hi there,
this morning (12/7/11) just got new software update/security available for my wi-fi bestbuy version, California here by the way, already got my november update last week, total noob here, will this be safe update for future S-off with globaltron HC method, still reading and learning thru instruction. thanks.
Perhaps this is to get our US Flyers prepped for the HC OTA Update...???...
From what someone else wrote in the other thread, you run the risk of locking your tablet by doing that. I just updated my tab to HC using glob's method yesterday. If you need help, lemme know I can walk you through it.
Edit: I'm sorry I misunderstand your post. If you update using glob's method and then do official HTC updates, then you run the risk of locking.
Although glob did an excellent job in his tutorial, I think there are some details left out that would leave us noobs confused. Let me know if you need help
Thanks guys
I don't know about anybody else, but I was pretty pumped to see a software update, and then pretty bummed to boot into GB. Oh well...hopefully it is a step closer.
Hi all!
I just got my Verizon Note II back from MobileTechVideos and I need to prevent ANY OTA updates from going back on my phone. My Phone is at Version VRALJB right now and I want to root it, prevent the OTA updates and install a custom ROM on it. I don't want to turn this on until I know how to do it.
Can anyone give me some help here PLEASE? I did a search and there's too many for me to figure out which is the correct/best method.
Thanks
In addition to the above, here's my goals
Root
Install a simple, fast, unbloated custom ROM, (suggestions for a ROM that fits this description would be greatly appreciated!)
STOP all OTA updates!
Install all my old apps and get this phone back on line and tell Verizon to F**K off forever!
STOP all OTA updates!
Smile and enjoy my Note II. I really love this phone and I don't want them screwing with it.
STOP ALL OTA UPDATES!!
PS If anyone needs any kind of service, like removing the OTA updates and returning it to a version that can be rooted and custom ROM's, Josh at MOBILE TECH VIDEOS is THE place to get it done! Very fast service and I got it back in two days!!! WOW!!
Any help will be greatly appreciated and I will make a donation to whoever can help me get this done ASAP as I am afraid to put it back on the air and have it try and update!!
Thanks

I'm seeing reports that AT&T is rolling out the Android 12 update today which fixes the fingerprint bug. If possible, could someone capture the OTA update and share for those of us who our outside of the US and/or not using AT&T?
I'm on Cricket Wireless and desperate to jump to Android 12.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
