So I wanted to see peoples reaction to porting android to a Xbox or wii ? I have been contemplating putting some time and money into porting a rom for the wii I think it would be really crazy! I managed to get the android live disc running on my modded Xbox but no controls yet. Would anyone be interested in a rom for the wii if I get it working? Let me now!

The Wii would be helped by the fact that it has a massive Linux porting community. Check out Whiite Linux. Sadly, they barely have X Window running on most implementations.
On that matter, most of the android functionality is already there, it's a matter of looking pretty. Short Of Angry Birds, they've beat you to it in a lot of ways. They've got apps and even an appstore called the Homebrew Browser. Everything is very slow, but what can you expect from it? Yes, most of the good stuff is running by putting Devkit Pro on top of a weak linux, so some improvement could be had. It's not android, but it does the same things.
So far as the 360 goes, if you could put an indie game out with an intentional bug that lets you run Androidx86 off a thumb drive, you could use the Kinect to emulate touch screen. USB keyboard is available to fill in the rest.

It'd be great, but considering that the Wii is running on 2001 State Of The Art, I doubt it will be able to handle much without the official devkit (Which is illegal unless you are a major label dev). Also, everything has to be put into a binary to load, so even Whiite is being done a convoluted way. I have a bit of knowledge of running homebrew on Wii, so I can get you any info or testing you need.
Start with Froyo. Honeycomb won't happen. Maybe Ice Cream Sandwich, but not Honeycomb, for this type of project, you'll NEED kernel source.
I'd be willing to test on Wii or 360. Sounds awesome.
Wow! Right up my street. My two favs mashed together. So INTERESTED! I'm new to the 'DEV', but addicted, and learning at lightspeed. Xboxs ready and waiting 2 serve! Xbox nandroid would revolutionize the world. It would be one of the most popular PCs ever, not to mention cheap.

Found A Way
Okay, so i was doing some searching and i found something called android-x86
(wwwDOTandroid-x86DOTorg) and they have full source code for a x86/PPC version of android, gingerbread currently. which is good because of the wii which has a PPC prossesor. If you do some editing im sure someone can make android for wii.
I'd be willing to test either system android TV would be cool if we could figure that out .. wii or 360 would be excellent to have android os on it I'm thinking wii would be easy for everyone to use since its so easy to mod and the hbc delivers downloads for everyone

I hate to be cynical here, but the Wii only has 88mb of ram. I dont know if thats enough to run Android. Not to mention that Android was written for the ARM platform and the Wii is PPC.

I decided to grab this today, seeing a few comments about some Nexus S users saying it works fine. It's only $5, so what have I got to lose.
It seems to crash after the title screen, phones goes all black screen and stops. Anyone else have any luck? I'm running CM7.1 with the Trinity 1.44GHz kernel. I'm going to try different rom and kernels this evening.
I'm interested in this too. We may have to use chainfire 3d?
How do you buy it if your device is incompatible?

I sent an email to Rockstargames NY explaining the situation with FC on the Nexus S. I will let you guys know as soon as I receive a response. I would imagine it would be hard to optimise applications for every different hardware/software combination but I am pretty disappointed in RS that they didn't think to test on the NS considering it's a dev phone.
Like someone previously stated, at the time of my download there is no mention of compatibility with any specific handset so I assumed it would work. I'd say this will be fixed soon, so I won't be after a refund (happy to wait!) but hopefully they respond quickly.
Real nice on my atrix, got it working with sixaxis but the controls arent mapped so will have to work it out by trial and error. Get in/out of car is F and the analogue sticks work out of the box, hopefully someone will work it out and post a list
I bought it this morning and it runs great. I'm on a Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 running galaxy task v8 and pershoots kernel oc'd to 1.4GHz. It has occasional lag but its lag that existed on the ps2. Overall I'm happy and it was £3 well spent.

Was just saying to myself the other day how my ns could last be with me for years to come. But being able to play this game would easily make it worth upgrading. Anyone know how the hardware compares to ps2? I would imagine it to be about the same or a little better...

