Stock - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Can someone give me directions on how to return my phone to complete stock, like how it came out of the box when I got it. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Step 1. Smash it.
Step 2. Read forum rules and post in the right section.
Step 3. Call for replacement phone.
Step 4. ????
Step 5. Profit.

faehsemc will work or you can just flash the stock image that is provided on these forum with odin

Just so someone answers this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1755386
That links to a thread containing the stock ROM that comes with your phone. It'll remove root, reinstall bloatware, and put everything back to out-of-the-box.
Just Flash it via Odin and you're set. The only thing that might be different from the original is the custom ROM counter, which is not something that we can alter at this point (requires modded bootloader).

DO NOT POST A THREAD IN DEVELOPMENT UNLESS YOU DEVELOP SOMETHING
I just moved one of the other ones you created. If i see another I will start issuing infractions. Read the stickies and know the rules

I'm developing a headache.

Just want to say, great vids!! Your vids helped me root and put a custom rom on my vibrant weeks ago, with no troubles are anything. Truly Appreciate it!! Thanks for taking the time to make them! =)
This is (from what I've seen and used) the simplest guide to using ODIN to get back to stock firmware. Though you may want to go here to download the most recent version of ODIN (the version linked in the guide is 1.0, the most recent version is 1.7)

The path from stock to Jedi X?

So I've rooted my past two phones and have installed ROMs on them also.. This morning I had it rooted using odin and then tried to get Jedi X on, but screwed up somewhere. Once the download is done I'll use odin and get it back to stock. What do I need to do to get this done properly? I've read a lot but I am still confused..
Thanks in advance for the help.

Okay, so I've read that about getting rooted, and I've made it past that step. When I click where it says "Proceed to Adam Outler's thread for unlocking the bootloader HERE" It says on that thread "You are expected to be STOCK.... Stock anything, but stock." So although it would already be rooted, I can follow those instructions?
unlock and root

If you go to galaxy note 2 root dot com ,Max , the guy who runs the site has detailed instructions and videos to go along with it. His videos are super easy to follow and I've never had a problem with any of my phones or tablets when I followed his guides. Actually I was always to nervous to root my devices until I could actually watch the whole process. Sorry about the site address.

No joke. And just from a quick glance, that was posted in December so I would imagine it is outdated given VRALL.
If you just follow adams thread its super easylike 7min.like it says though must be fully stock and non rooted so it might take you like 15min because it sounds like your rooted already so you just need to get back to stock unrooted then follow the instructions

Okay so if I just read all this correctly, I need to
1. Go to Adams thread and follow the steps there.
2. Root it after.
3. I can then flash a ROM
is this correct?
Edit: Just ran casual, worked like a charm after a few minor issues, thanks for all the help!

frustrated with rooting

I've tried numerous times with numerous methods. Can't seem to get it down. I consider myself pretty tech savvy. Any tips for a noob?
Read the instructions from the developer over and over. Then read it again before doing anything else. Read them several times in their entirety before beginning action. Most issues arise because people think they've read the instructions, but they missed that one key item.
Follow THIS step by step guide, assuming you are bone stock (as the guide states) and you will be golden if you do not skip anything.
I used his CASUAL one-click method (on mac, windows should be easier) and it was my first time rooting. 0 Problems.
Know exactly what version of stock software you have installed on your device. Make sure it lines up with any guide you are following. If you're not sure, ask. Make sure you have a comprehensive understanding of the following concepts before proceeding. If you're confused as to what any of these are, search the forums and google. As a last result, ask. Don't just think you know what these are. Be positive in your knowledge of these terms:
Root
(Locked) Bootloader
Recovery
Rom
Mod
Kernel
Flash/Install
Cache
Dalvik-Cache
Lastly, back up everything, every time. Best laid plans and all that. You can never be too safe.
Good luck
It all depends on whether you're on a Mac or PC. I had tons of problems with my Mac...I finally had to use my wife's work PC. There are also tons of Youtube videos with step by step instructions and links to the software...

Your first noob mistake is posting a question and not giving any details. What version are you on? Baseband? What have you actually tried? There are more than enough people to help guide you in the right direction. But as he said, do read until your eyes hurt. Then go away and when you come back, read some more

I am rooted now. Just working on getting the bootloader unlocked now so I can flash ROMS.

Reset for warranty?

I need to unroot my phone and do whatever else needed to be able to get my note 2 replaced. Some quick google-fu turned up references to doing such a thing, but no tutorial. Anyone have a link to files and instructions ? Stock rom and kernal, just rooted.
Droidstyle's guide. Section 1b, use the vramc3 file and pit in Odin. Then you are good.

Thanks for the help!

Q] How do I flash an update fix.

My first post on this site.
I've installed ArchiDroid V2.3.3. all is fine expect the camera. I've been the hunderds of posts and seen the update camera fix.
My question: How do I install the OmniRom-Fixed_camera_Lib_for_focus_and_flash_V1.1 do i use Odin or philz-recovery, and is there a step by step to update.
Your help will be most appreciated.

Your choice of user name is of concern, I'd suggest you read and follow the available guides on how to use custom recovery to flash zip files.

Thanks,
Believe it or not, but the problem I'm having is that this site is huge and the choice of words that I put into the forum to search bring up hundreds of posts.
Is it not possible for someone to put a link to the guide

You must flash Zip files with Philz... It's too easy, just flash it without any wipe or something
Thanks boomboomer & k2evil.
All sorted.
