I've been trying to upgrade my 16GB NT to CM9 with limited success. Somehow the nightly builds just kept boot looping on the NT. I have gotten a solid release of my HP Touchpad. I got hold of the alpha CM9 0.05.1 version and finally got a good install which booted completely and worked OK except for the video acceleration causing Netflix and YouTube to give blank screens.
So I tried to go back to old root which had both B&N and ADW launched. I tried several methods which looked successful while I was using the CMW zip installs but they all resulted in a reboot into CM9 alpha. I have found a method to get me back to B&N/ADW (Veronica's Ribbon Root download link HERE) but I also stumbled on an SD card version of CM7 alpha final image from TEAM-B which worked great!
Well, I wanted an internal install version so I wouldn't be tied to the SD card boot and found TEAM-B's BETA version dated 20120713 for the CM (aka acclaim). I been working on it for several hours and many apps. This beast is really good. See the thred here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481826.
Thanks TEAM-B for a really solid platform.
Testing update
Everything works as expected.
Netflix and YouTube work.
Email works.
The browser works really great. Much better than it did under ADW.
The Play Store is great as always.
The default music player works well. I also have tried Real Player Beta which also works well. My only complaint is fixing 'unknown artist' where I can't find a way to edit the artist name.
For your own downloaded videos, the default video player is great. I've also tried MxPlayer which also works well.
A really neat feature is the USB drive setting. If you have the device connected to your PC via USB, it doesn't automatically lock your device out. You need to select the up arrow in the circle on the status items (4th from the left), then select 'USB connected', and hit the 'Turn on USB storage' to get the drives visible to your PC (I'm running Windows 7 64 bit).
My VOIP app does not work since it has a problem getting the microphone active. The puzzling thing to me is that the Sound Recorder works. So it's not really the microphone per se.
Under the > Settings > Location & security settings > Change screen lock, you can set a lock code similar to the 4 digit code under B&N. You can also do an alpha numeric password instead of a simple 4 digit number if you'd like. However since you may need to enter it often whenever the timeout hits, I'd suggest keeping it simple.
I've not been able to break it yet.
It is rock solid. Anyone game for the challenge of finding a bug?

The only issue that I still see on occasion is the wifi will dropout then come right back after a few seconds. I have seen this on multiple networks and multiple streaming apps. hbogo, netflix, ustream. Does anyone else see this. Maybe everything didn't clear when I installed new rom?

But yes, ITA it's been very stable overall and a great job from Team B, especially with fixing hardware acceleration. Thanks again!