As long as you are using a non-Samsung ROM/kernel, the wiimote should pair just fine. You will have to download an IME app for it from the market though. I can't remember what the app was that I used. Search for wiimote and that should get you what you need.
I had it running back in the days when GB roms on the vibrant were being released here. Made playing Mario 64 a lot easier than with the on screen virtual buttons

Last I checked it lacks Hardware acceleration though so beware. If you are to try to play any video that is 480p or higher it probably won't play.
For example if you try to show the videos you just took with your phone in the big screen (like I had tried) it won't work, so you can say it's a bit crippled version of TV-out. If you want true TV-out you have to try Froyo derived roms ... sadly.

Nook Tablet Ti omap4 identicle to Nvidia2 "LETS GET THIS DEVELOPMENT MOTHA STARTED!"
Yes thats right we can develop beyond using the Kindle fire and I just cant believe we havent. The OMAP4 is almost exacly the same as the Nvidia Tegra2. lets take for example the galaxy tab with Nvidia tegra2 AND THE GALAXY TAB 2 with Ti Omap.4030. the only difference is the omap beat the tegra chip in graphics by a hair and it can run 3d where the tegra cannot.
just do the math and due diligence and I will gladly be a tester in this.

Ok, they're both dual-core processors from 2011 but that's where the similarities end. They have totally different architectures with the Nook having it's ducati cores. Honestly, if you feel like you can tell people what to do at least know what you're talking about.

OK here is what I have been trying to tell you since your to smart to read between the lines. None and I mean none of the Roms and kernels for this tablet work. I have tried them all. Slow, games unplayable, force closing, locking up,no netflix you name it
I went back to complete stock and rooted and man what a speed demon and games like shadowgun and gta 3 now actually have the controls on the screen and other games that just fc. Work now.
Here it is
Other than the brilliant way of rooting using an sd card and also some other things like changing keyboards and side loading
The development for this tablet is not working, bad, dead and simply sorry.
Sorry

You have tried CM7 right?
As for it being laggy, everything basically since stock has had some sort of hw video deciding or hw accel problem. Some of them have been fixed like CM7 but a lot of others haven't. This can be attributed to the 3.0 kernel not being done. Rather than focus on fixing an old outdated 2.6 kernel they are focusing on getting everything to work on the 3.0 kernel and they've made great progress. In fact Rebellos said that it was a matter of days until hw video/accel worked.
All I can say is that maybe the expectations are a little too high.

Or that the intent all along has been to attempt to rile the masses by being inflammatory.....I do find it odd that someone that has stated they have been around since the treo 300 has only made 124 posts - that doesn't sound contributory and since my only experience has been to see the recent comments I am left to wonder what the actual contributions have been....there are several people whose comments I eagerly open, and I have one, now, that is in the pointless category....

If you are SO much smarter than all of us and by some miracle have figured out something that we haven't, than why haven't you done something about it instead of yelling at people to try and get them to do it for you? Easy answer: you haven't found anything.
This last January was the first time I flashed a ROM. Yet here I am about 6 months later and I've been a successful project leader of a Google Now port for ICS. If I can do that and I'm only a young 15 y/o Dev, why cant you with all your "experience" do ANYTHING helpful here at all?
Oh wait, you can't.

Is the stock software good, or must to upgrade to the 1.7?

Hi,
Haven't tested bluetooth, but I can tell I don't see serious wifi problems. I left my MK802IIIS up for 1+ day and connection remains stable. However, ping times tend to be too high, considering that the device is 1 meter away from the WirelessN router.
On short, keep it near the wifi router and it should be OK.
Yep, there are many ROMs, I read that Finless ROMs would be cool. There are also Linux distros compiled for this stick, though there are some problems(eg wifi don't work). For more Linux infos google for "Pic Untu", "Linux on mk0802iiis" and "Ubuntu on mk802iiis".
One thing I noticed: after a couple of hours of continous desktop usage (installing from Google PlayStore, browsing, surfing through all Settings, and so on), the device tends to become very warm (almost hot). However, I haven't witnessed (yet) any device stability problems connected with its temperature.
