Most of the custom ROMs that are not based on Stock Sony one, require flashing a custom kernel so you need to have an unlocked bootloader!

[Question]-[LWW-wt19i] which is the best rom for locked bootloader

which is the best rom for locked bootloader????which do you recommend
For installing custom Rom you should have unlocked bootloader.. Best ROM under my opinion is rooted stock.. It's. Mostly bugfree... Also you can relock your bootloader again after flashing it...
for relocking bootloader follow this thread.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...9#post30725239

[Q] Cyanogenmod Bootloader Locked

I have a question, I have a xperia S (lt26i), and I have allowed bootloader status "no", I have the generic 4.0.4 android world, but hey seen you can install the root cwm and also do not need the boot loader unlocked, having locked bootloader could install cyanogenmod 9?? or any way to get it having locked bootloader without having to flash the kernel?
If this was in the right section you would get your answer a lot faster as a lot of people now ignore question threads in the GENERAL section.

Not yet would be the right answer as some people are working on trying to get custom kernel onto a locked bootloader as this is the thing stopping users with locked bootloaders have cm ://

I read somewhere that putting a generic rom 4.0.4 in specific and having locked bootloader cwm installed, you could install CM9, 9 not 10, because the kernel was compatible with CM9 and did not need to flash another kernel. And would have locked bootloader CM9 with and without flash kernel.
Its possible. You have to wait. check this thread, you can understand.

[Q] Official CM9 for unlocked botloaders only?

Hi, yesterday i saw in the official cm downloads, a stable CM9 release for my Xperia LWW, Can i install at normally ROM (i have locked botloader) or i need unlocked botloader?
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
Currently cm supports only unlocked bootloaders. Coz it can't work with stock kernel. It needs a custom kernel (so needs fastboot, so needs unlocking)
So you need to unlock it to flash cm.

There is a difference between stock based custom and custom
Custom roms arent based on the stock rom hence they need a custom kernel to run and you cant flash a custom kernel on a locked bootloader
Stock based roms you can flash becsuse they use the stock kernel
Simple as.
Oh ok I see what your saying thanks for the info. Appreciate it.