I decided to make a thread for kaos that gives a more complete set of incomplete/broken things so he doesn't half to. I will try to keep this up to date as possible and if you see something that has been fixed that i have listed as broken please post and I will correct it. I will try to do as many detailed things as possible for now and as things are fixed I will remove them and if a fix is required to be applied manually will try to include it also. Keep in mind this is an unofficial thread and I am not responsible for anything you do to your phone. Now to the list (PS if this is an inappropriate posting area feel free to move it)
Data: FIXED entirely update to latest build
Wifi: FIXED update to latest build.
Bluetooth: Somewhat working, will pair but won't connect.
Browser: UPDATE: fixed, still crashes on flash and javascript some though according to people in irc.
USB notification: no usb mount notification not sure if USB mass storage will work or not but adb still works so a work around is using the commands adb push and adb pull (google on how to use these commands if you dont know already)
Vibrate notifications: vibrate works on the stock messaging app fine but I can't get it working on go sms. Workaround would be just use the stock notifications.
Quadrant: quadrant doesnt work for me gets stuck at database writes, not a big deal no known fix though
Sensors: FIXED update to latest build
Headphone jack: Headphone jack is now fixed somewhat. Still buggy to a degree some headphones won't work (it seems to only work for headphones that have a mic built in for me but it could be just hit and miss with all headphones).
Haptic feedback: haptic feedback in general doesn't work. No known fix
Camera: Currently not working. No known fix.
Cyanogen Settings has some things that make the phone freeze, DO NOT ENABLE JIT its not working yet.
Recovery: Currently broken for me and some other people. Not sure if its working for others (kaos's works and has been apparently.) JT said it shouldn't be a hard fix for him in the future (likely next release?) Use odin to get back to stock and restore your backup from before you had CM installed if you made one if you want. (report any problems in thread please) UPDATE: Greyone and Kaos informed me that recovery works if you go to recovery mode and select advanced > reboot recovery (thanks!)
Wireless tethering:Works if you use the Wireless tether app! fix found by ae55. Might work with other wireless tether applications but it WILL NOT work with the wireless tether in the settings menu.
USB tethering: Not working for me (try it and post if it works for you, its in settings, wireless and networks) more than likely a 3rd party app like easy tether would fix this as long as your 3g is working
MMS: MMS also does not currently work. A workaround is to simply get the message sent to your email for receiving but it seems that the sending of gmail messages isnt working atm i just did a test message to my number and it is sitting in my outbox. Been there for a good bit so its more than likely not sending it. A 3rd party application could fix this possibly? Update: Message finally went through it took a solid 15-20min though so I wouldn't rely on it myself. Again, 3rd party app would prob be your best bet around this. IT DOES NOTIFY YOU IF YOU RECEIVE AN MMS JUST WONT DOWNLOAD IT!
ADW launcher app drawer: not really a bug just many users have looked for this and cant find it, its pretty simple to fix just longpress on the homescreen and tap custom shortcuts then the adw launcher things then app drawer. Hope this clears some things up.
YOUTUBE: seems as though the youtube application isnt playing videos, I dont have good enough service to test it but I will take everyone in the threads word for it. Other video playback apps seem to be having trouble too.
Pandora: Currently my pandora isnt working, could just be me but i think its a problem with the 3g still.
Thats all that I can find for now that isn't working but its likely I missed something, I more than stress to keep in mind Kaosinate is still a VERY alpha build. Its about a 50-50 split between things working and things not working for now but it is coming along thanks to Kaos' work on it and I invite everyone to follow him on twitter and join IRC for the MOST up to date information about this ROM.
Edit: Nevermind. Haven't checked his tweets (well, his reply tweets). Good write up.

The latest Swype beta works wonderfully in Kaosinate v2.
There is an extra step you have to perform to get it working.
Download and install the swype installer from your beta.swype.com page. Install swype. It will force close when trying to configure swype after the install or generate a license.
Delete the libSwype.co from system/lib/. Then reinstall swype and voila! You will have a fully working, fully up to date, swype keyboard.

Throughout the forums there seem to be fairly conflicting reports about CM7 for the Touchpad, it crashes a lot, it mostly works, lots of apps don't work, most common apps do work.
Basically, how reliable is CM7?
I don't use too many apps, so for me it would mainly be for:
- Browser
- Gmail
- Google Docs
- Facebook
- Twitter
- Spotify
- Swiftkey (does the tablet version work?)
Oh, and the official Touchpad Bluetooth Keyboard.
Would I get a good experience out of the current build?
Some answers after 5 days using CM:
-in my case, no SOD, but it seems to vary
- dolphin hd (browser) works nicely
- SwiftKey x tablet also good
- 2 random reboots in 5 days
- facebook ok if you use fake gps to Set up your location (otherwise it crashes)

One of the most stable "alphas" I've seen, more of a beta. Running Alpha2, a couple times a day I might have to cycle Airplane mode to get wifi back. This seems more frequent if hopping multiple APs. A couple apps you listed have issues;
- Google Docs - current version FCs, had to sideload old version 1.0.4r (search the forum, there are discussions on this)
- Facebook - FCs unless you run a fake gps app first
This morning I had to power cycle it to get touchscreen back, but even so I feel no urge to reboot into WebOS.

Everything except wifi is fairly reliable. I only have secured networks, so wifi constantly crashes for me. I'd wait for the next release if it was important to you.

