Changing default gallery - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Is there a way to change the default gallery app so the default one doesn't open from the camera every time? When I disable the stock gallery app the camera force closes when you go to view pics. Pretty lame because the stock app lags like ****.

Bump. I can't be the only one who wants this

use a different camera app as well. the stock one is samsung and preview button is auto linked to samsung gallery

Self portraits with front camera question

I noticed that the front camera inverts images when taking still photos (like looking in a mirror, text is screwed up). Is there an option to change this in the camera settings that I overlooked?

i 4 dont using the wierd app, why its slow, is due to many pictures that should be loaded with motin sensor and some background picture of gallery, to much loading at same time's do often make it slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

Question about the gallery.

In the gallery, when I tilt the phone, the thumbnails tilt with it making it very difficult to select the desired picture.
I managed to disable this in the app drawer when moving an app around but I can't find a way to disable it in the gallery.

[Q] Camera app start in android jb

My question is very short is it possible to prevent camera app to start automatically rotating into landscape with just the icons adjusting to portrait/landscape view? I find this real annoying because not just the pop ups are always in landscape but also it does not start or close smoothly and by the way it looks ugly;
so is it be possible to make the camera start as other apps in that mode I actually hold my phone?

Try this.
Good idea, but does not change anything because what i asked for is a change in the camera app itself will make a video later to show what i mean but nevertheless thanks for the link

Themer can't open camera.

Every theme I select clicking the camera button opens the Gallery.
If in go in and manually change the default app to camera from Themer Camera it still opens the gallery.
Ideas?
I ended up clearing it again and having it default to Focal and it loads Focal fine. I'll use that in the mean time.

What theme are you using? Or is this with every theme?

I've a weird issue. If i open camera app from Themer shortcut and take pictures they don't get saved. Don't if it is just me or for anybody else too.

Every theme.
When I select "camera" from default apps the icon in the app screen is the gallery icon.

Same here... Annoying, hope someone has an answer.
Happened with me as well.
When I had just applied my very first theme, I clicked on the camera icon, it gave me 3 options and asked which one to set as default:
1) Camera
2) Camera
3) Camera 360.
If you look closely, options 1 & 2 are the same.
I picked option number 1) Camera, and now the camera icon always opens the Gallery, rather than opening camera. Its happening on all the themes.
I went to apps --> Themer and 'cleared defaults' , and yet the issue persists.

That probably explains it. I imagine that Themer is more likely to work with CM than with PA.
Wish I had a better answer. Sorry

Hi, I am using Galaxy Nexus on pure stock version. Still facing the same issue (I had mentioned in my earlier comment)
Same issue on Evo 3D running cm10.2

Ahhh! Its because on JB, camera & gallery are in one apk. Gallery2.apk so I'm guessing it defaults it to gallery. Cleared cache & data & defaulted it to focal.
