Is it only me or ...
With "Sync Google Photos" and Sync Picassa Web Albums" activated I still cant sync my camera pictures with google+....
And the only way to make it work is to install Google+ app but then you can see picture twice in Gallery ... (one under camera pictures and the other under Instant upload folder....)
Help would be really appreciated....
What I did so far :
reset phone settings,
wipe dalvik
tried to sync with another account
tried over wifi
Sync report ok.... I have no clue !!!!
Thats how mine is. I just delete the camera photos after they sync.
Google + just uses the instant upload to put them in your private web folder. Having the sync enabled allows the phone to download those photos from your web albums and allows you to manually upload when you want. I dont think its for auto uploading like google +

So basically you mean that there is no way to sync camera photos without using Google+ app ?
I thought I could with my previous Galaxy Note... I dont understand what the "Sync Google photo" is for then....

As far as I know, not automatically. You can always go to the gallery, hold the camera folder and sync the whole album manually to wherever you want.
the link is broken on the google support site, but it use to read this:
Android 4.0 devices have a system setting that allows you to Sync Google Photos.
This setting enables syncing of your Google Photos from your web albums to your device's Gallery app. As a result, if you have a large number of photos in your web albums that have been uploaded through Picasa Web Albums or Google+, you may notice a high amount of battery or data usage during this sync.
This setting also enables or disables sync for Instant Uploads to Google+. However, to enable Instant Upload, you must enable Sync Google Photos as well as enable Instant Upload within the Google+ app

I am having trouble with background data usage from the 'Gallery' app. I think it is related to videos uploading when I'm off of wifi. In settings / accounts / gmail - I had instant upload on, and then in G+ I had to sync photos and videos only when on wifi and only when charging, but it's still using network data to background sync... and I have droidwall installed and 'gallery' is not one of the apps I white listed for network data.
Any ideas? for now I turned off background data since it didn't seem to affect any regular use of the phone and it does block the gallery app. Seems like there are quite a few options in the gmail accounts as far as photos go so not sure what they all do or what I should bother with. I do know that on my SGS, SGS2 this background usage wasn't happening and I had things setup then like I do now.

I am an EVO and Jetstream owner. The Jetstream is my new sole web device. I'm looking for a way to easily sync the pictures between both devices to a cloud service. This would really eliminate the need to transfer pictures from one SD to the other.
I know Photobucket has this option, but I was hoping google Picasa offered it. Or Flickr?anyone have this already set up and functioning?
You can use Picassa, it will sync with all devices using the same account.
Is there a specific Picasa app? There are a few available. HTC has a Picasa plug in for the gallery app under HTC hub, but I didn't see any upload options. I'll look again.

Been working on this for a few days now....
I'm still having difficulty finding out exactly how to sync a gallery and Picasa. I tried photosync which is found on the market and is a nice app, but it that keeps it from successfully syncing for me.
You say you can sync with Picasa... How? What method? My gallery in htc has no such option and I don't see any other apps besides throne I mentioned that does this.
Can you tell me your method?
I appreciate it.
Try google+ its tie into type picassa account and when you take pictures it auto sync rip picassa.
I found out by accident cause I was taken pictures on the phone and for some reason all these pictures showed up on my tablet picassa album. I tracked it down to google+

Well, that solves only half the problem.
Using google plus does sync my library to Picasa, but but it does not sync backwards. Meaning, if I add a picture to Picasa, it doesn't come back down to my Jetstream. Because of this, it doesn't sync my two devices.
Here is what I have tried so far:
1. Google+, works but only one way sync.
2. Froyo gallery 3d apk, gives the option to sync Picasa web albums in settings> accounts & sync > Gmail, but I couldn't get it to sync.
3. Photosync app from the market, worked perfectly but for some reason will only sync 14 photos Lolol?
At this point, idk.
If anyone else comes along with a method, Let me know. Ill be lurking.