As for me,
1. Market sometimes FC when installing (not a big deal)
2. Wifi drops occasionally and need manual reconnecting
3. Battery drain during sleep, at the rate of around 2 to 3% per hour
4. Scrolling a bit jerky for a dual core 1.5GHz device
5. Facebook FC without FakeGPS
Otherwise everything is working so far. But then I haven't tested everything.

I only got mine last night and got CM7 loaded within minutes of opening it. I had some problems with wireless until I switched mine to channel 6 from channel 11. It ran solid as a rock for a few hours until I shut it down for the night.
Renders all my various size and density photos (all JPG) quickly and very crisply.
Netflix ran good.
Youtube was okay.
My mp4s encoded for my Nook Color were all messed up (played but video was whacky, striped accross the screen, these play great on webOS)
Plays my MP3 without issue (need to move my album art over from my Nook Color)
Quadrant scores are pretty low (low 2000's) only due to the FPS graphics not being optimized (GPU acceleration probably is not finished.)

Browser is meh. But 3rd party Opera is fantastic. Nearly as smooth as safari on ipad.
Gmail is fantastic.
Google Docs is great.
Facebook sucks if you don't install a fakegps app or the older 1.5.2 apk that didn't need GPS.
Twitter's great..
Thats all I know. But I do know that the camera doesn't work (on EITHER of my CM Touchpads) and that each of mine have also had a random shutdown and refused to wake up (without me long pressing the power/home buttons repeatedly)... but that being said... very sweet stable for an Alpha. In fact, I think it's more stable than my phone, also on CM. And more importantly, it's better than WebOS if only for the app selection.
Compared to web os its 100% better some bugs but I haven't booted into web os since the first alpha.

have SOD's despite the fact that i've tried every work around i could find... actually the last one was probably due to the fact that the work around drained the battery... between that and the wifi i've pretty much given up on it until a more stable for me release. it is in very good shape though. i liked having a netflix tablet for a bit. wish HP had made it 16:9 but oh well.
anyway since you can dual boot i really dont' see any reason for people not to put it on there. Pulse newsreader is so damn cool on a tablet

Just installed yesterday and very impressed for an alpha build. Only get FCs for market and Facebook but realised that i need the fake gps. Did have to reboot the first time as apps wouldn't install saying i had no space. On the whole i like it and especially adobe reader as its miles more quicker and better quality than the WebOS version. But i do miss the WebOS interface so i can see what apps i'm running and throwing the cards away to close the app.
When I load up spotify, it is constantly on "offline" mode even though I have a full working connection. anyone else with this problem on the Prime?

Issues here also
Took me removing clearing data and force stopping three time after that started to work. It probably doesn't help that it has not been updated since November 14, 2011.
Too many playlists
I have recently ran across a known issue in that I had too many playlists.
I don't know how many are too many, but some 200-something.
I removed some playlists but also had to completely clear out the app cache and reinstall it before it started working again.
Same issue on the Nexus S as well.
/G
I have Spotify Premium.
I've upgraded to ICS, and Installed Spotify. I'm using Spotify across 4 different platforms. It's always in Offline mode, it'll try and connect and then back to offline mode. I'm not sure what the problem is but, I wish It worked, I'm thinking about giving up Spotifiy in favor of just downloading my music again. lol.
Another annoying problem I've had with Spotify on the Prime is when I add a track to a playlist after about 15 seconds it abruptly closes Spotify. Major PITA!
odd, it works on my CM9 alpha Captivate with 4.0.3 fine. Just not on the Prime. Could be a Tegra3 thing.
Yo, peeps.
So I had this problem too on my S-Off, rooted, stock gingerbread Flyer. Eventhough it's Gingerbread, it also has that problem, so i Google'd around a bit, since it's annoying as hell.
Dunno where I read it but someone said that you should clear cache > uncheck all offline playlists > logout > (optional: change spotify folder) > login and it should work. Well... it did for a while. Then it hopped back into its offline mode.
The problem is/was that you should clear cache, uncheck all offline playlists and keep them unchecked. After I re-did all those steps and quit making offline playlists, Spotify remained online. I'm not sure if this works for every tablet and/or ICS, but I heard that it worked on the Xoom (the forum where I found the solution was about the Xoom) and it works on my Flyer.
So you can't use offline playlists, but atleast spotify will keep working (assuming they haven't fixed it yet).
I hope it works for you aswell.
Also, does the Prime have the same Spotify interface as phones? I recently upgraded to Honeycomb... and on my Flyer it still has that oversized phone interface...
Seems like the phone interface is it. Just gets stretched for the device.

