Hi all,
I don't know what happened (probably an automatic update?), but when I started my phone today it wouldn't finish the boot process. It was stuck in a loop boot cycle. I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100.
The VolumeUp+Home+Power buttons combination won't get me to the recovery mode. The VolumeDown+Home+Power buttons combination gets me to the odin mode which displays the Downloading... do not turn target off message. A few seconds later the screen starts flickering with white noise, like a badly tuned tv.
That's all I can do. I just want my phone back! Any ideas on what I can do now?
Thanks!!!

Well firsrt off this belongs in the question and answer forum.
But if you can get into download mode, go to www.sammobile.com and download a stock firmware and flash through odin.

Try more times going to recovery. Sometimes it take me dozen times. Vol up , home first and hold power button for 3 sec without letting home vol up. If nothing changes maybe try flashing new rom from odin mode.

No go with download mode? Buy a USB Jig and hope it kicks you into download mode. If not, JTAG might be your option, but it may not work! But try the Jig first.

Tried to flash CM7 on my s2 and after selecting reboot in the cwm menu, the phone won't go past the samsung galaxy s2 logo. The phone won't go into download or recovery mode using button combo press. I've also tried the one-click unbrick tool, which simply fails.
Not sure what do here.

Thanks man. Just tried that
It seems that odin will not detect my phone. I'm reinstalling the samsung usb drivers to see if that helps.
I am happy that I am at least able to get the phone into odin download mode. So not all hope is lost I would think.
Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm downloading the android SDK to get to try ABD right now to see if I can connect that way.

Not a problem! Almost impossible to hard brick this phone. And even if you somehow manage to do that, there are ways to get it out (Depending on what you did). So rest assured, and also get use to battery pulls

Should've been able to get into CWM to do a second flash even if you accidentally rebooted.
Sometimes CWM from a boot-hung device can be tricky, the following should work:
Hold VolUp + VolDn + Power until the device restarts (will be around 12-15 seconds for the long-hold-power reset)
Once the Samsung screen reappears, let go of Power, keep holding VolUp + VolDn until CWM appears
OK, here's the story: I accidentally installed the Galaxy S root instead of the Galaxy Ace one, and now it freezes on Samsung sign. Recovery mode and download mode freeze on startup.Could somebody please give me step by step help to fix this?
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, didn't see a Tech support one.

So when you get into download mode, you cant use the volume buttons to select reebot or continue?
If I go into download mode it freezes on 'downloading' screen. If I go into recovery, it freezes on 'ARM9' screen. After going into recovery mode and taking out the battery the phone now works except I still can't go inot recovery/download mode. Should I flash it or something?

Hmm... thats kinda weird. download mode is usually a last resort fix, so i think that being stuck on "downloading" might be normal. As for recovery, i really am not sure sorry. You could always try to do a factory reset though and see if that clears it up

UPDATE: Holding menu and power brings me to recovery mode, not power+menu+vol up..I'm confused.

I can't speak from experience because I've never owned the note but over in tmobile Galaxy S II theres a thread like this. Is it black screen with red font on it saying firmware error? If so its the same unrecoverable boot loop I saw.

The mode your describing is download mode but you'll have to vol up to go into the mode. As for your cwm question, try a battery pull then insert while holding up and down and power, when you feel the first vibration let go of power and continue to hold the Vol buttons until your recovery opens,if it will. I would be pleased to know download mode works and forget about cwm of its not working. Odin back to stock then try again. Also when you think your phone or computer "freezes" give it more time to finish processes. Don't be hasty.

I was trying to use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850. And I don't have it CWM installed. First I did the Intl. so the digitizer was responding up-side down and then I tried getting it back to US but didn't work. This is my first android device so I don't know much but if there is another way or post which tells how to get back to factory perfectly fine then tell me.
The reason I did this all was because whenever I tried to turn on the wifi it said Error and sometime turning on and then error again.
You mean wifi don't work?At what rom is this happening?stock or the one you installed?look,if you don't have CWM you can't install a ROM,so neither brick your device.I'm sorry, but there is a chance to fix it ONLY if you find a way into download mode.I am starting now the post about CWM.In about half an hour it will be posted and I will give the link

Hi there,
a friend of mine gave me her completely original and stock Galaxy S 3 Neo that got stuck in a bootloop while she was using it.
If you power up the phone, it shows the Samsung Galaxy logo, then proceeds to load the animated logo with the music, but as soon as the first second of music is played, the phone bootloops.
If I try to boot in recovery mode (Home+Power+Volume UP), it bootloops.
If I try to enter Odin mode (Home+Power+Volume DOWN), it bootloops.
Could anyone please explain to me the steps I have to do in order to recover this phone? It is absolutely ESSENTIAL not to delete the internal storage data, because she keeps there many photos of his son (with no backup... how clever)...
Thanks a lot!
Do you see the download or recovery screen before it bootloops?

Yes. It reboots after just a few seconds I see recovery or dowload mode, bu it actually loads them before rebooting. The phone is even recognized by Odin just before it reboots.
Are you sure the battery is okay and fully charged? It's possible that the power button is stuck.

It may be the power button whereby the button is stuck in the "pressed" position.

The power button clicks ok so it doesn't look like it is stuck... I'll look more into it
Edit: WTF I can access download mode just by pressing Home and Volume down, so it seems the power button IS stuck even if it clicks normally...
Although it clicks, it may be stuck in the pressed position.
If you have a multimeter, you could test the power button contacts.
