animation...
Another way to play with the boot animations is to place the zip file under /data/local and delete will revert back to the original

[Q] How to get back AllShare Play

Hello
How can i get back "AllShare Play" for my Galaxy S3? I installed another firmware and a rom and don't really know when it was deleted. I tried to find a solution but I couldn't find anything to solve the problem.
Cance
Go find a Stockish Rom that still has the bloatware........and just extract the System/app folder and put the apks that you want back into your current system/app folder.
Yeh useful tools are bloatware
Thanks for the fast answer but I don't know how to extract the folder when I have a ROM with the needed APK. Can I do this on my computer or do I have to do this on my phone?
Download the Rom to your phone or Computer.
Extract the Rom using a File explorer on your phone or a 7zip/winzip program on your PC and go through the folders...Find the
System/App folder it will be filled with every system app you can need......pick out the apks you want to add into your current set up.
save them to a folder and put them back on your phone....or if on your phone just copy them from the extracted location and navigate back to your Local System/App folder, make the Folder R/W so you can add and remove the system files.....and just paste them back in your current system folder overwriting the current ones. and set the premission to match the rest of the folder most of the time i think its rw-r-r
and reboot. sounds long.....but it only takes me 2 min to copy and replace the files and reboot.
its really simple once you do it a couple times.
hope this helps
Thank you very much, didn't know that it is this easy. I never opened the zip file of a rom ^^
What's the name of the apk? I don't see an obviously named app?

a kernal with ability of bootscreen

Hello everyone
So lets get to the point.
I actually want to know of a kernal with which i will be able to change bootscreen. Ofcourse i could have found myself but there are sooooooo many kernals to test.... Its almost impossible to find one. I currently use siyah. So if anyone knows please tell me.
No kernel supports bootanimation, you have to do a small edit to rom level to get it to go..

Ok i like messing with complex things. So, what file do i need to edit?
First of all serves:
- A sd card ( to save the file)
- the files of the boot animation taken from another rom or firmware ( to put in our sd before you put it in cellular!)
- root permissions
- a file manager (type solid explorer , astro file manager etc..)
If you have done all of this then we begin opening our file manager: By 'phone' go to 'SYSTEM' and Entered in the folder 'SYSTEM' we go to the subfolder called 'MEDIA' ! In Here we will find or 2 file format called QMG bootsamsung. and QMG and bootsamsungloop. QMG , or a zip file called boot animation.zip ! Then copy the files and paste them from your phone to 'SD' . So in case we have problems conversely from there. For this to mean we go back to system and go in the folder SD CARD. in the 'SD' we stick on files ( or by creating a folder or we may put them where we want! Glued the files back to system , always in the folder " MEDIA" and we are cancelling the two original files.
In this , we return back to the sd card, leaving system and copy the two files that we have brought in sd and that we would like to put as the boot animation . Copied the files and go system / MEDIA and here paste the file! Now by clicking on file , there will be a menu' , just go to 'PERMISSION OR PERMITS ' and put the checkmark on READ WRITE-READ- READ ! And restart your mobile phone.

Ok thanks i did as you said but there is no change. The mod contains only bootanimation.zip. Please tell me a way. Here is mod forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734434
The bootanimation is composed of two files: a .zip file that is located in system/media called its own bootanimation.zip (that and the video) and a .ogg files that is located in system/etc called PowerOn.ogg (the audio part)

P.S. Dates even a glance at google, there are many! Small piece of advice: if you read that they recommend to flash the bootanimation does not go ahead. If you follow my guide to the letter you'll never problems!
Installation procedure :
- Download the bootanimation
- if the package that you download and flash then from pc pull the archive and look for the system folder/media. Inside you will find the file bootanimation.zip , grabing it(without extracting the content) on the desktop and then copy it into the sd's internal phone.
- Always if the package is from flash, from the pc pull the archive and look for the folder system/etc and copied the file PowerOn. Ogg in sd's internal phone(in some bootanimation the sound file there is! It makes no difference)
- once you have copied these two files we have to enter with the rootexplorer in the system folder/media, rename the existing file to bootanimation.zip in bootanimation.zip.old (thus the store)and copy our new file being careful that it is appointed as well, i.e. bootanimation.zip
- if we also file PowerOn. Ogg then always with root explorer we enter in system/etc rinominiamo the existing file in PowerOn.ogg.old and copy our new file always careful that it is spelled correctly, i.e.: PowerOn. Ogg
- if we have not the audio files but what we have we don't like it then to delete just rename the file to .old -once copied files, reboot the phone, and enjoy our new bootanimation....

THanks for links.
I did as you said that is,
renamed bootanimation.zip in system/media to bootanimation.zip.old (in internal phone).
Then i put modified bootanimation.zip after extracting it from the archive i downloaded and put it into phone in system/media.
Restarted phone.... no affects! no change! its default!

if you want to put other bootanimation cel.dovete edit the info file inside the zip file.
estarete folder bootanimation
usually you will find two files
part0 folder (containing pgn files or jpg)
and the configuration file named desc
This latter open it with Notepad
you will like this:
720 1280 24
p 1 0 part0
The first line corresponds to the size with the frames per second
The second line:
P corresponds to a new command
1 corresponds to the number of how many times you want to see your bootanimation (on gs3 if you set 0, is in a continuous loop)
the next number would be zero, specifies how many frames to wait before moving on to the next command
maybe if you have different caretlle
ie part0
part1

Wrong wrong wrong stock Samsung boot files are QMG format always .
They have no bearing upon a custom boot animation .
Custom boot animation is in a ZIP file and requires a kernel capable of running custom boot zip .

Fullscreen Matrix boot animation!!!

I was searching all over for a nice Matrix boot animation for my RAZR HD, but couldn't find a vanilla one that took up the full screen. Therefore, I decided to modify a nice one I found (credit to HaLo2FrEeEk for the original) to work on RAZR HD.
Instructions: You MUST be rooted to install this file.
1. Navigate to your system/media directory using root browser or any other browser that can view system files. There you will find a file named "bootanimation.zip".
2. Rename this file to "bootanimation1.zip" and leave it there in the folder if you wish to revert to your stock boot animation at any time.
3. Take the "Matrixbootanimation.zip" and move it into the system/media folder.
4. Rename the file to "bootanimation.zip".
5. Press/hold the file to get a menu, and select permissions.
6. Set Owner to read/write, Group to read, and others to read. Click OK.
After these steps, reboot your phone, and enjoy your shiny new animation