Too bad =\
But did the uncheck offline playlist thing work for you?
i never put anything for offline use. Either way, it just always says "OFFLINE MODE" at the top even when connected.
Im hoping as more ICS and T3 devices roll out they update it.
It looks like what you need to do is :
-log out of the program
-force stop it
-open it back up
-log in and it should work.

Yea, Spotify just updated the iOS app pretty awesomely. Last update for android, Nov 11. Rdio released an ICS upgrade that includes tablets.
I've tried ALL custom ROMs for Titan and also tried up to the latest Tango build of stock.
One key difference I've noticed is even though all the homebrew goodness and customisation are plus points with custom ROMs, those extra features do not make up for the stability we get with stock ROM.
I was put into a few embarrassing situations using custom ROMs when I've tried to show off extra features I had on my phone! Whereas things as simple as "I can't share by bluetooth, but let me share the whole folder with you over SkyDrive" - has worked smooth like butter on stock ROM!
Still craving few excellent features like screenshots app and bazaar when I rolled back to stock ROM this week. However, not a single random behaviour, no wifi issues, no battery issues etc.
Has anyone else found their experience more pleasurable on stock than current available custom ROMs? Of course, not functionality wise as all custom ROMs being unlocked unleash a great amount of functions.
I'm on Dynamics7 atm.
So far, the phone does sometimes not respond to touch input unless I press the power button to put it into lockscreen and unlock - this however happens rarely. That's also about any issue I'm having with the phone, except for the still annoying HTC Update notification that springs up every time I connect it to Zune.
Wi-Fi and battery are both no areas of problems for me.
+1 on the OP. One thing that stands out for me is not able to save / download music from Spotify for offline listening I've a premium account and this is my main music source. I tried it all the custom roms without success. ATM I'm sticking with custom rom, currently using eburon v1.6, because of I like the ability to sideload xaps from phone browser.

Hm, I couldn't tell so. It works fine other than the issue I mentioned above, lockWidgets not working, the MMS voice message recording option producing white noise and the geolocation icon not showing.
However, I also did some registry changes, for instance I reverted the dehydration settings to the stock value - maybe this setting causes other issues aside from a higher power consumption for some?
For me it is the complete opposite. Although I don't use the Spotify nor do I share files via bluetooth (which you couldn't do on stock), I have not experienced any issues outside of the annoying HTC update when connect to Zune.
In fact, on stock, I experienced scroll lag issues, video streaming issues, phone randomly locking up for 5 - 10 sec, prisoned by AT&T and etc. I am using Dynamics 1.7 ROM since July 3rd. Everything works as it should and very smoothly. I will try the Spotify app to see if I have any issues (but I'm s Zune subscriber don't really need it).
I'm sure you've tried, but if not, maybe try a re-flash or even re-download, then re-flash.

yup, tried that without success... I'm starting to think that this some kind of anti piracy thing that spotify put in place mainly with windows phone because with my rooted ios and android devices I can still download songs for offline listening.

