My boys kid set a password on his tab now he can't get in it I put galaxy task rom on it is there anyway to rest the password without resting the tab he has alot of info that's not backed up and don't want to lose
Haven't tried it but I think that you can pull all the contents you want from adb and then factory reset the tab. Maybe wait for a better answer if you want before you procced though!

I'm not sure if it works out not, but I've heard of an app caller screen lock bypass that allows you to bypass the lock screen, as the name suggests, so you can back up your data first, before you hard reset.

Not sure if it will work on our tabs and on custom roms but...
My wife's niece put on a pinlock, we tried just random sets of numbers and after 5 or 6 wrong sets she got an email asking if she wanted to reset her password.

Hi guys, i have been using my google account only in my single device since last year, on HTC Desire and then on SGS2. this year I also have Asus Transformer. So overall is 3 device with my primary google account. Last week, i bought the i9100G version for my girlfriend, and accidently put my gmail account first and created her account. i cant remove my account without wiping that phone but we rarely meet due to hectic life so i dont have a chance to backup her stuff, and wiping it.
so my question is, if i changed my google/gmail account password, my phone and other devices will stop working with google synchronization isnt it? i need to login again on each device isnt it?
why i ask? if something were to happen, i dont want my girlfriend to open my account, cuz all of my credit card info is used to buy apps~~ and she has the option to use which account on the market to download her stuff. my purpose is to let her download my purchased apps, but not purchasing it by herself.
Yes it will work. IF you changed the password it will not sync in your girlfriend's mobile.

I can't give you a solid answer (though, would be interesting to know) but here's an idea:
Since you're using your Google account on multiple devices of your own, just change the password of it, and then try to access things from one of your other devices.
However the other device of your's will behave after the pwd change, your (ex?)GF's phone will do the very same.
Educated guess:
No access anymore after changing password.
Done. I need to re-enter my password on all of my devices after changing it.
I should have thought it before. Stupid me. Maybe cuz i cant think straight right now.
Thanks guys!

Hello
Try resetting your phone or downloading Samsung kies to you're computer and do it on your computer that way, also an update might help
Hope this helps
Definitely a factory reset. Given you've only just got the phone this shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience.
thanks guys i'll let you know how it goes
Yep definitely post back & let us know how it goes. I completely messed up setting up my google account when I first got my phone, wouldn't connect to servers properly, etc, etc. Did a factory reset & was able to set it up just fine. I'm thinking this should do the trick with the Samsung account.

jus got home one question b4 i do a factory rest . i rooted my phone will i have to reroot after i factory reset
I think you just need to enable background data transfer in settings - accounts and sync - and check background data. You might lose root after factory reset - get superuser from market.

ive just recently set this tracking and sim change thing up and thought id have a mess around with it and check samsung dive out and see if it works and all works ok, but now i have a big problem what i did was basically set it up so it can text you when sim has been changed and also to do some remote dat wiping amongst other function however i now want to turn these features off but ive messed up and you know what ive done right ?......yep ive forgottent the password ive tried everything but i just cant remember it !!!
can anyone help ?
what are my options? ive just recently set the phone up how i want it too with ics and all that aswell so didnt fancy factory reset etc
security>find my mobile>sim change alert> FORGOT PASSWORD!!!
its bugging me because lets say i wanted to sell the phone then what happens? if say they want to know etc ....im such an idiot but i dont know what it is as i normally never forget my password maybe im getting old lol!
Factory reset mate. Or check on the Samsung Dive website.
Don't worry about when it comes to selling the phone as a factory reset or flashing a stock firmware will remove that anyway.

im running stock ics . I logged into dive with no probs but the password on the phone must be something else and there is no option to change that. i may have to try and forget about bit I'm one of those who just has to sort it or i won't be able to stop thinking about it lol. Looks like its factory reset then ....and so will lose root etc etc and setup all again ....damn!
Thank mate for reply

No problem. Just create a new account again once all set up and write down your password

solved
I deleted samsung acount from device and re entered and voila it now works so it was not the password it was something else ? because the same password i thought it always was now seems to work, so the only thing i feel it could be is something just went wrong when i updated the phone to ics recently as when i did the update via kies and then the phone booted up it automatically restored the device's setting and apps etc to exactly how it was when on GB ? i myself did no do a back up or restore it just did it which was great!.......i do have the inbuilt back up and reset function ticked though
anyway i now can changed the sim change etc alerts again
Been at the hospital for several days. My older brother was in a motorcycle accident and now I'm waiting to see if there's enough brain function left to continue treatment. He has and EVO 3d on Sprint. I need some help to get past his screen lock (numeric pin) so I can go through his contacts. This may get modded down but I'm desperate. Can anyone help me?