On my SGS2 with ICS, I use Android's built in sync from Accounts and Sync, there are two options which seems like they do the same thing: Sync google photos; sync picasa web albums. May you guys know different, see attached.
I use ICS Gallery app to browse my synced photos, and at some point, after a system reset, a strange folder appeared and I can't get rid of it: Scrapbook photos. It doesn't have anything inside and I can't delete it.

Use FolderSync app on both devices. It offers two-way sync between local-remote folder pair (sub-folder is supported). As a remote service, you can use Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, FTP etc with it.
Best of all: It supports filter which means you can use it to hunt down jpg files from entire sdcard too.
Yeah, try Google+ it has unlimited space for pics(I think) and it syncs with the gallery.
Just use Dropbox the more effective way to access pictures from any device.

Google for Sugarsync. It should solve all Your problem. It is specially designed cloud storage for pics&videos (however You can also upload other files). I remember it had about 3GB (not quite sure)

Yeah, but there are just 2 Gb free unless you have S III or you trick Dropbox.
or if you don't want to use any cloud based service:

You can go upto 12GB just by inviting your friends.
When opening the Gallery receive the information "Failed to Download list of Albums".
The error occurred after the last update. Factory reset didn't help. Anyone have this problem?
Don't worry, I get it also. Seems to not really mean anything as the albums still load up with no problem. Also if you press refresh it'll say the same thing. Just a s/w bug.
Seems to happen to more people running 4.0.3. (search the forum)
And my albums are not loading
It has also been reported as an issue to the android code project on google.
Issue #24588
Hope this will be fixed soon

If your albums won't load, just use Quick Pic album from marketplace. It's a free app. Its good and will work for you till this bug is fixed. Seems like a problem across all devices with latest ICS version.
You probably have Picasa web album sync disabled in your settings. Enable it and you will not get that message but you will then download any photo you have in your Picasa web album, including your Google+ profile picture... The setting is located settings>accounts and sync>your Gmail account

Actually I do have sync enabled, as I want to have my albums synced from the web. Perhaps disabling will help.
My phone book when i had my arc use to sync all the pics with fb but now on the xperia s it has synced a couple was wondering if there is a solution or any1 with the same problem. I have fb inside xperia turned on so it should work
thanks in advance
They'll all be in your google contacts already I guess, so merge them there and they'll update on your S as soon as gSync runs.

I can't do it. I have sync my contacts through my gmail into my xperia s and then I logged in facebook and checked the option sync my existing contacts. But nothing happened. What i do wrong ??
Go into contacts
Hit menu then filter . Make sure Facebook is ticked in the option
Failing this , I had a problem where my contacts came over and not the pictures .
What I had to do was uninstall the facebook updates . Turn off the Xperia facebook sync
Add the facebook app updates , log on and set it to sync all contacts
Waited for sync to finish then added xperia facebook sync
It then worked
I had the same problem! Facebook updates and everything but will not sync my friends' photo onto my phone! Had to use "facebook sync" from the store/play in the end
I have a relatively same problem.
My contacts aren't synced with FB. FB sync either way syncs all my FB contacts with phone number.
I'd like it to sync only the ones that are already in my phone. How can I do that.
I'm also having this issue, with my X10 it was just a case of going through each contact and 'joining' them with their Facebook profiles, although now I've moved over to the S I cant seem to figure it out, i have the odd couple of friends who have pictures as their contact images but these are either coming from Gmail or G+
the occasional Facebook picture will link up but not all of them like before
I had the same problem. Just go to the settings>accounts & sync settings and there in Manage accounts tab you should have facebook inside xperia and there you should have sync calendar, albums in agllery and contacs. Works fine on mine
Hi i cant seem to find this option in my XPS.. "facebook in xperia" as that of the arc..

