Annoying landscape to portrait and back animation. - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I haven't seen this mentioned before, I'm sure it has somewhere, but does anyone else find that animation incredibly annoying? Say when you're in portrait and you open the messages app and it switches to landscape as it's opening and then back to portrait. Does anyone know of a way to turn that off? I was just sending a few messages and sitting at my computer so it reminded me about it, thought I'd see if anyone else finds that as superfluous as I do.
Edit: I was just playing around with it and actually paying attention to it. It seems that if you close the app in landscape and then re-open in portrait it does that annoying animation. I've had it happen in several apps, messages, untappd, XDA, etc. Pretty much any app I've tried. Maybe I'm just nit-picking but it doesn't seem necessary. Seems like something HTC added to make things seem faster "it closed in landscape so if it opened and immediately switched to landscape it would speed things up" or something like that. It's just kind of annoying at times and I felt like venting. Probably has nothing to do with the Dogfish, Victory, and Sierra Nevada

Screen lights up every time I get a text

I'm just wondering if this is something that is supposed to happen. I remember installing an app when I first got the phone that was supposed to do just that, but I deleted it, and have also completely reset my phone since.
I don't recall it doing so initially, but that was also during week one and I have about the memory of the goldfish. If anyone could shed some light on this for me I would greatly appreciate it. It kinda makes pocket dialing a slight problem (I use my phone FAR too actively to set a pattern lock). Thanks.
Oops, meant for this to go in general. Side effect of posting right before bed.
Mods, please move this.
Mine does the exact same thing, did it right out of the box. It dosent do it for email just text messages. I have no clue if its a setting or not tho.
Yeah I think it's supposed to since there are no LED indicators =/
yah that's the default setting. i think you can change it but i'm not sure how. the one thing that bothers me is that texts make the screen turn on but messages from google talk don't.
Okay.
It's just frustrating.
I love the puzzle pieces, but I wish the actual lock screen would be better if there was more specific swipe requirements.
Maybe we can find someone who knows more about the system and figure out what's causing the light up and get it changed/removed.
It just doesn't get along very well with things like NoLED, it takes up to a minute for the app to initialize. and seems the delay is solely caused by the screen light up.
This is how it is supposed to work, guys.

Odd screen blur in browser

I get this randomly and I'm damned if I can't get a screen shot of it. But every once in a while when changing screens in the browser more so on things like XDA forum. The text goes blurry like it zooms a bit. But it happens so fast and without warning I can't get a screen shot. Also I found while typing in text boxes like xda or Facebook comments the cursed randomly jumps to the start of the post. Causing you to type over the first words in post. Anyone else have these?
I've noticed the first issue on mine. It appears when I scroll a website that has some funky flash in it (like an advert or something). It fuzzes the text for less than a second.
Do you have a dock? If so, the second issue could be that you brushed the touchpad while typing. If not, then I have no idea.
I have noticed that the browser acts funny until a webpage is fully loaded. Then it behaves well. And some pages can look fully loaded but there could be one section (like an add or image) that is not yet complete.
yeah i think it's an ics thing, i doubt it a glitch but it is much better then checkerboard

[Q] Anyone ever get ghost hits on the screen?

***Nevermind This post. I figured out why this is happening. It was becuase 'use vertical swip to change to symbols' was ticked and apparently just a micron swipe is trigging this on my phone, i type too fast for this option, Turning it off has seemed to fix my problem.****
This is a wierd topic i'm sure, I'm wondering if anyone else ever gets ghost hits on their screen when typing with the on screen keyboard.
I use the regular built in keyboard, no custom rom, no root, nothing, and it seems like 1 out of every 3 or 4 messages i'm typing my keyboard will randomly switch to the symbols, its annoying as hell and I cant figure it out.
You might think "He's probably hitting the key while typing" but its in the lower left corner, and sometimes it will happen when my left hand isn't even typing, i'll be going to hit the I key with my right thumb and BAM i'm in symbols now... I dont know if its exactly the same key every time I cant seem to quite reproduce the problem, it just randomly happens and its irritating.
I'm wondering if there could be some kind of link to the screen protector causing this or not? It's a clearvue screen protector.. I've also noticed when playing around with the screen, that sometimes I can get my fingre sooo close that it actually detects a response, and my finger hasn't even touched the screen yet! IS there some sensitivity thing i can adjust or something? cuz i dont know whats up with this wierdness...
Anyone else?

[Q] Youtube app issue

The clichés of asking for help in a forum as your first post. Oh joy. Either way, this isn't a huge problem for me, but if anyone knows how to fix it, I would be ecstatic.
When in in youtube full screen, it is exactly that, full screen, but, seemingly randomly, I get my notification bar that appears on screen along with the home buttons, and until I force close the app, they won't go away and take up screen space during a video. Any fix for this or am I missing something as to why it's happening?
Attached pictures show immersive and what happens after.
Phone is stock LG g2.

Question Button to rotate screen when auto-rotate isn't on is gone?

I feel like I'm going crazy trying to find evidence that anyone else knows what I'm talking about.
When I first got my Pixel 6 in November, if I had auto-rotate turned off, and turned my screen, a little circular button would show in a corner and I could tap it to make the screen rotate. It was really handy, because I never turn auto-rotate on, so in the rare occasions when I did want to rotate my screen, I could make it rotate quickly.
I've noticed it's gone though. Is there a setting tied to this that maybe I turned off on accident? Was it removed entirely? Could it be gone because I'm rooted? Please let me know. Thanks!
Edit: Nevermind. This is apparently tied to the navigation bar, which I hid because I use third-party nav. Very sad :- (
my buddy got the same problem, dont know whats going on. works for me though