It could well be correct. But then so far out of all custom ROMs I've tried the latest WPV v3.1 seems to have corrected all the flaws. It works as smooth as stock but with all the homebrew goodies that fill the gaps. I have Zune pass and it doesn't have any issues even on unlocked ROMs. If it had something to do with piracy i.e. unlocked ROM, I would have thought Zune pass will be the first one to act weird. But then again, all Spotify and Zune should care about is DRM content. They surely aren't bothered or won't check state of interop etc.
Just got one to play with. and so far feeling ok with it..
But..
Why would you go and make the "Back, Home, Resent apps" buttons that are core to Android not be there?
Anyway, I got a feeling its only going to be an edit of a system file and we should be able to get them back working..
Its running JB 4.1.2
Anyone got any idea's how I can go about doing this?
As I am using team EOS 4 on the TF101, with thier nice way of having seperate EOS ability to edit the size, postion of these buttons in question..
Is is fesiable for me to grab the EOS apk and move it into this Rom an see if it works?
I am also thinking that something like LMK might be able to work too, but would have to be worked via mouse inputs not touch..
Any pointers in the right direction would be great thanks..
Also, I will use this thread ed as a bit of a collection of handy hints for these box's as I am sure they are going to up there in the development circle once they become a bit more available to the masses..

I know there are many posts about this but it took me a while to understand how it works and there is no single thread which has the information gathered in the first post, so I decided to make this. Sorry if it uneeded.
Anyone who want's to use on screen NavBar buttons, he's lucky! (at least compared to ICS).
Now, by adding in
the line
you get the navigation bar (after reboot) and at the same time Android system recognizes this and adds the three dot menu icon whenever needed*!
If you want to disable the hardware keys, edit the file
These are the three hardware buttons
Add a # before any you don't wan't to use any more. I did for 158 and 139 and left my Home button working.
There is a mod** (flash it in recovery) which makes the bar almost half the size. It's better looking and less space is wasted but it does get some time to get used to it and you might need a couple of tries sometimes when trying to hit those buttons.
*This wasn't the case for ICS.

NO LAG or RE-DRAWS.... and Google Play store is not sticky anymore.. Mind you it shouldn't be on a dual core device.
Also as a note I am running Livewall papers in the background "Ocean HD" so this is taking up 15mb of Ram..

Haven't had much time to put it through its paces as been travelling for work.
But here are some thoughts on it so far..
I have just upgraded to "update_Mygica_20130314.img"
http://up.stdvr.com/mygica/android/A...a_20130314.img
Like the new bigger pointer for the mouse, also it seems to have brought back the remote controls as I had lost those but I still have to manually turn it off.
I swap out the Chinese launcher with Apex launcher - Apex runs nicely and can back up all the settings and screens so are happy with this.
Speeds and Kernel controls :
As pretty much the same as the M1-M3 box's - until we have developers that are hacking these to suit our needs we are locked in the the Geniatech/MyGicia/Privos setting's - Which I hope in the not to distant future we get some of the phone/Tablet kernel guru's turning up and opening these kernels up for us to adjust the speeds in which these can run.
Using CPU Master I am able to get it to run @ 1540 after boot but the settings don't stick and from the readings I have done this is in the way they have setup the Init.d..
What is Init.d?

How I do it -XBMC-addons
As I seem to be installing multi-able versions of XMBC and or firmware upgrades, I have now got a set pattern in which I can reset most of my fav addons back up.. it maybe a little long winded for some but works for me as I find that I lose addons if I don't keep track of them thus I have them saved to a NAS drive. I access them via this method to re-setup.
1: Load the NAS directory up using CIF manager.
2: In XBMC -Go in to "System-Addons-install from zip
3: Go in to "Root file system" then "mnt" then 'cifs' then a 'XBMC' directory where I keep a backup of all my depositories that I use. ( over the last 12 months I have collected a nice bunch of them from around the traps)
Remotes:
Droidmote : I had it going the first time I set the box up in a hotel room using my Asus portable wifi router and had the accelerometer working nicely on a few games. but since I have been back to my home network I have not been able to get it to work - just tested it with that modem again and its not working, so i would say the uniput needs to be loaded up via a script again. Will play with it when get time.