Ahh.. will try that. Didn't work first time. Maybe more luck next time
Although I tested mine and it works fine, I use Friendcaster pro for push notifications and contact pictures. The pictures are a higher quality and look really nice compared sometimes. I used to use it as my main Facebook app, but Facebook have really stepped up how good their app is now
Oh and by the way there is a free (ad supported) version as well, called simply Friendcaster
I've always had a problem with the image quality, but now it also downscales the images I set to a thumbnail format. Facebook images and manual set images get (I think) sync with gmail, and get replaced by a thumbnail version (same goes for facebook images, so i assume it's the gmail sync.
Any way I can fix this ? I still want to keep sync with gmail, and the above app "friendcaster" I might try, but it wont solve the problem for manual profile pictures I set.
I hate this, I've got a huge ass crystal clear screen, and only low quality and/or images with 100by100 pixels
i still cant get the phone book to sync contact pictures with facebook. i get three different contacts when facebook sync and facebook inside experia syncs. i get different info for each.
do we have to manually merge all the contact info?

Same here.
The only thing Facebook in Xperia synced for me was my best friends relationship status lol.
Urgh! I do not know why. But this still does not work for me, and its a bit frustrating!
Anyone have any solutions on the new ICS for this issue>
This is due to FB and Google not agreeing on the way contact settings are stored. Doesn't work on ANY ICS device without some kind of hack.
Whats the flag which defines the sync?
Hi, my ques is that what criteria or field is it that is necessary for a successful sync?
Like, i have 2 phone contacts with matching names as on facebook, and same email as used in their fb a/c (both hv no nmbrs posted on fb).
But one contact sync beautifully with bday, photos etc, but the other has no info pulled!
So what criteria sets d sync???
(SE Arc S on GB unrooted)
I got a Galaxy S3 (International Edition) just yesterday
I enabled it to pull stuff from my google accounts, but then when I'm going to open the contacts, I see a bunch of my gmail contacts
How can I remove those from the phone? Selecting to display 'only contacts with phones' seems to fix it, but the email contacts are still available to be seen if one goes to settings and sets to display all contacts again
The same happens with the gallery application, it has like one album for each image I've ever published in Google+, I can set it to display only images from the phone, but then this is not a permanent setting, everytime I exit the Gallery app and re-enter it, it will display all the images from G+ (and I've heard that it will scan the microSD at launch for images, so it will become a clutter of every possible image it can find in the SD)
I have now disabled the sync of google contacts / g+ stuff to the phone, from settings -> accounts and sync -> uncheck sync google photos/google+/picasa web albums/contacts, so it doesn't pull down new stuff anymore, but the old stuff is still there
Is there any way to remove that?
Is there a good gallery app that will not scan the whole SD for media, nor will pull stuff from picasa/google+?
Thanks!
quick pic is the gallery app for you, you can select which folders to see, or just long press a folder and hit exclude

Now just delete local files and you should be fine.
If you have a lot of them I would suggest to use File Browser such as ASTRO.
I think i'm toast but would like to confirm before giving up:
SPECS:
Google Galaxy Nexus phone
UNrooted
Jellybean 4.1.2
I accidentally deleted an entire album of photos instead of just one photo.
I look in SETTINGS >> ACCOUNTS and list two:
'me'@gmail.com
'me'@yahoo.com
The gmail account has NO syncing set up... the Yahoo account appears to be set to sync everything. (although it's possible i just turned this on when i discovered my previous mistake, as i was in such a panic i can't remember anymore, but there are times for other items synced earlier than today which leads me to believe it may have been set to sync all along)
I went to google.com/dashboard for the [email protected] account and there is a link to a gallery, but when i go to the link it states that the gallery has no public albums.
Is my album recoverable at all or is this just a lesson learned which will hopefully save me from a future disaster?
Thank you.

Have you tried to change your partage option? Set the albums at public, or something like that?
And when you are in the gallery, there is the mesage saying the gallery has no public albums, but can you connect you at this moment for see private albums?

I don't see anything to change the setting from 'private' --> 'public', but no, i can't see any of the albums when logged in as myself.
As well, if i go to GOOGLE >> SETTINGS >> Export Data and try to 'Download your Picasa Web Albums photos' it shows 0 files, 0B.
If you could direct me to the correct settings i'll give it a try (but i guess it's not looking too good at the moment).
Thanks.

Just download this from play store to recover deleted files, IF they had not been overwritten