Sorry to hear that.
Is the device rooted?
I don't know his gmail and the phone is bone stock. Thx.
You could factory reset his phone, but that would also erase his contacts...
Exactly.
I need to contact some of his friends and I need their numbers off his phone. Can't factory reset.
Call sprint or whoever and act like him tell them u need to reset your password bcuz u forgot it and u can't unlock your phone they might ask for his ss # just a thought..good luck

Can't bypass, gonna have to try different pins he may have used. Sprint will not know his pin.

If contacts all what you need. try to login to his gmail account and contacts will be there because they are typically synched with his gmail account.
Your other option to see his bill statement either online or on paper. you will see his contacts phone numbers typically there with location but not name.
Install android commander on Windows. Connect to your computer and if he had usb debugging "checked" you will be able to access everything via. Windows. Long shot but worth a try. I did this when I smashed my screen and needed to get everything off of it before I sent it in. I'm sorry to hear about your brother.

Normally I might chide you for being in the wrong section, but you've been through enough. I'm truly sorry about your brother and I wish I knew a way to unlock his phone. Life sucks sometimes.

Maybe Google can allow access if you write them? Or at least pretend to be him using his ss#?

Really bro? I'm so sick of the 300 mods we have in the 3vo section! Is it in the wrong section? Yes. Did you have to say what u said? NO! I would have done the same damn thing because he's getting answers faster this way. Go be a **** somewhere else...Anyway you might want to try doing the old trick from the early android days. Call his phone from another one and answer it. When u answer it hit the home button and see where that gets you. Hope this helps and God Bless your family

So sorry to hear about your brother. I work for Sprint and unfortunately there is no way to get around a pattern/passcode lock on the phone without a gmail username/password or a hard reset. What you can do is check the sd card to see if there is a vcard file on it. It's possible he made a backup of the contacts on there. The file will end with .vcf. If you see any files like that put them on a computer and import them into another gmail account that you have access to. Hope this helps and I wish your brother luck to recover from his accident.
You could use Juopunutbear to get S-OFF and then flash a custom recovery from fastboot and then either pull his GMail account information from there or at least bypass the lockscreen.

There is no way to bypass the lock screen or get gmail info through the recovery. Plus I'm pretty sure the Juopunutbear bootloader unlocker hard resets the device.
Couldn't you pull the data partition with a recovery menu?
if you know is gmail, then attempt to do a password recovery of it. if u manage to get the password then you'll find all is contacts most likely synced with Google contacts.
check if hes still loggged into his gmail on his PC.
if hes using Firefox, he might of have had firefox save his password on his pc (assuming he as a computer) in the firefox options u can look at a master list of saved passwords and hopefully his gmail would be included...
found a link here: i havent tried it but its worth a shot.
http://droidlessons.com/how-to-reset-your-android-lock-screen-password/
If your familiar with rooting and modding. then maybe u can get clockworkmod on there and from there do a dirty flash of MeanROM or or CM9. there by flashing over the lock screen and pattern while keeping data.... this should be a last resort...
If he has his own computer you could try loging into his Play store and instal an app called : Screen Lock Bypass (search it on Play store).
If this doesnt help then your best luck is to search on Google "bypass android pin lock" and hopefully you find some methods.
And good luck to your brother i hope he gets better. =)
I was able to figure out his yahoo password which allowed me to reset his gmail password! I got his contacts. Thanks!
Anyway I will try to unlock the phone later when this all settles down so one of his sons can at least use it. (Their Mom passed away last summer, they are in their early 20's)
Thank you so much guys!
Anyone have any experience with the 2014 NOTE 10.1 RETAIL MODE APP???
I have used this type of product on a Blackberry Playbook and was wondering if it worked the same way, In the retail mode on the Playbook you can do most functions but when you leave that mode everything that the user did is erased and the tablet goes back to the way it was before activating the demo mode.
It also would play a video if not touched for a preset time.
There is a password that you need to activate it, anyone know the password for this version as well as the one for the 2012 Note 10.1?
UPDATE I figured out the password and at this time I would not recommend that you activate the retail mode. It does not work the way I though but I'm still messing with it. Seems that it my need to be factory reset to get it off..
Will update with more details as I find them.
2nd UPDATEThis demo works nothing like the one that is on my Playbook.
WARNING
YOU CAN NOT REMOVE THIS APP AND YOU MUST DO A FACTORY RESET TO GET RID OF IT.
Password
So whats the password?
Im using the password working on every other Samsung Galaxy device but it dont seem to work on this 2014 Edition,
Please help! :good:

Don't think you know what you are getting yourself into with this App.
When you run this app it will disable parts of you tablet and add media files. You need a password to disable it and I did not figure that one out. The only way to get rid of the app is to do a factory reset.
If you want any of the songs, photo's or video that it puts on the tablet make sure you save the files onto your computer or to the cloud as it will erase all of them when you do the factory reset.
If you are still dead set on trying the app I will only give you a hint as to what the password is .......... the password is one of the words in the devices name.
