[Help] Some rooting questions - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hey guys, I just rooted my 4gLTE last night as well as unlocked the bootloader using this method: http://htcevohacks.com/htc-evo-4g-l...tc-evo-4g-lte-unlock-bootloadertwrp-recovery/
However, I noticed I still have s-on, so I dug around and found this LazyPanda found here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737123
so will doing that LazyPanda thing mess anything up for me? And what is the main difference if so? I just want to be able to root, maybe some ROM's after they evolve a little and Mobile hotspot. Please, anyone, shed some light on this for me. Thanks so much

I believe that the combined security measures in place wiill reverse any changes u make to the system directory where u need to put framework file. (eMMC & S-ON)
Wait for S-OFF.
Moved to Q&A as not development. @OP please read the rules and search + be sure of the section before posting a new thread.
Thanks.

Noob question about root? (Sorry lol)

I need to root a 3D on my account but i'm at a loss. Had the original Evo and never rooted it since I only had it for a month b4 I went with the Epic. I rooted both Epic's with no problem it was mad easy. However I don't know if its me but the Evo process seems like its more complicated from what I'm reading. Or maybe it's just the fact I don't have the 3D in my hand at the moment. My thing is what is hboot and how do I check what version I am on? I don't even know what s-off is either smh lol. Is there a link with maybe easy steps to follow? PS flame away if ya need too i'm a Samsung boy so I know i'm a lil slow on the Evo..

Just go on the dev section in the "stickies" thread and there are multiple threads on how to root and answer all your questions. when you get you phone, to find out what hboot turn off, hold power and down button. since it is a new phone more than likely it will be hboot 1.5.

Ok thanks I guess I'll do that. I did search the Android development section but this app don't show the stickies.. I'll check it from a PC instead when I get a min.

no worries. you should be able to view the stickies on the xda app, but not sure as I use Tapatalk. For it you just hit the stickes link.

I have no idea what you're trying to suggest to him.
If either of you bothered to do a search, you'd find that xboarder posted a list of stock ROMs in the development section.

Can't install official ICS

Hi,
i have Htc Evo 3d gsm with stock rooted rom "EU_Shooter_U-1.20.401.8_ROOTED.zip", s-off via htcdev and cm v 5.0.2.0 revolutionary. today i received ics via ota, but when i try to install zip manual from recovery i received this error:
assert failed: check_cid(getprop( "ro.cid" ),"00000000"..... (Status 7).
How can i install now official ics?
Thank you very much
You need to turn back to original state. So original firmware, kernel and recovery.
So flash ruu.exe of gingerbread and then update to ics.
Wrong section
*sigh*

What the hell is the point of different sections if when someone has a problem he posts it wherever he wants
And the purpouse of community isn't to answer same questions million times

The correct way to handle this is just to simply click the little triangle in the top right hand corner of the post.
This brings you to a little form you fill out to move the post to Q & A and goes straight to a forum moderator.
The moderator will move the post to the right section. Let the moderator do the flaming because they have the authority to do so.
I don't know why people just don't follow the rules. I don't think people even read the rules.
I can say this. I've been a member since 2007 and this has always been a problem.
The zero tolerance policy is a good one. Repeat offenders will just be banned from posting on these forums. Its the only way to get a handle on this.

Nope, doesn't bother me at all, if its not what I'm looking for, il save my self the effort, and the dignity and just look past it onto what I am looking for
I only opened th thread to offer advice,
My momma taught me "if you ain't got something nice to say. Don't say anything"
Yes people post in the wrong sections but flaming at them is a case of 'two wrongs don't make a right', there are better ways of telling people what to do apart from being condescending about it....It's not like the people flaming are paying for the hosting space or their servers are being clogged up....so just keep calm and carry on to a different thread
Shot out of my Evo 3D
Locked until I can move it.
Unlocked now, and in correct place.

To get back to the original question, I suggest you keep your root and S-off and just have patience until one of the awesome devs posts a custom rom based on the new ota.

Htc evo 3d cdma 4.0.3 root?

Hello all, I have been searching of a way to root the htc evo 3d on 4.0.3 cdma but I cant seem to find the right thread. I dont know if there is a video or not but I would really appreciate someone helping me out. I am new to htc as well as sprint and the evo 3d thread is so unorganized that its not even funny. NO Flaming, No Sarcasm, and especially no (no it all) that just goes thread to thread trolling, I just want a straight answer Please.
1) Unlock bootloader using htcdev.com
2) Flash a custom recovery (preferably 4EXT)
3) Flash a rooted stock rom (virus has one posted somewhere)
4) Get s-off using the juopunutbear wiretrick method
That's a basic rundown of what you should do, hopefully that should help get you going