Also been playing with this one.. but cant seem to get it to work.. got the server side apk but as yet, I am not sure if it will only go with the A8 but I have read somewhere that others have had it going but not sure on what hardware.
I got a feeling that you have to have the bubblepnp going then this may work in with this server and remote.
just haven't had enough time to play.

As I am here in the middle kingdom- I have to have things to entertain the guests so found this bundle - I am not sure how many will work outside of China but some are actually pretty good once you get the hang of how to use them. Doesn't seem to get hot so thats not it as I have a USB laptop fan under it, seems to be when I change out to another input on the TV and or I leave it idle for some time, kinda goes in to sleep and not come out it.. got to reboot.
Another thing on the lastest MyGica roms is the lack of Home' 'Back' 'Search' 'Back' 'Recent Task' 'Menu' buttons.

http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/androi...130326.zip
Downlload and don't unzip, copy to SD card or USB disk, connect to the box and run upgrade->local update, select the SPI file to update first, after finished, it will restart the box, then, do the same steps to update the firmware, and XBMC is still xbmcapp-armeabi-v7a-debug-20130223.apk.
Above is a new firmware for Geniatech's dual core box, it fixed 4:3/16:9 aspect ratio and android bar problems of XBMC.

Upgraded to this one today.. Working smoothly.
Haven't had time to play with XBMC builds on it but was streaming off PPTV most of the day..
Not sure if it was the box or the network.. Seemed to encounter the ethernet problem after about 2 hours where the stream was caught up.
Switched out to wifi and ran the same stream for a while.. Then switched back to ethernet and no problems.. Maybe a net problem and or that old bug is still hanging round..
Overall zippy as hell but I am also running the Seeder app to keep the Random Entropy up to 4096.
We can clock up to 1512mhz and change out to performance governor but min seems to be locked in at 48mhz which seems a bit low.
But with that being said.. It shows that it actually sits down between 72mhz & 336mhz on low loads.
Navigation buttons are back plus a new screen shot one..
I also noticed in settings there is a new EASYLINK option.. Maybe some like a new remote control app or airplay?
Anyone got info on it?

has anybody used the component out on a mygica atv1200? i swear the blue and green are reversed. i've tried 2 sets of cables. i hooked from mygica to computer and tv. both will not display until i put blue cable in green and green in blue on the mygica box.. and obviously when i do this it messes up the colors. has anyone else noticed this? i tried taking out the hdmi as well and got the same results. i'd love it if someone could confirm i'm either right, or i simply have a bad box. thanks. i've also tried with different firmwares. including the 3/26. i'm now on 1/15.
Did anybody try that DroidMote server. I think I have problem with that uinput. I've downloaded it and made som changes with terminal emulator following instructions, still no moves... Please advice...
make sure it is rooted and goto the system folder and edit build.prop and add a line of code on a new line at the bottom:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
and reboot the device to get those buttons.

Works out of the box for me..
One thing I do is test the network I am on..
i.e test it with my TF-001 to make sure its working, then test it on the ATV1200.
As my other box I had to do some mods on it to get it to work..
but overall works great.. play a few games with it..

Thanks for answer. It works nice on the new firmware!
Another question. I faced to weird shutdowns during normal operation (browsing, video playing). It happens very frequently and I did everything, updated firmware, did several resets - no success. Any suggestions what it might be?
ADD
I found that it was not device issue but my TV set... It works smoothly on my neighbour's TV. If I could only know that they'll be incompatible... TV Firmware update - no success. Buying new TV for my box is ridiculous

Bear' before I reply I need to check my setup again to see what is what..
Just shifted cities here in China so its been a big few weeks..
I have got the box working into the Synology NAS and it is working without me playing with the CIFs setup.
But I have used the Networking program that came with the firmware and set it to auto mount the video and TV folders on the NAS.
I also need to find some time to setup XBMC again due to this new update.
And also test the new internet connection I have got..

I am getting a Green light on the box and it won't respond anymore. This happens when I leave it sit for a while. Any help? Seems to be some kind of sleep or standby, but it won't wake from it unless I unplug it and then plug it back in.
