Has anyone knows how to root stock 360 using an application (gingerbreak 1.2 did not work). I need to root my streak without using computer. I was not able to perform flashing Superuser zip via Streakmod recovery because my streak's port was somewhat broken, when im connecting it to computer it was charging but it was not detected by the computer. I also installed the necessary driver but still no luck. Other than gingerbreak I also use universal androot and z4root but still was not able to root my device... Any help is highly appreciated,

nvm i was just being a moron and missed a important step
I tried using all the steps about copying the Update.zip file to sdcard, it didnt work. Error message came when reinstalling packages is (Invalid Signature) in the recovery menu.
I tried z4root, didn's work either.
I am helpless.

I can help you
superoneclick. that is all
Careful!
SuperoneClick does it!
Careful with rooting my friend. I got a Galaxy S bricked within 1 week, hard bricked.
Do you have android 2.2 or 2.1 and do you have usb debugging enabled?

Have you tried using the toolbox?
root
Just find z4 root app install and it will root you.
I installed super one click. Its done!
But, I installed ROM Manager and cant flash it.
Did you open rom manager and hit the top tab and pick vibrant?
Its probably because you have 3e recovery! The easiest way is to flash back to 2.1 eclar, use z4root then flash CWM with rom manager thats how I did it

Hi, I have a dell streak with build 12903 and a firmware of 2.2 and I wanna root it I came across 2 rooting methods. One is using superoneclick and the superuser.zip. And I am actually curious on which one I should use on rooting my device so can anyone tell me which method should I use? Tks alot.
Use the superuser.zip method. It works for me every time.

The root method has nothing to do with the capacitive lights flashing, that usually indicates mismatched baseband and ROM.

So if let say I will to root my device, will I have a chance of having my capacitive touch buttons flashing non stop? Tks

I already have and do in every message I post.
Can't you just use GingerBreak to root stock 2.2?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Just install it like any other app and follow the instructions
Much easier than messing around with SuperOneClick etc. Most of the "other" rooting methods didn't work for me
Installing StreakMod Recovery and flashing Superuser.zip works 100% of the time, regardless of ROM. That is why it is the recommended method of rooting the Dell Streak.
Gingerbreak won't work if you have an AT&T ROM since AT&T ROMs disable sideloading. Thus you're required to connect the Streak to the PC and either send the APK to the Streak using the Sideload Wonder Machine or use ADB from the command line to push the APK to the phone. If you have to connect the Streak to the PC anyway, you might as well use the recommended method and get it done without having to worry about whether your ROM can actually run Gingerbreak.
Superoneclick does not work on every ROM either, I believe due to the exploit that allowed that rooting method to work being patched. So again, run the recommended method. Besides, if you rely on one-click methods, how are you supposed to learn ANYTHING about your device?
I have upgraded my s5 with last stock rom 2.3.3 but I did flash CWM or streakMod and now I can not do anything to root the device.Maybe someone know any method to root this rom without CWM and USB connection.GingerStreak 1.2 is not working on this Rom.
Any help really appreciate.

Your English is a bit mangled, but if I understand you correctly you upgraded to the 407 ROM? That means you are in a totally stock state, with the stock ROM and a stock recovery. You need to replace your recovery with StreakMod Recovery, not Clockworkmod, so you can root the Streak again. However, to do so you need a USB connection since you have to run Fastboot commands to get the recovery onto the Streak in the first place.
Did something happen to the Streak's port or cable that is requiring you to not use a USB connection?
Short answer: there's no way
Long answer: the only other way would be to use flash_image and flash a pre-rooted rom on top of itself, which requires root.
Yes Strephon, you understand what I mean I upgraded to 407 stock rom.I can not connect via USB because my PDMI port is broken(sb broke pins).
So as I assume-I am stuck for now...

Hi, sorry to thread hijack but I also have this tablet, now I'm new to the world of android and rooting. But I have tried Superoneclick and it either won't work or it freezes on step 2. I tried a japanesey program and that said success but checked with root checker and no luck, I also tried a package someone had put together and that gave me superuser but still root checker said no.
To get the drivers for my tablet I used Moborobo and it downloaded them automatically. I assume I put the device into recovery mode correctly hold down vol + plug in usb and press power 10 times and the android appears which has fallen over? Well I got this image anyways and tried again but the japanesey program didn't even recognise and superoneclick just froze again at the same point, step 2.
Is there anything you could suggest? Or anyone know a fool proof way of rooting these tablets. I am new so might need a little more explanation than most, I read something about using scripting and I have no idea where to even start with that.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
